COMICS: DEATHLOK #1 Packs High-Octane Espionage Action This October

The Demolisher returns this October for Deathlok #1, an all-new series from the critically acclaimed creative team of Nathan Edmondson (Black Widow, The Punisher) and Mike Perkins (Captain America, Stephen King’s The Stand)! Hit the jump for further details.

Henry Hayes is a veteran, a single parent, a man who thought he’d left his war behind. But unbeknownst to him, he’s been transformed without his knowledge into the perfect weapon of destruction: Deathlok! Operative, fighter, assassin and more – on the battlefield, he is whatever his handlers need him to be.

Created by the mysterious Biotek corporation, Hayes is utilized as a deadly weapon rented out to the highest bidder, his memories erased at the close of every mission. As Henry slowly uncovers the truth behind the horrors that were visited upon him, he’ll struggle with the knowledge that he’s been transformed into a weapon of mass destruction – and expose the disturbing legacy of the many Deathloks that came before him.

“In the tradition of ‘The Bourne Identity’, Deathlok will offer a high-intensity thrill ride mixed with a voyage of discovery, as Henry is forced to peel back the onion-skin of his own existence to get to the truth—and to wrest back control of his life from his corporate overseers!,” says Executive Editor Tom Brevoort. “Viewers familiar with the character concept from his appearances on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. TV series ought to feel right at home getting in on the ground floor of this new series with an all new Deathlok.”

Fans eagerly awaiting DEATHLOK #1 can get their first taste of the new series in the highly anticipated ORIGINAL SINS #1 – featuring the first appearance of Henry Hayes in an all-new story by Edmondson and Perkins. Original Sins #1 is on-sale digitally and in print today!

Hunted across the globe by S.H.I.E.L.D., the one man army will be forced to choose – is he a man, or a machine? Follow the high-octane new title as Deathlok makes his debut today in Original Sins #1 and explodes into his own series this October for DEATHLOK #1.

That’s pretty freaking awesome.
yossarian - 6/11/2014, 7:02 AM
Oh man...the guy who threatens us with hot lead enemas was back and I missed him. Shit.
sameoldthing - 6/11/2014, 7:04 AM
I cannot deny that cover looks cool, nice artwork.
However,I must be old school because I prefer DEATHLOK to look, well dead & more cyborg. Oh Well..

YAY! More TV/Movie influence!
Less imaginative, yes. But at least it'll be MORE realistic.
'Cause that's what I want in my comics – more realism.

See, I'm embracing change!
osideous - 6/11/2014, 7:09 AM
there is more than one deathlok. as it says this is a NEW deathlok
MercwithMouth - 6/11/2014, 7:09 AM
Artwork is great.

Deathlok looks great. One of the many varied Deathlok designs. I'm a fan.
Jollem - 6/11/2014, 7:09 AM
not really diggin' the mcu deathlok
Alfredo27 - 6/11/2014, 7:10 AM
the obligatory scar thru the eye.
MercwithMouth - 6/11/2014, 7:11 AM
I like the idea of memory wipes after each mission. Reminds me of Paycheck(one of Affleck's best movies).
dethpillow - 6/11/2014, 7:17 AM
i bet this one is gonna be so impossible for me to read.

i already have this idea of what's it's gonna be like, and i won't be able to keep my eyes open.

I feel that way about Punisher books usually. especially the ones i've read recently. it's always this certain way that i just don't like.
dethpillow - 6/11/2014, 7:18 AM
u know what tho? i thought the same thing about the new Electra book and the first one was interesting.
ATrueHero1987 - 6/11/2014, 7:19 AM
?? I thought Michael Collins was coming back
Spyder - 6/11/2014, 7:19 AM
That costume is much better than the Power Rangers-esque one we got on Agents of SHIELD.
RetroFit - 6/11/2014, 7:22 AM
So in other words, he's a total ripoff of The Winter Soldier?
KrazyForKomix - 6/11/2014, 7:23 AM
You are right. It's great looking . . .

