COMICS: Check Out Alex Ross' Breathtaking 50th Anniversary Variant Featuring The X-MEN

We've seen Alex Ross' variant covers for the upcoming first issues of Amazing Spider-Man and Daredevil, and now Marvel have unveiled his take on both the original X-Men and members of the "All-New, All-Different" cast that joined the team in 1975's Giant-Size X-Men" #1.

The cover above was revealed by Comic Book Resources and is a variant for May's All-New X-Men #27. After his beautiful covers for Amazing Spider-Man and Daredevil, this "Silver Age" take on the team is poster worthy material. What do you think? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

NOW THAT'S BREATHTAKING COMIC ART! (something that work get used for sub par comic art)

And how they should have looked on film!

@Godzillafart I read your first comment and was half way through mentally preparing a comment to tear you a new one, glad to see you were joking! Alex Ross is just spellbinding, everything he's done is just timeless and his style is of the true time of comic heroes, sure they are better now but at the conception stage, thats when these heroes came to life and Ross captures that, yes its spandex but before Jim Lee at al, heroes wore spandex, the children on this site wont get it. Liberty, Justice, Kingdom Come, just out of this world.

LOVE IT! Alex Ross Rules :o)
KindredMac - 2/18/2014, 12:55 PM
While Alex Ross is the bomb, I wish he would alter his style in some way to keep up with the times.

I'm not saying he is horrible or anything!

It's just that we have seen the same style from him for almost 20 years now. It almost seems like he is washing out his colors more lately.

Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, Adam Kubert, Joe Mad... They have all grown into their styles and amped it up.

Could it be that Alex Ross has been maxed out for all these years and he just can't get any better????
CaseyJones - 2/18/2014, 12:56 PM
Mother of God. I love it. Scott is like "Hold my hand while I blast some sh*t."

Love Alex Ross work, always a unique style!
Nomis - 2/18/2014, 1:10 PM
@ KindredMac - UGH! The WORST thing Alex Ross could do is change his style to "keep up with the times".

Comic book art and artist have deterrated so BAD today that is a breath of fresh air to see some comic art that doesn't look like a 10 year old nephew of the comic publisher had done it.
M3T4LL0 - 2/18/2014, 1:10 PM
Looks amazing!
Joementum - 2/18/2014, 1:13 PM
Awesome that Wolverine takes up less than 50% of the cover.
Minato - 2/18/2014, 1:15 PM
Anyone else notice that they haven’t created a meaningful longstanding token X-Men character since the late 80s?
musim - 2/18/2014, 1:15 PM
I think this is a sex metaphor.
Dmon - 2/18/2014, 1:24 PM
@grif Because Wolverine is a bitch!
staypuffed - 2/18/2014, 1:25 PM
