Just hurry up and bring Peter back into regular continuity again

700.1 wasn't that great, will probably skip these issues

Superior is a fantastic read, far better than Amazing has been for a long while. Slotts doing a fantastic job, great story, be great seeing Peter deal with Ocks decisions once he returns, as he is in several ways 'Superior'. I've read so many Peter titles, this is a nice fresh story and sets up interesting possibilities for when Peter inevitably returns, which hopefully isn't too soon
DEVLIN712 - 12/8/2013, 5:14 AM
It's not that I hate Superior, I just far prefer Peter Parker to be the real Spider-man
BaronZemo - 12/8/2013, 5:18 AM
Bring back Peter Marvel!
Jobu - 12/8/2013, 5:23 AM
Attempted spider related racial humor. Terrific.

I loved 700.1, I thought it was a great book. The art complimented the story and it just worked.

Spider-Man's 'Good Ol' Days' were from 1962-1991. After McFarlane, Micheline and Salicrup left the titles Spider-Man went sharply downhill into an annoying mess of bad ideas.
Spider-Man had a storyline that flowed naturally and (key word coming here) BUILT into a saga. But that ended with 'The Clone Saga', 'Return Of Norman Osborn', J. Michael Straczynski's terrible 'Sin's Past', 'Brand New Day', Dan Slutt's 'Spider-Ock'.
Built is a key word because with the Clone Saga, Marvel stopped building new stories and chapters in Pete's life. Instead they used a less creative and entertaining route and simply revisited old, classic stories written by real better creators and retconned them. Tampering with another persons work isn't creating. In some ways Slutt,Straczynski, the shitty Quesada and others came in and played EDITOR with the great works of others in the past and just messed around with their writing, then felt like that made them a good writer.
Amazing how often the creatively deficient staff of Marvel Comics has employed retcon over new ideas in the past 20 years but it is a method used by writers with piss-poor abilities to actually conceive of new ideas. Is it a coincidence that Marvel's sales plummeted and never came back AFTER they stopped writing entertainment and began retcons, stunts, gimmicks and marketed them as 'events'? Probably not. An entertainment company that doesn't entertain is like Coke filling their bottles and cans with water alone.

So not only does Marvel need to Bring Back Peter Parker, they need to bring back true creators and create entertainment and let go of the hacks who create things like 'Clone Saga','Brand New Day', 'Sins Past', and the immortal stink of 'Spider-Ock'!

Peter Parker has to come back soon.
XavierLehnsherr - 12/8/2013, 7:54 AM
Peter doesn't deserve the life that Otto earned for him.
Carnage302 - 12/8/2013, 8:09 AM
You people? I think I'm offended. I miss the Parker humor.
campblood - 12/8/2013, 8:42 AM
we all know stewie is going to go back in time and save peter from being hit by that car
WruceBayne - 12/8/2013, 8:55 AM
"Bring Peter Parker back". Suck it up, he's dead. If you don't like it, it's at least 700 back issues you can read.
Tainted87 - 12/8/2013, 9:11 AM
It would take a LOT to get me back into comics, but Superior Spider-man sounds awesome.
rabid - 12/8/2013, 9:14 AM
I bought this and then was immediately regretful. It must have been an unused script from way back. Classic Spidey, so there's that, but it doesn't tie into the ongoing. And right now, all I really care about is Superior Spider-Man. Otto is truly Superior, and I look forward to Peter learning a few things from him when he inevitably returns.
rabid - 12/8/2013, 9:14 AM
Stewie is totally the one driving that car. I just know it.
TheDpool - 12/8/2013, 9:29 AM
Quite like the art work being used here
WruceBayne - 12/8/2013, 9:30 AM
@rabid- Nope. Jason Statham or Quagmire is going to be driving that car.
Equivocal - 12/8/2013, 9:43 AM

is the other way around !

Otto does NOT deserve the life that Peter gave him !

and be the way, does anybody know if this Peter is the one After of Before OMD ??

nld3 - 12/8/2013, 9:52 AM
Yes Firebrand but now he looks like Firelord?
Dunejedi - 12/8/2013, 10:09 AM
@Yingyangpalms I couldn't have said it better myself.

