COMICS: DnA's Guardians of The Galaxy Complete Collection Coming this Year

Right in time for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, Marvel will be releasing the 296-page whopper, The Guardians of the Galaxy by Abnett and Lanning: The Complete Collection Volume 1.

Amazon has listed The Guardians of the Galaxy by Abnett and Lanning: The Complete Collection Volume 1 a 296-page whopper. The trade paperback is set for release August 5th just in time for the Guardians live action debut on the first. The TPB is currently set at $24.77 and is available for preorder.

This May also sees the release of the hardcover for The Annihilation Omnibus.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

People need to read these stories if they not know about the GotG
Viltrumite - 1/3/2014, 9:45 PM
Perfect way to introduce yourself to the Guardians. As much as I love Bendis' work, particularly on Ultimate Spider-Man, his run on Guardians of the Galaxy hasn't really impressed me beyond the .1 issue.
Redrest94 - 1/3/2014, 9:50 PM
THANK GOD, this is exactly what the people need before they go see the movie
SageMode - 1/3/2014, 10:20 PM
I will be getting this.
ATrueHero1987 - 1/3/2014, 10:30 PM
This is great for people who want to know more about the modern GOTG. Especially since most of the TPB go for outrageous prices.

Though you can get the whole DnA collection digitally on now.
charlie2094 - 1/4/2014, 12:00 AM
Great! Remember having a hard time finding copies of the TPB's when I was reading this run (stuck to digital as a result), good to know they'll be republishing it in time for the film so more people are aware of it

Cool! I hope this means the digital versions will be going to sale very soon. I'm only missing ANNIHILATION: CONQUEST and a handful of GOTG.

Hardcover for this or get out!
KaneRomita - 1/4/2014, 9:35 AM
Highly recommend. About 1000x better than what Bendis has done. DnA's run is bursting with imagination. Bendis' run is bursting with conversation like all his crap.
crawley - 1/4/2014, 9:41 AM
Bout time. The TPB's are like $100 used on Amazon.
RRA - 1/4/2014, 9:48 AM
sikwon - What baffles me more when fanboys complain about the Marvel movies being "too jokey!" is this: Where the hell were they for IRON MAN and IM2 and INCREDIBLE HULK and THOR And CAPTAIN AMERICA and absolutely friggin THE AVENGERS especially?

Those same nerds whining about THOR 2 ad IM3 having too much comedy were the same chumps who laughed like hyenas when Hulk slammed Loki.

It's just typical nerd revisionism.
Pox - 1/4/2014, 10:10 AM
Might pick this up since as much as I'm looking forward to this movie, being an old timer has me instinctively seeing Starhawk, Charlie 27 and all of Valentino's run from back then.

So...gonna have to get this to flush that shit out of my head.
BritishMonkey - 1/4/2014, 10:33 AM
Yes! I've been chasing after the TPB's of these for years now but they're so ridiculously priced. So glad they're rereleasing these.
RyGoR - 1/4/2014, 10:45 AM

fantastic series,i read it first time round.anyone wondering why people are excited for the movie should read this series.
Visualiza - 1/4/2014, 4:22 PM
Excellent series of books, but I'd recommend reading annihilation and conquest first, as they provide some important back story.
loki668 - 1/4/2014, 10:11 PM
I would pay good money to see that!

Shut it.
thewolfx - 1/5/2014, 6:36 AM
I wanna see draktista batistabomb ronan through a meteor

beane2099 - 1/5/2014, 6:46 AM
I would like to see this book go to Hickman or Aaron. I think they'd be a better fit. But I still can't figure out why an overtly cosmic story like Infinity had little or no involvement with Marvel's actual cosmic books. I get that it was an Avengers story, but still. GotG were in exactly one panel of Infinity. But I digress.

And yes this movie will be humorous. And it will be humorous in places that folks think is inappropriate like the last two Marvel films. So don't be surprised is all I'm saying.
fadersdream - 1/6/2014, 7:11 AM
I'm amazed at how much my collection of this is going for.
