Final Frontiers was a good story arc. This Deadpool infinite comics series is turning out to be ok too. Both not a great as Wolverine's was.

you know, it's really cool that Marvel keeps Gillen on Iron Man. this last year has been kinda not what most people would think was what they should do with one of their bigger properties now becuz of the MCU.

i haven't kept up with the whole story arc, but the ones i have checked in on, Gillen's a pretty interesting author and he's definitely not interested just in turning in the regular superhero stuff. and he's not bad. i just haven't found any Iron Man issues by him that i've really loved, but Marvel is rad for that. they've stuck by the guy and I like that.

I loved his Young Avengers title. that's over now, but that was great stuff, and really cool that Marvel stuck with that too. I don't think either of them were selling all that well.

and second thing, and this is a major thing that Marvel needs to take note of start to consider doing....

I think with annuals.... they shouldn't even consider renumbering. annuals should be ongoing based on character or group. i think that Spider-Man whould only get one annual each year. however many titles he has going on or is associated with... 1 Spider-Man annual every year. and when Superior soon changes back to Amazing, you wouldn't do Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1 the next year.

this seems obvious and something they should've just accepted as convention from the get go back in the 60's.

but start it now, i guess. it seems ridiculous to see an Iron Man Annual #1 coming out now. that's completely ridiculous.

so you see, what i'm saying, is that Spider-Man gets one annual. he could show up in Scarlet Spider's annual tho. or in the Avengers annual. he could show up in as many annuals as he makes sense or doesn't make sense to show up in.

but HE, HIMSELF, would only have 1 annual every year and regardless of whatever run you're doing, each character would only get 1 annual every year and it would be ongoing until the end of Marvel Comics.

Ultimate Spider-Man, of course would get it's own annual.

this is simple and this is a better way to do it than the mess they have going on now that gives us an Iron Man Annual #1. that's just ridiculous.

And Marvel needs to quit having like 10 Avengers and 10 X-Men books.

they are hurting themselves immeasurably with this. so much that it can't be measured, yes. that is how much they are hurting themselves.

i'll tell you why. there's a title called Secret Avengers. since it was one of the 10 or 20 titles out that have the word Avengers in the title, I didn't care. i didn't want to hear a goddam thing about it, cuz it gives me a headache, why there's

New Avengers
Mighty Avengers
Young Avengers
Secret Avengers
Avengers AI
Avengers Arena (or whatever Battle Royale/Catching Twilight on Fire type of concept that was)

and now i think now there's Avengers World too. but Young Avengers is gone.
so see? that's a lot of Avengers titles. the world should never be like that.

so thats why it gives people like me a headache.

but then i'm saying this now... cuz it turns out Secret Avengers is a great book. absolutely great. amazing stuff. and i wouldn't have known if not for a chain of random circumstance.

and it turns out too... that it's basically a SHIELD book. Marvel has no SHIELD book, or they do... except it called Secret Avengers for some stupid reason. it's like everything that i thought AOS was gonna be when it was announced. amazing writing by Nick Spencer. i can't say how much, how happy i was to catch up on the last year of this comic book, recently.

Young Avengers, also, I just assumed was awful. why would it be any good? it turns out it was one of my favorite titles from last year, overall.

and the lesson to be learned from this... is not that I should stop judging titles based on if it's the 30th running Avengers book.

the lesson is that Marvel should stop calling everything Avengers or Superior Spider-Man or X-Men. stop doing that, cuz there should be 2 Avengers books. maybe you could push it to 3. but really, don't do any more than 2 usually.

it seems like such obvious bad business to do this. maybe it's such an obvious thing that it must turn out to be good business for Marvel to trick people like this. but i think they are losing a lot of support and love cuz i just bet most people are more like me, and you tend to blank out when presented with 15 Avengers titles to choose from. you just want 1.

Superior Foes of Spider-Man is like this too. what does Spider-Man have to do with it? almost nothing. also one of the my favorite titles this year and also amazingly written by Nick Spencer...
but it's basically a book about a few old washed up villains of Spider-Man.. Boomerang, Shocker, a new Beetle, Hammerheads in there, Silvermane kind of centrally ties together the whole arc of the series so far. Owl.
and it's all told from these incompetent losers trying to put together a new Sinister Six and it's really great stuff and it's hilarious too.

but why call it another Spider-Man book?

they're really shooting themselves in the foot a lot recently. this problem has been going for a while, but it's especially bugging me recently.

Y'know, I can't recall the last time I've seen a post from Mr. Bag. I always enjoyed his posts. I thought of Cipher, Gusto and Teabag as a triumvirate of ... well I don't know really. But something.