@Wrucebayne I want you to remember you said that when the shoe is on the other foot.
WruceBayne - 12/8/2013, 10:30 AM
@Dunejedi1- I don't care who's under spiderman's mask. I'm just tired of people whining about Peter Parker. You read the comics for "Spiderman", you don't care about what Peter Parker does out of costume, you don't care what Peter Parker ate this morning, you dont care what bills Peter Parker has to pay. You only care about what "Spiderman" does.
Vaportrail - 12/8/2013, 10:53 AM
WruceBayne, you couldn't be more wrong.
The man behind the mask is still the one who speaks through it. The stories are completely different with Ock in there and that's not the character we all love.

I won't be reading Spider-Man again until Peter Parker being featured it is no longer a news item.
capcyclopsftw - 12/8/2013, 11:09 AM
WruceBayne - that is where you are wrong. When Stan Lee created Marvel, he did it with the intent that you care about the people behind the mask as well. That's why we all love Peter, because he is us.

DC is made to make you care about the cape.
CaptainObvious - 12/8/2013, 11:15 AM
@XavierLehnsherr- Yes, defend the evil psychopath who not only murdered a superhero, but hundreds of innocent people. I don't even need to remind you he also contemplated raping Mary Jane one time.
WruceBayne - 12/8/2013, 11:25 AM
@capcyclopsftw- Well bro, good luck on finding those stories on how much Peter Parker pays in rent. Peter Parker doesn't make Spiderman interesting, Spiderman makes Peter Parker interesting.
WruceBayne - 12/8/2013, 11:26 AM
@Vaportrail- That goes for you too.
GUNSMITH - 12/8/2013, 12:19 PM
adamcawa - 12/8/2013, 12:36 PM
"Peter Parker doesn't make Spiderman interesting, Spiderman makes Peter Parker interesting."

This is the truth. However, instead of figuring out a way to make Peter Parker fresh, make him mature and be relatable again, they take a cheap route.

While I find myself often cheering on Spidey Ock, I also think in the back of my mind, this is only making it more obvious how flawed and unrelatable Peter Parker's character was. If and when he comes back, I hope he finally "grows up" and learns to deal with his own personal life with that same responsibility he's always yammering about.
ScionStorm - 12/8/2013, 1:36 PM
WruceBayne@ Nope Peter Parker is what makes Spider-Man interesting. WIthout Peter that costume is just a flashy suit and those powers are just gimmick action. Peter brings the character. I don't even know how you can make a statement like that given the majority of all Spider-Man comics follow a distinct format of heavy narration and inner commentary from the character behind the mask giving Spider-Man his trademark personality.

Peter's name appears in the title before his alter ego's in the second series he was given for Pete's sake. Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man!

Whenever I have picked up a Superior comic now all I see under the mask is a disturbing brutality bent on achieving new levels of egotism twice a month.
MercSoul - 12/8/2013, 1:39 PM
maybey if this sells more than the superior spiderman they will give us back peter in a regular series again
Ancar - 12/8/2013, 1:55 PM
This "Superior" shitte is pure crap. DELETE this [frick]ing Slott period and bring back Peter!
AlSimmons - 12/8/2013, 7:13 PM
"The Black Lodge"??? "Fire walk with me," is all I have to say.
wcwpoet - 12/9/2013, 9:00 AM
I will say this while I thought Slott's initial run on the character was fairly decent, he's created a story-line that is worse than The Clone Saga and Sins Pasts combined. While I hated JMS's Sins Pasts story-line it was only really the Gwen having kids with Norman Osborn that irked me. I mean if it had turned out to be Peter's Kids which was initially what he wanted to do I think that would've been a damn fine story. But this Spider-Ock thing was far beyond that it's like Slott decided let me take a steaming dump all over the character and then continue to wipe my butt with him. I know Peter will be back when ASM 2 kicks into theaters, but these stories just make me wish it was sooner.
Lostcause - 12/9/2013, 12:30 PM
I just like comics...most of them anyway. I've read every single Parker book to date, in someway shape or form. I miss his banter with the bad guys. Doc Ock spidy was done very well, he's just a different Spidy. Maybe Pete comes back in a differnt body to become a different wall cralwer. Anyway I'll read it. Keeps me from hating my wife;)
