BuckyCap - 5/15/2014, 3:31 PM
That wouldn't have happened if Captain America was wearing his "Marvel NOW!" skateboard helmet.
Mrcool210 - 5/15/2014, 3:31 PM
i love that little comment by spider girl. "Come on its him" she just knows thanks to his crappy jokes. lol
mitchybaby - 5/15/2014, 3:33 PM
DrDoom - 5/15/2014, 3:35 PM
I [frick]ing hate how informal the comic descriptions are.
AndrewWebs25 - 5/15/2014, 3:36 PM
Looks good, maybe I will buy some Spidey comics again..
Doopie - 5/15/2014, 3:43 PM
matrix and american beauty posters...this girl living in 1999?
BlindJustice - 5/15/2014, 3:44 PM
Alright, so why are we just now finding out someone ELSE was bitten by the same spider as Peter? I bet there are tons more out there...

What if...

Doopie - 5/15/2014, 3:44 PM
then there's the VHS too. what's going on here?
BlindJustice - 5/15/2014, 3:45 PM
@Doopie - Don't forget the big tube TV and VHS tapes...
BlindJustice - 5/15/2014, 3:46 PM
...and a typewriter.
airbeyonder18 - 5/15/2014, 3:47 PM
Thus is good. I thought we were going to wait forever til Spidey told everyone it wasn't him..
Doopie - 5/15/2014, 3:50 PM
and there's stark hogging all the tech the douche!

if an early spidey fight was recorded on VHS, and this is set in the modern day, that would place peter at around this right? does anyone have any answers?
staypuffed - 5/15/2014, 3:50 PM
I want to enjoy this, but the first issue was super meh.
Zeponi - 5/15/2014, 3:52 PM

Spidey is around 27. :P
AndrewWebs25 - 5/15/2014, 3:53 PM
@staypuffed I know right? Last issue was boring, the only thing I enjoy was the Black Cat set-up but the rest was just meh
ManCalledSting - 5/15/2014, 3:58 PM
Yeaaaaa!!!!!!! RETCON!!!!
Doopie - 5/15/2014, 4:02 PM
in my head i always picture peter at around 23-24.

when did people stop using VHS though? if he started as spidey at 15 in 1999 (and i only say that because of the film poster references) that would put him around 30 now. and how far into his career was his second fight with electro? that could put him even older.

don't really care just think it's interesting. and it makes me wonder what's going on with the spider-girl. is she living in the past or is she just into antiques?
Rpendo - 5/15/2014, 4:04 PM
After he got hit, Cap just stood up and calmly said:

"My movie cost 60 million less than yours to make, 100 million less to market, and there's a chance that it's still going to make more money than yours. Oh yeah, and I'm in the next Avengers movie, so f uck you."
Zeponi - 5/15/2014, 4:05 PM
Apparently, every 4 years in the real world = 1 year in the 616 verse.

So that places Peter somewhere between 27-30, I guess.

Ramiel - 5/15/2014, 4:08 PM
[frick] him up, Spidey! Cap is nothing more than a gov't puppet now.
JoshWilding - 5/15/2014, 4:11 PM
I believe the last issue said that 12 years had passed since Peter was bitten by the spider, so that would make him around 27 or 28.
SuperiorMrGod - 5/15/2014, 4:12 PM

Lol, comment of the day.
staypuffed - 5/15/2014, 4:18 PM
It was 13 years. So if he's been Spider-Man since he's 15 (Civil War), he's 28.
dethpillow - 5/15/2014, 4:29 PM
616 is one big, ugly, beautiful mess.

it's just Rome built upon Rome built upon Rome built upon Rome. times 13
wouldn't trade it for anything.
Doopie - 5/15/2014, 4:50 PM
thanks for the info guys
thing94 - 5/15/2014, 4:54 PM
I'm going to sell all my comics lol
storyteller - 5/15/2014, 4:55 PM
Just remember that in the end, Spider-man beat up Captain America and Stark.
dethpillow - 5/15/2014, 5:25 PM
@Doopie - well also, she's in a room with no windows.
and she seems to be talking about food like it's a limited resource.
enough for 2 years. plenty of VHS tapes.
and that along with the posters, the rack of VHS tapes, the Rubik's Cube, gives a picture of isolation and being closed off from everything else.

and that's the mystery that's being set up in this first page.

that and her being able to fire webs out of her finger. so it's a good setup for something, i think.
dethpillow - 5/15/2014, 5:33 PM
actually, interesting, she doesn't say 2 years, i read that in.
the narrator says years worth of food.

at first i felt like she was captive, but maybe she's just a total recluse for whatever reason, like it's self imposed. she has a jigsaw puzzle on her table too.

this looks like it might be interesting.
CrimsonFlash - 5/15/2014, 5:35 PM
I thought everyone knew spiderman was peter parker let along IM?
FlyingSeel - 5/15/2014, 5:56 PM
That last panel looks stupid as hell.
RetroFit - 5/15/2014, 6:27 PM
Apparently Spider-Man is Deadpool now. What a bunch of crap. Making EVERYTHING he says be some wiseass remark? That's just as bad as Prequels Yoda saying every single thing backwards instead of just some of it like in Empire.
BaneNascent - 5/15/2014, 6:35 PM
@Crimson Flash

Ever since Spider-Man sold his marriage to Sata----I mean Maphesto he has a magical barrier on his secret identity. At the cost of his personal life. After Civil War when he outed himself in front of everybody on TV who he really was blah blah blah Joe Quesada is garbage at story telling. (Spider-Man stories were getting depressing I had to stop reading them for awhile)

But this book does look fun. I am happy to be able to buy Spider-Man comics again.
LittleDanglyThing - 5/15/2014, 7:00 PM

Don't forget the Fight Club poster.
Regardless 1999 is the greatest single year of all time according to me, and I'm always right.
LittleDanglyThing - 5/15/2014, 7:02 PM
She fires web out of her fingers like Jessica Drew does in Ultimate Marvel.

I bet this is Peters sister. That'd be great
FlixMentallo21 - 5/15/2014, 7:02 PM
Can we just get Spidey out of the Avengers already? Same with Wolverine? They're both eyesores.
PenditaMarah - 5/15/2014, 9:21 PM
marvel comic become boring and keeps boring nowadays.this is why dc comics wins now in comic industries reboot marvel comic ala new 52!!
FusionForce - 5/15/2014, 10:52 PM
Slott is such a sh!t writer, god his dialogue is awful.
FusionForce - 5/15/2014, 10:53 PM
Why is Spider-Man making cookies like a baby and hitting Captain America, clearly Fat Dan Slut has no clue how to write this character.
JohnTom88 - 5/16/2014, 12:01 AM
Heck no Angry Nun (that's you PenditaMarah), Marvel Now! (I hate that term) is beating all New 52 in sales last month and most of the months before without the hard reset and Batman overload.
