I'm a fan of Jonathan Hickman's work on the Fantastic Four comics. Can't wait for Avengers.

Just got Avengers #1 but haven't had a chance to crack it open. Looks promising and that Variant with Hulk and Iron Man is Epic.
avengersleagueofjusticeforamerica - 12/13/2012, 6:16 PM
This book is going to be a slow start, but I got a feeling its going to knock our socks off! I just want to see Hyperion kick some heads in.
marvel72 - 12/13/2012, 6:20 PM
all new x-men is the best team book at the moment but we've had three issues of that comic, avengers has just started & it has so much potential it might even surpass all new x-men.

@ maskedvigilante

as awesome as this art is,i think thor god of thunder by esad ribic has the best artwork of all the marvel now titles.
ClarkFarley2012 - 12/13/2012, 6:24 PM

Jordanstine - 12/13/2012, 6:28 PM
Is that Human Torch (1st cover)? Or is that another flame entity?
SageMode - 12/13/2012, 6:29 PM
Ex Nihilo looks like Pyron from Darkstalkers
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 12/13/2012, 6:36 PM
This feels very DCish, flashbacks of Magog.
avengersleagueofjusticeforamerica - 12/13/2012, 6:44 PM

I agree completely about all new xmen. great art great writing. I am kind of excited to see how wide captain America opens their ranks. Truly possibilities are endless.

@avengersleague Yeah, it starts out slow, but hickmans known to build up and leave little things in the beginning, that will explode in the end. I'm ready to see hyperion as well, issue 4 he's getting his own arc, cant wait.

@Jordanstine Thats sunspot, one of the mutants.
Bandido - 12/13/2012, 7:05 PM
Its so ambitious how many members are going to be in this book...i think hickman said the roster had around 20+ avengers
IronHood - 12/13/2012, 7:36 PM
So where Ant-Man?
marvel72 - 12/13/2012, 7:39 PM
@ Bandido

i read somewhere on here that hickman was writing 30 characters in the avengers.
TheAbomination - 12/13/2012, 7:48 PM
That art is f*ucking amazing, man.
Bandido - 12/13/2012, 7:49 PM
@Marvel72: damn that's a lot haha I feel like I'm gonna have to write notes just to keep up! Hey did u read batman 15?!
Xiim - 12/13/2012, 7:57 PM

Giant-Man aka Hank Pym -> Running the Avengers Academy
Ant-Man aka Scott Lang -> Running the FF
Ant-Man aka Eric o'Grady -> Dead, being impersonated by LMD

I also like the fact they are returning to a larger cast... I really enjoyed the smaller group that Bendis created with the New Avengers... but its been long enough that I think this is a good chance to give other characters a chance in the spotlight.

This, All-New X-Men, and Thor:God of Thunder are currently my favorite Now! books artwise...

Apparently Hickman has big plans for the future with this series and it looks like things are definitely going to go cosmic.
hehemata - 12/13/2012, 7:58 PM
the first cover looks ridiculous

thor looks like he's doing an aboriginal dance

don't u love it when artists show u just how little they know about human fighting movement and posture
LordHuck - 12/13/2012, 8:12 PM

ATrueHero1987 - 12/13/2012, 9:53 PM
Haven't received my first issue yet of Avengers but I have a feeling that this will tie-in with All New X-Men and I love that book!
niknik - 12/13/2012, 10:07 PM
The Hulk hasn't been with the Avengers now for more than a handful of issues including Avengers Assemble, and I swear he has been turned against the team on at least 4 separate ocassions. Enough already! Can't these writers come up with something new for a change and isn't there an editor in charge of making sure this sort of thing doesn't happen? I know there used to be. It's the editors job to make sure writers don't use the same bit 4 times in 6 months. It was old the 2nd time around.
