Jobin - 6/8/2014, 2:17 PM
CYCLOPS is a terrible character. All he can do is shoot lasers form his eyes. He is no different than a guy with a gun/laser gun.

Screw this young adult crap

It is disturbing anyone would write from that vantage point and news flash your not gonna do twilight number s

Rant over

@ Jobin

1. Cyclops doesn't shoot lasers.

2. His power is strong enough to destroy an entire sentinel in one shot. Its even been described as being able to pulverize Adamantium.

3. He's one of the two best leaders in the Marvel Universe. The other being Captain America. If it wasn't for Cyclops' leadership then the X-Men would have died countless times. Iron Man himself has described Cyclops' leadership as being so good that it could almost be a 2nd mutation the way he analyzes every situation and reacts with the absolute best outcome.

4. Anyone that judges a character by their power alone is needs to look at the big picture.

5. If you aren't going to like something, at least be educated on WHY you dont like it.
CorndogBurglar - 6/8/2014, 2:41 PM
And for [frick]s sake, can we just get rid of the giant X on his face and give him his visor back? His costume is awesome except for that.
storyteller - 6/8/2014, 2:42 PM
Well it's a pretty freaking awesome power.

Also they need to decide once and for all if Cyclops new costume is black or dark red.
Bl00dwerK - 6/8/2014, 2:45 PM
Don't care for the art very much...
CorndogBurglar - 6/8/2014, 2:50 PM
@ Storyteller

Absolutely. Cyke's power is ridiculously strong. There are also much worse powers to be stuck with. Which is why Jobin's comment was crazy. He doesn't even know what Cyke's power is or what it can do.
DoubleDion - 6/8/2014, 2:51 PM
I dont get whats happening in Marvel comics anymore... i remember a time where everything seemed coherent, nowadays yea... no idea
TheStranger - 6/8/2014, 3:02 PM
@Corngdog Well said, also I agree we need to get rid of it.

What ship is that in the picture? Totally looks like "Serenity". lol
marvel72 - 6/8/2014, 3:05 PM
my favorite x-title at the moment, all new x-men is good as well but just not as good as this.
Alfredo27 - 6/8/2014, 3:07 PM
the new mask is beneficial as he is more powerful than ever. So bigger the beam radius the more he can take out.

Its not actually a laser its energy overflow from another dimension.
SugarYumYum - 6/8/2014, 3:15 PM
I don't mind the X visor but his new duds do look much better without it:

Seems like cosplayers may prefer it too:

Cyclops has been my favorite X-Man since day 1 (which for me would be 1988),his incredible leadership skills aside his power also creates a vulnerability to the character that makes him that much more interesting. And he is one of the only other mutants (Xavier and Magneto aside)that has the charisma to sway others to his cause. In short,he's a badass.
CorndogBurglar - 6/8/2014, 3:47 PM

Thats a good point. When you look at all Mutant leaders, it really does come down to those 3.
CorndogBurglar - 6/8/2014, 3:49 PM

Right. His eyes are doorways to another dimension thats constantly producing the concussive force that spills out of his eyes when he ooens them.
Alfredo27 - 6/8/2014, 4:02 PM
but I think this is a more recent explanation. I think for the vast majority of his history they were just concussive lasers. Ever since the early 2000's marvel has been making mutant powers become more and more mystical. Its really lame.
Alfredo27 - 6/8/2014, 4:09 PM
Infact my 2003 Marvel Xmen Encyclopedia has no mention of his powers being tied to another dimension. It merely states his powers are they his eyes continuously release an optic force beams which is fairly ambiguous. As Havok powers atleast in 2003 are mentioned to be solar based plasma generation I would assume that cyclops powers would atleast be somewhat related. So that being said are Havoks powers now also associated with energy from another dimension?
LordHuck - 6/8/2014, 4:47 PM

When were they ever described as being able to pulverize Adamantium.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
LordHuck - 6/8/2014, 4:49 PM

Cyclops does metabolize solar energy, its what allows him to open the apertures to the red energy dimension that are housed in his eyes.
staypuffed - 6/8/2014, 4:53 PM
Both covers (particularly the variant) are great.
Ramiel - 6/8/2014, 5:16 PM
Cyclops is the man!

RaleighAntrobus - 6/8/2014, 6:55 PM
Pity we'll never see Cyclops done proper justice in the films... Another reason why I can't take Fox-Men seriously.
damntree - 6/8/2014, 9:25 PM
Cyclops, like most X-men, is a lame ass.
SimpleeComplex - 6/9/2014, 3:06 AM
@jobin does not read comics.
jimoakley666 - 6/9/2014, 5:51 AM
Nice artwork. Like that fist cover too.
Alfredo27 - 6/9/2014, 6:01 AM
Fox-men movies are alot better than the Bullshit marvel/disney make. Thor 2 is alot worse than Wolverine Origins even.

AOA: Cyclops blasted off Wolverines hand, Adamantium bones and all, but Wolverine was so close that he also took out one of cyclops eyes.
Alfredo27 - 6/9/2014, 6:02 AM
good one damntreee they are only the most popular comic book team in history.

I guess I would qualify the Avengers as gayass.
CorndogBurglar - 6/9/2014, 7:20 AM
@ Lordhuck

X-Cutioner's Song part 9 says exactly that.

He also blew off Wolverine's hand in Age of Apocalypse.
SimpleeComplex - 6/9/2014, 12:08 PM
I guess logan's tendon in his hand not being made of adamanitum makes sense as to why Cyclops was able to blow it off. I forgot why it didn't regenerate though.
SimpleeComplex - 6/9/2014, 12:11 PM
@alfredo u didn't even like CA:TWS? did you prefer emo-fest DOFP?
damntree - 6/9/2014, 12:32 PM
@alfredo - Do you have any opinions of your own or do you just worry about what other people like?
