This fight will be summed up in 3 words by magneto repeatedly:

"Stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself!"
MarkJulian - 1/18/2012, 5:32 AM
Judging by this cover it looks like Cap vs Cyk; Iron Man vs Magneto, Namor vs Thing, Rogue vs Thor, Spider-Man vs Emma Frost and Wolverine vs Hope?
OptimusPrimeTime - 1/18/2012, 5:41 AM
Unless Tony Stark can come up with........plastic armor?

This is kinda silly don't you think.........
spiderneil - 1/18/2012, 5:50 AM
john romita jr is drawing all the issues? I wont be picking this uo
SuperSomething616 - 1/18/2012, 5:51 AM
Why do people keep forgetting Iron man's armor is no longer made from metal? GEEZ!!!
JackBauer - 1/18/2012, 5:56 AM
This came up recently in a different article. Tony Stark has demagnetized his armor in the past. Check out Avengers West Coast #56-60 where Magneto takes on the AWC.
ComicBookGoth - 1/18/2012, 6:11 AM

Pretty much
Fogs - 1/18/2012, 6:14 AM

jeremySee - 1/18/2012, 6:26 AM
Just 'cuz this particular match-up REALLY amuses me...

IRON Man vs. MAGNETo...REALLY??? He can REMOVE the adamantium from Wolverine's OF COURSE Iron Man has a chance. Of course :/

@ComicBookGoth - Hell yeah. These are the so-called "Architects" of the Marvel U, and THIS is what they come up with...
ThaMessenger07 - 1/18/2012, 6:31 AM

elessarundomiel2382 - 1/18/2012, 6:32 AM
Now the reason why they combined Colossus with Juggernaut's powers is finally at a fruition......To take on The Hulk. But will that be enough to take on The Incredible Hulk? Dont forget the Hulk family especially Red Hulk. The X-men have no chance. Apart from Wolverine, Sabretooth, Deadpool, all the Weapon X agents, Cable and maybe Bishop, the X-men really dont have much extensive combat skills. Black Widow can definitely hold her own against Gambit, Cap's shield can hold any blast from any mutant including Cyclops' Optic Blasts. No one has ever withstood a blow from Mjolnir, not even Hulk. Speaking of Hulk, no one has ever stopped him. Honestly all these crossovers though, you gotta ask what the hell are the ILLUMINATI doing behind the shadows. Arent they supposed to stop something like this from happening?
StuckInPanels - 1/18/2012, 6:38 AM
We heard to counter about the Iron man VS Magneto battle. Iron Man has his armor demagnetized
JohnTom88 - 1/18/2012, 6:38 AM

Of course DC-ite. Iron Man is more scientifically minded than Batman, and in a prep situation he's way more prepared than Batman sans any PIS/Batgod situation. Batman = utility belt. Iron Man = the whole armor is a swiss army knife & a walking computer.

This battle is about how prepared Iron Man (who always think about possible futures and quite good in solving scientific problems) against one of the most dangerous Mutants. Of course the odds are stack against Iron Man, but Tony Stark is always the single Avenger who can almost do anything from brute force, sneaky clandestine stuff, to mind game.
SageMode - 1/18/2012, 6:38 AM
Why are people ignoring the fact that Iron Man modified his armor years ago with a demagnetizing agent and he has backup systems for EMPs? This was already covered in the first article of the IRON MAN vs MAGNETO cover art for AVENGERS vs X-MEN.
JohnTom88 - 1/18/2012, 6:40 AM

Iron Man is just a moniker given by bystanders (think about the movie). It's still made from metal but it's not Iron.

jimoakley666 - 1/18/2012, 6:42 AM
It'll probably go something like this...

"Hello, Iron Man. My name is Magneto and I've got a present for you. Close your eyes and hold out your hands. There you go, Tony. That there is your arse. I just handed you your arse. Bye bye!"
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 1/18/2012, 6:46 AM
No, Iron-Man's armour is not iron and he has de-magnetised it. Would that stop Magneto? No. If Iron-Man can take out Magneto quickly it could be game over but give Magneto just a few seconds and he can easily win depending on a couple of things:

1 - His surroundings. There's sure to be metal somewhere, even in its raw mineral state.

2 - Can Iron-Man de-magnetise the WHOLE suit? There's sure to be some component Erik can sniff out.

3 - What's Tony wearing under that suit? Just a belt buckle or even button would be enough.

4 - What's Tony's dental record? A filling pushed through his brain would be rather painful.

5 - This is the main one. I very much doubt Tony has managed to fully de-magnetise that arc reactor in his chest? Even it's casing?

Unless Tony takes Magneto out instantly, it's not likely to end well for him!
jimoakley666 - 1/18/2012, 6:47 AM
Hold on a sec. People are saying "Oh, Iron Man ain't metal, and he can't be magnetised" etc etc... If Magneto can suck the iron out of your blood then I'm sure he can [frick] up the circuits in Iron Man's suit. It's still got to have SOME metal in there. Power doesn't travel through plastic. There has to be something to transfer the energy from his arch reactor to the rest of the suit.

