First picture looks like she's been put there using Photoshop
Tanngnjostr - 11/16/2012, 5:03 AM
Hickman's Avengers & New Avengers will probably be the best "Avengers in the title" book.

KrazyForKomix - 11/16/2012, 5:25 AM
Hey, why does Cap have a special-needs chinstrap? I'm confused. Has he grown less competent in his old age?
Durango95 - 11/16/2012, 5:28 AM
Smasher? Are they running out of names for characters? whats next? Invincible Iron-On? Irredeemable Ass-Hat?
GTFO Quesada.
superotherside - 11/16/2012, 5:31 AM
Hickman's Avengers books will be the best thing ever.
nuclearpriest - 11/16/2012, 5:38 AM
Okay, so far we've had "Red Hulk", "Red She-Hulk", "Protector" and now "Smasher". With all the creative talent at Marvel these are the best names they could come up with of late? Maybe they should pay Stan Lee to come up with a list of random names that they can choose from because they are just not getting it done lately.
LFANCH - 11/16/2012, 5:42 AM
@KrazyForKomix the real question is; why is cap holding his shield like that?
Hodor - 11/16/2012, 5:50 AM
@RobLiefeldFan- I read in here somewhere that he got banned. I for one miss him. He may have been a troll, but he was our troll.
johnfinley - 11/16/2012, 6:15 AM
Laziest name EVER.
AlcoholicA - 11/16/2012, 6:28 AM
Isn't Smasher a long time Imperial Guardsmen. Not that individual, but the title. Just like some of the others have died but are replaced and the new person takes on the same costume and name?

If this is true then I'm okay with the name.
sameoldthing - 11/16/2012, 6:28 AM
Dumb name...won't be too long before Wolverine is going to smash her!
sameoldthing - 11/16/2012, 6:29 AM
By smash I mean he's going to nail her.
sameoldthing - 11/16/2012, 6:30 AM
Sex. Animal sex,Wolvie style.
StarkAnthony - 11/16/2012, 6:32 AM
I miss Grif
siggisuperman - 11/16/2012, 6:33 AM
BRING BACK GRIF! or everyone will get a secondary Grif account and put "shit article" comments on all articles.

Also Smasher isn't the most original name but neither is Iron Man, Spider Man, Giant-Man, Power man, Wonder Man, or Batman and Superman for that matter. Name doesn't matter, the character matters.
Temple - 11/16/2012, 6:41 AM
@AlcoholicA Yup, glad to see someone knows whhat there talking about. The majority of the people on here have no clue haha. Come on guys, the smasher has been around since 1977.
Temple - 11/16/2012, 6:46 AM
I think Avengers and New Avenger are gunna be the biggest titles of all marvel now. Hickmans doing the series good by bringing back old heros and villians and even creating new heros and villians. So I'm looking forward to both the most.
AlcoholicA - 11/16/2012, 6:47 AM

Much obliged, I've read a book or two in my day, as apparently, you have.

lol, sir.
imnotwearinghockeypants - 11/16/2012, 6:47 AM
Wolverine's got mad ups.
polarkyle - 11/16/2012, 7:02 AM
i still don't think marvel now is as good as the new 52
thunderforce - 11/16/2012, 7:02 AM
Is this Marvel giving us new cosmic characters that they have the rights to for movie purposes , if so I am ok with that .
AlcoholicA - 11/16/2012, 7:02 AM

Yeah, considering he's bones are laced with metal, that's damn near another mutant power.
thunderforce - 11/16/2012, 7:03 AM
Who has the rights to Gladiator does anyone know ?
SotNatt - 11/16/2012, 7:14 AM
Could have sworn Smasher was a guy, but okay then.
KaneVonDoom - 11/16/2012, 7:30 AM
How the Hell is Cap holding that shield?!

That almost looks like a Liefeld mistake where he just drew it in as an after thought.
comicstocode - 11/16/2012, 7:51 AM
Temple hit it. The last Smasher died I think during the Annihilation wave. This one is now from earth apparently and an avenger. Maybe she trades spots with Iron Man as he goes into space
ATrueHero1987 - 11/16/2012, 8:15 AM
I'm going need Marvel to make up their minds about Cap's wings!
comicstocode - 11/16/2012, 8:24 AM
Is the black guy Eden?
DarthTesla - 11/16/2012, 8:28 AM
She looks rad! Love the Imperial Guard.
SCURVYDOG619 - 11/16/2012, 8:33 AM
Smasher=Ultra Boy.

The Imperial Guard are essentially Marvel's version of the Legion of Super Heroes, which Dave Cockrum drew before getting the X-Men gig with Claremont.

cabbie655 - 11/16/2012, 8:47 AM
Looks good. Looking for both Marvel Now Avengers titles.
MikeHawk - 11/16/2012, 9:56 AM
Someone get a picture of Danny Phantom's Mom...looks exactly the same!
SpideyQuad - 11/16/2012, 10:09 AM

I swear I never touched her...

BTW, What's her powers?
neopunch - 11/16/2012, 11:10 AM
Smasher. hmmm. Sounds like a third grader came up with that name. Is her side kick named "Squasher"?
neopunch - 11/16/2012, 11:13 AM
@Kane answer= velcro

Equivocal - 11/16/2012, 11:46 AM

LOL at your comment ;)
good point !

first human ???
I didn't know humans could fly and breath in space ...??!!!!!
Pauul - 11/16/2012, 2:24 PM
Emperor Vulcan once killed a Smasher, when he meets the next one he remarks 'didn't I kill you?'

So, yeah, there have been plenty of Smashers.

Smasher dying and being replaced has kind of become a running joke.
SunfireUrA55 - 11/16/2012, 4:28 PM
No replacing white characters with blacks is NOT diversity. Where are the Asian MALES that doesn't do Karate at? Or the Hispanic dude that doesn't have accents?
If you are going to do it, don't do the stereotype them. I'm so sick of those stupid one dimensional characters.
