I can't believe I'm actually allowing myself the foolish hope that this will somehow right some of the wrongs of the New 52...

It's grown on me but...I want some of the old DC back.

Wally West
Donna Prince
The REAL Justice Society

Again...I don't know why I'm even entertaining the thought...

@jjk2814 After reading the last issue of Flashpoint, I always said that DC could use Pandora as some sort of back door to the original 52. People tend to forget that the New 52 is not a complete reboot but as an event cause by Flash in Flashpoint. So hopefully DC can use this as some sort of way to right their wrongs they have done with the New 52.

I like the New 52 and i was a big supporter of it when it started. I understand waves need to be made to make sales. and it worked great. and once sales start dwindling, then they will have a massive "event" that sets everything back again. until then just enjoy the ride.

but that doesnt mean i dont still miss elements of the original.

Arsenal was MUCH better in the original.

The original Amanda waller was miles better.

Justice Society felt better. like it had a place in history in the DCU. Now even though I ReALLY like earth 2, it just doesnt fell like its cohesive with the rest (yet) and I still feel like we havent met a Alan Scott Green Lantern. the new one is missing something and his suit is TOO green.

Wally West... but im sure he will pop up soon.
I could go on a bit more.

But i like how cohesive the rest is now, Aquaman, Steve Trevors role and the addition of the Wildstorm characters. (even though the original Stormwatch was GREAT and this one sucks)

UM DC.......

oldnoname - 7/1/2013, 7:58 PM
Looks good to me
comicfan100 - 7/1/2013, 8:03 PM
Wow, unlike you guys I'll reserve my judgement until I read it, (like you're supposed to).
mctrinket - 7/1/2013, 8:08 PM
Completely out of ideas, huh DC?

*Breaks out the Bullfinch's Mythology and see what we can use.*

Hey how about Pandora's Box?

Sure. Why not?
FanboyTrump - 7/1/2013, 8:22 PM
DC Comics? You mean toilet paper?
jjk2814 - 7/1/2013, 8:27 PM
Amen to that. I'm a DC man through-and-through but thought AvX might be a good reintroduction to was I wrong...
Don't get me wrong. I appreciate a fair amount of the New 52. It got a great deal of forgiveness when it put a decent writer on Green Arrow. Although I still miss Ol' Man Ollie, at least Young Ollie seems like the same character.

But what I don't understand is that there used to be at least an attempt at artistic integrity behind a reboot/relaunch/whatever. I mean next year it will be only ten years since the previous Universe-altering. I had no problem with a cohesive understanding of the multiverse that spun out of Infinite Crisis.

I also think it'd be a helluva marketing maneuver to retcon a lot of stuff back in and get those "new readers" to go out and read what we spent the last twenty years getting to know and love.
Fastestmanalive - 7/1/2013, 8:33 PM
Not really interested in the character too much but I might give it a shot because of the huge role she plays in the DCU.
TheBoss117 - 7/1/2013, 8:42 PM
Bout time we get some damn answers on this chick
TheBoss117 - 7/1/2013, 8:46 PM
......and off topic, why the hell does DC have "DC Comics" on the cover of all their issues? DC already stands for Detective Comics, so it' Detective Comics ....err...Comics?!...the hell? Kind of redundant isn't it?
SuperiorMrGod - 7/1/2013, 8:56 PM
Guys give it a break this has been built up to for years i'm sure many people will enjoy this book. And even if this doesn't look that great you got to admit Marvel events are 10x more tedious and repetitive.

I mean ever since Civil War each event has really been " now watch as every single hero in the Marvel Universe fights each other for no good reason resulting in the death of a major character."
AraxisHT - 7/1/2013, 9:49 PM
I'm looking forward to this book.

The New 52 books I read are better than anything Marvel's been putting out, that's for sure.
JohnnyCloud - 7/1/2013, 10:01 PM
I thought this was a one shot.
Anyway, I have very high hopes for the "Trinity War".
MightyZeus - 7/1/2013, 10:04 PM
I'll give it a read but i kind of want the war between the three groups to come sooner.
Tevii - 7/1/2013, 10:50 PM
AraxisHT - 'The New 52 books I read are better than anything Marvel's been putting out, that's for sure.'

thats definitely true. i think the only thing good at marvel currently is Guardians of the Galaxy
Jollem - 7/1/2013, 10:53 PM
whole lotta good stuff in the new 52
SnapperCarr - 7/1/2013, 11:10 PM
@jjk2814 Don't forget about Ralph and Sue Dibny!
PersonOfNoInterest - 7/1/2013, 11:15 PM
I am enjoying Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy and I admit, I like how Age of Ultron is gearing up for a Marvel reboot... but I honestly think DC did good with the New 52. It was a chance to get everyone on the same footing, escape the shackles of the last 50 years and open up new possibilities.

No, it's not what everyone was reading before, but that's the point. Life is change and I embrace it. If Marvel does a total reboot because of damage to the time lines, I'll get onboard with their new comic universe too. It's not that I dont cherish the characters and history I grew up with... it's that I am ready to see it start again so it'll be fresh.

You can't keep these heroes young forever, when most of them were alive in WW2. Reboots actually make sense here.
jjk2814 - 7/1/2013, 11:19 PM
OHMYGOD! You're right....

And one clear Hawkgirl...who IS Hawkgirl.
Jollem - 7/1/2013, 11:58 PM
@PersonOfNoInterest - very well said
jaycr - 7/2/2013, 12:49 AM
Wonder Woman is great, The Dark Universe is Awesome. My complain is about the fans that are afraid to support new characters and always read the same books.I like Batman, but DC has too much Batman and cancelled great books like Voodoo and I Vampire.
JeighJeigh - 7/2/2013, 3:19 AM

I, Vampire is one of my favorite titles from The New 52. I'm super sad that they cancelled it. DC's Dark Universe are my favorite comics out right now. I do like Daredevil from Marvel though, and I'm going to give Hawkeye a shot(no pun intended).
marvel72 - 7/2/2013, 3:34 AM
marvels infinity will be the event book of the year, its written by marvels best writer at the moment jonathan hickman.

read secret warriors, fantastic four,ff,avengers & new avengers if you want proof how great a writer hickman is.
SUPERSHADOWBAT - 7/2/2013, 3:59 AM
While I am enjoying some of the New 52 books, Batman, Earth 2, Worlds Finest and the Superman books are really getting better. I still miss some of the old continuity like the real JSA. I'll give Trinity War a read and hopefully it will lead to something good.
mctrinket - 7/2/2013, 4:08 AM
Vin Diesel offered Thanos role.
marvel72 - 7/2/2013, 4:56 AM

when new 52 was launched i read the following

-animal man
-the flash
-green lantern
-justice league
-justice league dark
-red lanterns
-swamp thing
-wonder woman

now i read because i've lost interest in most of the titles.

-animal man
-green lantern
-justice league dark
-superman unchained
-swamp thing

@ mctrinket

is that true? i f*ckin hope so,i need to see more of thanos in the marvel cinematic universe.
CrimsonFlash - 7/2/2013, 5:30 AM
I get a mix and match of DC and Marvel but I'd say from personal preference that Marvel has the best books right now.

DD is killing it
Then Hawkeye. So original from the art to the stories. Great jumping off point for new readers.
Then I'd say the Flash. Which as always is the most underrated super hero/and comic.
Then Guardians of the galaxy.
Then JL
Geektality - 7/2/2013, 11:47 AM
Flash is DC
So is Justice League.