And if push came to shove, Mags could just turn his helmet, caps shield of even Wolverine himself into one giant spiky weapon and cut Tony the [frick] up. Into little bits. Tiny ones.
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 1/18/2012, 6:48 AM
@ jimoakley666 - lmfao!
ThaMessenger07 - 1/18/2012, 6:58 AM
I would also like to add that in the Movie, Iron-Man says his Suit isn't made of Iron......Just thought I would throw that out there....
SageMode - 1/18/2012, 7:06 AM
From MARVEL.WIKIA.........

Crystallized Iron Armor: The armor has evolved from a bulky iron suit to a molecularly aligned matrix of crystallized iron enhanced by magnetic fields over layers of other metals like titanium, creating a shell that is pliable, yet capable of amazing resilience and protection.

And before y'all say anything, it's correct. If you don't cite your sources on there or provide false info, it will be deleted.
Fogs - 1/18/2012, 7:10 AM
@tea - I LOLed in this "if batman isnt made of bats" part.
NightmareB4 - 1/18/2012, 7:23 AM
Guys...guys. Think for a second. Tony Stark would make an armor....out of bubble-wrap!

Seriously though, Erik would wipe the floor with him.
thalidomide - 1/18/2012, 7:39 AM
@Tea I hope you're being sarcastic because that is pure pwnage in my book LOL!

It's funny how you can analyze people's logic by just showing a comic book artwork :)
thalidomide - 1/18/2012, 7:44 AM
@Nomis: Don't say that. They're watching! :P
thalidomide - 1/18/2012, 7:51 AM
Absorbing Man

Ranger14 - 1/18/2012, 8:21 AM
It all depends on the writers and last time I checked Iron Man has more than one suit. He customizes suits based on the adversaries he faces. He customized a suit to take on Hulk, Thor and yes...Magneto. He doesn't just have one suit that is made of iron.

"If Magneto can suck the iron out of your blood then I'm sure he can [frick] up the circuits in Iron Man's suit."

Magneto has only done that X2 film and that is when they put an iron additive into the person's blood that allowed him to be able to do so. There is no one on record that Magneto has been able to draw our their natural blood based on its iron content.
JohnTom88 - 1/18/2012, 8:58 AM
There are 3 legit science-based Marvel Deus ex Machina: Reed Richards, Henry Pym, and Tony Stark. Guess which one is on the upside of popularity meter, a full time Avenger, and prep like Nick Fury...

Sparrowsabre7 - 1/18/2012, 9:01 AM
It really annoys me how many people say "Magneto wins because Iron Man is made of metal" He's a friggin super-genius, he's not going to wear his standard metal armour into battle with someone whose entire schtick is "controls metal"! Stop treating Tony like a moron, not to mention in the recent first issue of Magneto Not a Hero he was wearing a rubber Iron Man suit which still seemed to work like his normal armour.
KNIGHT3000 - 1/18/2012, 9:05 AM
I always love it when Tony gets his ass handed to him.
OtakuPapi - 1/18/2012, 9:18 AM
I take it no one has read Magneto:Not A Hero. Tony And Mags Already Almost Came To Blows. And Tony Does Have Some Kind Of Plastic Armor. It Didnt Impress Mags He Lifted Cars And All Kind Of Crap From Outside. So Tony Is Going To Have To Have A Magnetic Pole Disrupter or something that cancels out Mags own magnetic field to even deal with them. And then i'll still be hard. Not a fight Tony can win without think of every unpredictable Sitch. And Rogue Is Against Ms Marvel some people dont pay attention or they just dont read comics lol
Gmoney84 - 1/18/2012, 9:40 AM

"And then i'll still be hard."

That's what he said???
joeker - 1/18/2012, 9:56 AM
hold on everyone im sure there will be more than meets the eye if not then i will eat my own....left nut...yeah i went there
ClarkStark - 1/18/2012, 10:06 AM

Magneto still wears underpants?

Get with the new century!
breakUbatman - 1/18/2012, 10:23 AM
Does Iron Man still have reverse magnetism in his arsenal?
ThatLazyNinja - 1/18/2012, 11:07 AM
STOP SAYING IRONMAN WILL LOSE HE AINT MADE OF METAL! sorry just had to say that literally made an account to say that lol
MrWayne - 1/18/2012, 12:01 PM
Iron man's suit looks different, so I'll assume they will make it so Stark found a way to make a suit impervious to magnetism.
ICStoopedPeople - 1/18/2012, 1:07 PM

Wasn't it in Age of Apocalypse that Magneto messed with Bishop's blood to cause him to go unconscious? Not quite "I'll draw all the blood out of your body... TO MURDER YOU," but the idea was still there. I'll need to double check that one because it's been a lifetime (and I pretty much stopped reading comics after Age of Apocalypse for a long, long time).
