COMICS: First Look At Mark Millar And Goran Parlov's STARLIGHT #2

Issue #1 of Mark Millar and Goran Parlov's Starlight was incredible, and we now have a first look at pages from the next instalment of the series which tells the story of Duke McQueen, a man who once saved an alien world from destruction, but has been ridiculed as a fraud ever since returning.

Duke McQueen once saved an alien world from destruction -- but it happened in a place nobody believes in, during a time nobody remembers. Surrounded by memories of his late wife and his happier past, Duke's days as a hero are long gone...or so he thinks! Now, a young visitor from the world Duke once saved is coming to him with a desperate plea for help. It's one last chance at adventure for Duke, and another chapter to unfold in the ever-expanding Millarworld Universe!

Right on. This series is gonna rock. Kind of an Incredibles/Star Wars kind of vibe to it.

Liked the first issue a lot. Millar rules!

I love that synopsis. That and the cover have a very manga-esque feel to them.
Enphlieuwince - 3/10/2014, 5:28 PM
Rather, the character designs on the cover do...

I'm not getting the Incredibles/Star Wars vibe at all.

It's Flash Gordon coming out of retirement, look at the ship design and costumes, just like the old black & white serials.

Colour me interested...

I like this. Very interested. Just wish we had Nemesis 2 along with a Nemesis and Superior movie

"Duke McQueen"? Really? lol
Could they have picked a more 80's action hero sounding name? It's 2014, I thought people were more creative these days lol

Gorgeous dip-pen artwork. Not heard of this one before. May have to get it in paperback form.

Looks cool! Now if I can get my hands on #1! My LCS got shorted by Diamond and that they'll get more in within 1-3 weeks!

Ya think maybe his name is an allusion to two of the biggest action stars ever.....Steve McQueen and "The Duke" John Wayne? Pretty clever if you ask me. I'm with @DarthMuave, clearly a heavy Flash Gordon influence, if not a direct sequel to those stories. Either way this looks great. Pull list!

Did Millar ever finish the WAR HEROES series?
If not,he needs too.
Hope STARLIGHT is good & they make a movie based on it.
Give an old guy a starring role.
