Who thought making Star-Lord's hair look like Adam Levine's gay hairdo from SNL would be a good idea?

Anyways, looks okay, I'll pick it up.

Has Steve McNiven departed slightly from his usual style or is it just me? It works really well but it looks different to his normal work.
IronDean2099 - 2/5/2013, 2:40 PM
Maybe it's the colors (which are awesome by the way) or the fact that there's not as many lines as he usually does.
JordanKing - 2/5/2013, 2:42 PM
Now I see it, he kind of looks like Mr. Pratt. In the penciled version at least.
KeefNCookies - 2/5/2013, 2:44 PM
Great art, terrible costume designs. Bendis is overrated and I definitely dont have any intention of supporting him.
Jollem - 2/5/2013, 2:48 PM
@GambitFreak - probably the same people who thought it'd be a good idea to give rdjr. a justin bieber hairdo :)
laughterman26 - 2/5/2013, 2:49 PM

Jollem - 2/5/2013, 2:49 PM

marvel72 - 2/5/2013, 2:59 PM
after reading bendis all new x-men,i'm more excited for this book than ever before.
lapress - 2/5/2013, 2:59 PM
hopefully they explain what happened after the Thanos Imperative and why he's blonde now.
KeefNCookies - 2/5/2013, 3:03 PM
Agree to disagree.

He's no Jeph Loeb... he has done SOME good things for Marvel, but hes has his specialties... he's not suited for anything and everything IMO. But hey, to each their own. I know I cant stand him 80% of the time.
Havensent - 2/5/2013, 3:04 PM
My goodness do I LOVE me some McNiven art. The man is a genius.
Jollem - 2/5/2013, 3:05 PM
@KeefNCookies - loeb is the man as well
wolverinesfury - 2/5/2013, 3:06 PM
Well this better much confirms Star-Lord will no longer wear the helmet/mask.
jimoakley666 - 2/5/2013, 3:08 PM
Very nice artwork from McNiv. I like the new costume designs, but much preferred the glowy-eyed-German-helmet Star Lord used to wear.
DefcoN - 2/5/2013, 3:08 PM
A must buy for me.
IronDean2099 - 2/5/2013, 3:39 PM
Bendis has been fantastic on Ultimate Spider-Man and New Avengers. Secret War was great. He's not the be all and end all of comics like Marvel have treated him.
OrganizedChaos - 2/5/2013, 3:39 PM
RIP Starlord's helmet......WHY?
FightAs0ne - 2/5/2013, 3:39 PM
I want to start reading GOTG (need to expand my library) Tips on where I should start?
OrganizedChaos - 2/5/2013, 3:40 PM
I know McNiven said he wanted to draw Starlord with more facial emotions, but its not like his helmet doesn't have a retractable faceplate....
OrganizedChaos - 2/5/2013, 3:41 PM

Annihilation, the Guardians of the Galaxy books from 2008, Thanos Imperative, and the first story arc of Avengers Assemble

Star Lord needs his mask. Great art though. Hope this is good, and Star Lord gets his mask soon!
JustDame - 2/5/2013, 5:05 PM
McNiven is really really good.
Xiim - 2/5/2013, 5:42 PM
My one hope is that Star-Lord killed Richard Rider in a fashion that is permanent enough to make fanboys shut up.
Ramiel - 2/5/2013, 6:38 PM
Great art.
