Take that JRJr naysayers!
imnotwearinghockeypants - 10/5/2012, 9:21 AM
Colors are top notch. Enhances Romita's art tenfold.
BruceLeroy - 10/5/2012, 9:25 AM
Well damn, this actually looks good. The coloring makes Romita's art much more tolerable. Impressed.
theInvincibleMexiMan - 10/5/2012, 9:33 AM
I have to admit, I wasnt going to pick this book up because I dont really like Romita's work outside of Kick-ass, but the colors REALLY improved it for me.

so I'll be getting this.
ATrueHero1987 - 10/5/2012, 9:34 AM
I like Romita's art but The Green Skull and his lackeys...O_o

SN: Missed out on Ed Brubaker's run on Cap but it's not a if or a maybe. I will subscribe to this series as well.
jimpinto24 - 10/5/2012, 9:43 AM
I can't wait to pick up Captain America #1. Rick Remender is one of my favorite comic book writers & John Romita Jr. did a good job with the art. It will take some getting use to seeing Cap with long hair, and I would prefere Wonder Man or Baron Zemo has the maain villian. Overall, it should be a good read.
SageMode - 10/5/2012, 9:44 AM
Still not feeling JRJR's artwork.
luckylu - 10/5/2012, 9:48 AM
does jrjr use a potato to draw with? cause this is fricking horrible. whoever did the coloring needs to be given an award for making his art look somewhat tolerable.
KaneVonDoom - 10/5/2012, 9:58 AM
Those colors actually make JRJR's art tolerable, but that cover is a joke. Looks like he's been takin hints from Liefeld with those poses.
Loki9876 - 10/5/2012, 10:24 AM
Hey, his art improved it's still not the best but it's better
uvsk420 - 10/5/2012, 10:27 AM
when did the lex luthor of the amalgam universe enter the marvel 616
uvsk420 - 10/5/2012, 10:30 AM
technically dc and marvel both own the green skull trademark/name or whatever so is dc getting a paycheck from this issue?
AlcoholicA - 10/5/2012, 10:31 AM
Maybe Marvel is hoping that Rememder's greatness will out weigh JRjr's crapness and still sell more books than this mediocre title was already selling...
theInvincibleMexiMan - 10/5/2012, 10:45 AM
I just hope I see Cap do this ;P

BubblesShedAndBreakfast - 10/5/2012, 10:48 AM
I think I'll skip this book. :/
Lightsplasher - 10/5/2012, 10:53 AM
@hope420 : Hopin' it isn't cuz of Romita's art ...
Remender's work is awesome ! Read Uncanny X-Force if you don't trust me ...
AlcoholicA - 10/5/2012, 10:59 AM

Well that's one way of looking at it, lol.... Just don't know why JRjr gets such a royal treatment at Marvel.

But it's what I would do if I had great writers and artists, but some crappy writers and artist. I would have to balance them out or your left with a few amazing comics and some complete shít, since, ya know, having ONLY great artists and writers apparently isn't an option.
Lightsplasher - 10/5/2012, 11:02 AM
@IM53 , you're right Bro ! I Think Alonso chosen him for his awesome work on both Venom and Uncanny X-Force !
With Uncanny Avengers and a big title like Captain America , i'm sure he's gonna become a great writer ...
Asterisk - 10/5/2012, 11:32 AM
Doesn't look too bad, but...I can barely read the text.
ATrueHero1987 - 10/5/2012, 11:45 AM
@monkeyballs3 Are you talking about Oliver Coipel??
Jollem - 10/5/2012, 11:48 AM
jrjr. is a legend in the comic book world and you are not
Jollem - 10/5/2012, 12:09 PM
@Splenda - cool. never said anything to the adverse of that :)

@monkeyballs3 - never said people can't critique/complain :) i've always liked jrjr.'s style, nomatter the age
mrHJK - 10/5/2012, 12:26 PM
Is this Cap's solution to everything??
Cap, what's the next step in your plan?

OdinsBeard - 10/5/2012, 12:59 PM
not bad mr romita jr... not bad... still other artists i prefer but it looks like romita took his time here and turned in something passable. still too blocky for my tastes.
AlcoholicA - 10/5/2012, 1:07 PM

This IS the most bearable I've seen from JRjr in a while. Much better than usual, but I still have a hard time with it.
AlcoholicA - 10/5/2012, 1:50 PM

Oh man..... that's just.....just...... not cool....
kirbyfan - 10/5/2012, 2:10 PM
I don't know what in the world some of you are talking about, Romita Jr's work always looks good!

I can't wait to get this book, I've really been into the Captain lately, one of Jack Kirby's very best characters!
KaneVonDoom - 10/5/2012, 2:28 PM
That would be amazing if they got Clayton Crain on this title. All of his stuff is flawless in my opinion. Remender is excellent and Cap is one of my favorite characters. Would be a great team up.
Carloshll726 - 10/5/2012, 3:07 PM
Wow! That looks good! There's a "Green Skull" now?
RedandBlue - 10/5/2012, 9:35 PM
I think Monkeyballs is referring to either Jerome Opena or Esad Ribic. Both are amazing, and I'll say they're the best at Marvel. Personal opinion. Not to say there isn't a bunch of talent in the art department.
OxnardMontalvo - 10/6/2012, 8:09 AM
Still don't like his art. Not wild about the new uniform either. I've been following this character for 45 years, about 10 issues shy of having everything since issue 100,
looks like it might be time to drop this book from my pull.
DeeAyeRon - 10/12/2012, 11:02 AM
It looks great! Can't wait till it hits the shelves