compared to the Agents of SHIELD Power Ranger outfit.
KrazyForKomix - 6/11/2014, 7:26 AM
And I love the grounded-in-realism gun. It's SOOOOOO much cooler than Luther Mannings old, retro-ie gun.
Plus, gotta love the fanny packs. Lets hope he uses them more than Captain America.
Gusto - 6/11/2014, 7:31 AM
Would have preferred Manning.
But, that does look pretty boss.
cipher - 6/11/2014, 7:51 AM
Hey, yoss, you know who I saw a little while back? Liderc. Too bad he didn't pop up when clones of the old man were as commonplace as shotgun enemas in Detroit.
cipher - 6/11/2014, 7:51 AM
^^^ By the way, to the other guy- that's your cue. ^^^
Pasto - 6/11/2014, 7:52 AM
Whose the guy that gives shotgun enemas?
cipher - 6/11/2014, 7:52 AM
Let's go, baby. Talk dat sexy talk.
yossarian - 6/11/2014, 7:53 AM
Liderc...awesome. I miss him.
MercwithMouth - 6/11/2014, 7:58 AM

You mean that goofy Detroit kid that wanted to watch you suck yourself dry?
KallarkKent - 6/11/2014, 8:08 AM
Looks too much like cyborg, they should have kept parts of the old look.
dethpillow - 6/11/2014, 8:12 AM
KrazyforKomix - what do u think Cap keeps in those?

u know what i think?

just tons of condoms. cuz Cap is just weird like that.

&jolly ranchers, i think... god knows what flavor tho.
for [frick]'s sake, Cap.
yossarian - 6/11/2014, 8:13 AM
@merc - Yeah. He said he wanted to beat me with a wrench until i didn't have any teeth and then make me suck my own dick as he pour hot lead up my ass. I'll be honest, I do that every Tuesday so he needs to step up his game.
dethpillow - 6/11/2014, 8:13 AM
that's what i love about Cap.

how he's sometimes just a big crazy dummy.
dethpillow - 6/11/2014, 8:15 AM
@Yoss - doesn't he remember doing that to u every Tuesday?

that's the weird part i think.
maybe he's just pretending to not remember, i bet.
i had a client once like that. it got really creepy, actually.
yossarian - 6/11/2014, 8:16 AM
@deth - That is kind of sad. But really it's just an ego blow to me because he doesn't remember me and I thought I was special to him.
dethpillow - 6/11/2014, 8:17 AM
i love that about this place, it's like real dressing room talk.

we're all just a bunch of working stiffs,
u gotta get your hand on a dollar, by hook or by crook, u know?
it's good to be able to let your hair down once in a while.
dethpillow - 6/11/2014, 8:18 AM
join the club, Yoss. join the club.
i had one in Detroit, i was even wearing his wedding ring for 13 months.

jimoakley666 - 6/11/2014, 8:29 AM
Oh, fuk off, Marvel. Watered down tv-tie-in bullshit.
TheGreenBastard - 6/11/2014, 8:37 AM
Their using Winter Soldiers storyline for him?

KrazyforKomix: I have to agree. I'm not a fan of the movieverse being crammed into 616, it's lame.
Dedpool - 6/11/2014, 8:41 AM
Sooo....Bloodshot? For Marvel. I like how they're pretty much adding to each characters supporting cast/allies/villains etc. Peter gets a female counterpart, Another Deathlok, a nother New Ghost Rider, and so on. Hopefully these characters don't fall by the wayside.
CorndogBurglar - 6/11/2014, 8:49 AM
@ KallarkKent

Yeah....he couldn't look any less like Cyborg.

Unless...wait a minute. Are you implying that all black people look the same?

Yeah. I know your kind...
acorsi11 - 6/11/2014, 9:04 AM
Looks cool
Ancar - 6/11/2014, 9:26 AM
Beautiful art but... NO. That's not Deathlok:(
aRandomSinisterClone - 6/11/2014, 9:26 AM
looks horrible, lets remake this shitty character to look like the goofy skinny, weak actor who played him in a underwhelming show.
KrazyForKomix - 6/11/2014, 9:34 AM
@ dethpillow

I've always thought, even though they told Cap to throw them away, he keeps his head-wings in there.
Someday . . .

someday . . . .
