COMICS: First Look At Mark Millar And Frank Quitely's JUPITER'S LEGACY #2

Image Comics has released an unlettered preview of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely's Jupiter's Legacy #2; a comic book that they say is "frankly much-more interesting" than a certain Man of Steel's 75th anniversary! After the superb first issue, it's hard to disagree!

The comic book event of 2013 continues as the schism between the superheroes widens and a plot to unseat the greatest hero of them all emerges. Celebrate the 75th anniversary of Superman this month by buying this frankly much-more interesting book by superstar creators MARK MILLAR and FRANK QUITELY.

I don't like how it's set (in some ways) in our world. They mentioned the president by name in issue #1, kinda like breaking the fourth wall in film.

Looks interesting.
thebearjew - 4/26/2013, 3:14 PM
MarkV its not breaking the fourth wall just kinda realistic

Like marvel n dc they have some of the same celebs n such
naterator - 4/26/2013, 3:14 PM
can you please explain how this is more interesting than a character that has lasted 75 years? pfffft.
NorrinRaddical - 4/26/2013, 3:24 PM
exactly Naterator. Could Millar not be a complete @$$hole every minute of the day?
naterator - 4/26/2013, 3:29 PM
every minute of every fact i dont think i have been a fan of anything mark millar because of it.
naterator - 4/26/2013, 3:32 PM
hes so creative that his hero still has a red cape and boots and can fly. lol
inkslinger616 - 4/26/2013, 3:47 PM
Hahahaha celebrate Supermans 75th by reading this book...priceless
inkslinger616 - 4/26/2013, 3:48 PM
It's more interesting because Superman is simply not interesting.

I like Millar's work, but Frank Quitely's work just doesn't do anything for me.
ATrueHero1987 - 4/26/2013, 4:05 PM
@Nomis lol! Well I'm going to get the first issue of this series. If it's good, I'll wait until the trade comes out.

I'm also going to read Nemesis but I heard that it's not that

the first issue was very good, loving the artwork & i really don't have a problem with millar's writing.

best bit of issue 1 was the fight with blackstar.
shamo - 4/26/2013, 6:20 PM
quitely draws some of the ugliest characters i've ever seen. cant stid his art fuccing up Millars words.

Sad but true. You'd think they could scrape up a good Superman story for his 75th, but noooooo. Hopefully Man Of Steel can make up for it. Too bad Alan Moore buned his bridges with DC. I'd kill for a new Superman story by Moore.
lapress - 4/26/2013, 7:14 PM
Meh, the art is interesting, but i found how they got powers and the introduction to be random.
ATrueHero1987 - 4/26/2013, 7:31 PM
Oh, I agree, Millar is an asshole.

Like I've stated before, I haven't read a comic in decades, so I'm wondering, does this have anything to do with the man of steel, or is this just another example of this sites bias against DC comics?

And please, all of you internet gangster tempted to do a drive-by with your keyboards, don't bother, I don't have time for that bullshit, I'm just asking an honest question, because as I stated, I'm not that well versed in the comic book universe.

If I'm wrong in my observation, show me where I'm wrong, and I will thank you, then move on with my life, it's not that serious.

Guy`s nearly reached the MOEBIUS-Level. Fantastic.

For all of those bashing the book, it's actually pretty decent and I don't usually read ANY of Millar's stuff. All I'm saying is: try something before... Eh, [frick] it. I'm talking to internet here.
Gus - 4/27/2013, 6:27 AM
@tobeyoungagain It's published by Image Comics, so it's not related to any pre-existing comics.

Hope this helps! No drive-by here.
tonytony - 4/27/2013, 7:08 AM
has this got anything to do with SUperman? if not then its a really bizarre topic headline.
damntree - 4/27/2013, 7:55 AM
This is a pretty boring comic. All the heroes get their powers and even their costumes from an island. Lol, so what about the villains?
