This July, big guns, big pouches, and big action all return as your favorite mercenary goes toe-to-toe with that band of militant mutants in DEADPOOL VS. X-FORCE #1 – the first issue in a bombastic new limited series from writer Duane Swierczynski and artist Pepe Larraz! Journey back to the long-forgotten days of the 1990s, when two characters made their thunderous debut and would go on to change the face of Marvel Comics forever.

That’s right – we’re talking about Cable & Deadpool! In this all-new tale, experience the duo’s very first meeting, well before their first comic book appearance together in New Mutants #98, as Cable and his soon to be X-Force race through the timestream to stop a reckless mercenary (that’s Deadpool!) before he destroys American history for good!

Join Cable and his band of mutants as they hunt Deadpool through the annals of American History before he can alter the space-time continuum as we know it! Can they stop him in time? Don’t miss the start of the blast from the past ride that will have everyone on the edge of their seat when DEADPOOL VS. X-FORCE #1 erupts off of the shelves this July!

great stuff in the 90s.

things got ugly the next decade.
that's when they got real ugly. 90s had style.

u can't hold up the worst of any decade of anything as the example.
u gotta look at the best of it.

and it's great cuz you can get them for so cheap now.
god bless the 90s.

dethpillow - 6/2/2014, 8:29 PM
i would've liked them to go a little more retro with the artwork, but i guess u don't wanna hit people on the head with it or anything.

two sides of the same coin...

mgeoff88 - 6/3/2014, 12:38 AM
This looks pretty interesting.

@NovaCorpsFan I remember you mentioned you're from the UK, so the fashion over there was probably better than it was in the US:

There is some great shows and cartoons from the 90's though:

Lol! I feel old now.
dethpillow - 6/3/2014, 1:24 AM
@mgeoff88 - :)

i always thought that was weird in the 90s of the United States,
how everyone had to be doing something with their hands.
Keep em in your pockets, Cross your arms, Fold your hands.
I remember that. I guess we all do, pretty drilled into our heads.

"KCF, KCF, KCF (slowly now), KCF, KCF (pick it up, pick it up)!"

Remember in Morning Recitationals?
I didn't really understand that much.

My District Mistress held me in confidence and gave me many benefits and favors that other district children did not receive and many times, she explained that this was becuz "the Communist Devil makes work for idle hands". and then to save me from a sinner's fate, she would always show me tasks I could perform to keep my hands busy while she was around.

Kids these days don't understand how the 90s was a different time, indeed.

The brilliant 90s. Remember when Marvel started their own publishing company.
dellamorte1872 - 6/3/2014, 4:25 AM
Love the old force roster from the 90s. Boom-boom was awesome way better than characters like FANTOMAX but then again I never liked the character really. This roster just screams force!
newmutantsRETURNS - 6/3/2014, 1:27 PM
As u can see by my def GEEKED out over mutants/x force are one of my fave teams of all time....was great 2 see sunspot and warpath on film....
sameoldthing - 6/3/2014, 3:28 PM
Anything LIEFELD related needs to be forever forgotten.
His "work" & that period mostly sucked hard.

Deadpool became cool by other writers/artists.
Comics history is mostly good stuff aside from some garbage in the 90's.
THEBAT2016 - 6/3/2014, 7:33 PM
I hope X-Men Apocalypse finally brings back the suits and costumes that I grew up with in the 90's. This is like there last chance to really pull it off with no excuses. I really want to see Cable also. I can't see this next film coming out without him. There as not even been as much as a reference to him since the X-Men movies started.
PunkRockJesus - 6/3/2014, 8:26 PM
Deadpool [frick]ing sucks.. I hate this goddamn awful character.
xstryker - 6/3/2014, 9:25 PM
Love the music, movies, and TV of the 90s. Hate the comics. Rob Liefeld, nuff said. Also Bucket Head Thing, Superman Red/Blue, Maggott, Thunderstrike, Azrael, the clone saga, Terry [frick]ing Kavanagh and Howard [frick]ing Mackie. And Jean Grey wearing this goddamned eyesore:
xstryker - 6/3/2014, 9:30 PM
And Hawkeye in this turd of a getup:
xstryker - 6/3/2014, 9:34 PM
Remember the complete mess that was the Onslaught crossover? Which led to Heroes Reborn, when Liefeld was paid actual money to draw this:
xstryker - 6/3/2014, 10:03 PM
Good 90s comics:
Kingdom Come
Infinity Gauntlet
The Long Halloween
Peter David's X-Factor
The Sandman
From Hell
Morrison's JLA
Flex Mentallo
The Invisibles
Guardian Devil
xstryker - 6/3/2014, 10:09 PM
Forgot Transmetropolitan, The Authority, Astro City, and Sin City. Yes, there were some great works in the 90s, but largely outside the mainstream.
Alfredo27 - 6/4/2014, 7:04 AM
If not for the 90s being so awesome for X-men then I doubt we see the CBM we have today. The MCU would definately not be around.
Azbat - 6/4/2014, 10:31 AM

Forgot the Knightfall storylines.
case - 6/5/2014, 3:40 AM
Ha. Looks great.
Check out that chick's shades.
LEOSTRATOR - 6/5/2014, 11:18 AM
90s was far better than what is going on now, from either big two. Writers and artist weren't afraid to try something new and fresh, unlike the new 52 and marvel now. Sometimes you get some weird and bad stuff when creativity flow, people with out a imagination wouldn't know anything about it. Some idiot always bring up big pouches and Rob Liefeld, but creativity was at its peak than.
