COMICS: The Beginning of the End? "Goblin Nation" Begins in SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN #26

The stage is set for the biggest Superior Spider-Man story of them all! And it starts right here in the Earth-shattering Superior Spider-Man #26, from blockbuster creators Dan Slott, Humberto Ramos, Javier Rodriguez, and Marcos Martin...

Nobody has pushed Peter Parker harder than the Green Goblin. But as Spider-Man’s greatest nemesis returns, will Otto Octavius be able to withstand the onslaught? Moving in the shadows, the Goblin and his army have prepared for war right under his very nose! And the first battle is upon them as the Green Goblin goes glider-to-glider with the original Hobgoblin! And only one of them is walking away...

I hate Humberto Ramos' art WITH A PASSION.
jasonicus - 12/30/2013, 12:01 PM
His art is sometimes awesome but not always. The goblins look dumb.
SkullFace616 - 12/30/2013, 12:02 PM
Love Ramos's art!
VIRILEMAN - 12/30/2013, 12:07 PM
Dan Slott is such a horrible horrible horrible writer. How in the world is he still writing Spidey? This comics looks like SH!T.
themidnightking - 12/30/2013, 12:09 PM
At least Peter Parker will return about a month before The Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes out
VIRILEMAN - 12/30/2013, 12:09 PM
I mean seriously look at this crap! A guy with an 8-ball head! Dan Slott is such crap it makes my head hurt.
LensmanMatt92 - 12/30/2013, 12:09 PM
Begun the Goblin War has.
VIRILEMAN - 12/30/2013, 12:10 PM
Stop reading his stuff guys. You guys are just feeding this monster every time you give them money.
Hellsboy - 12/30/2013, 12:12 PM
Everything is earth shattering for marvel the issue after this is the galaxy shattering event of the year!
It just builds up hype same with all other companies
Hellsboy - 12/30/2013, 12:13 PM
Btw superior is still terrible
TonyMasters - 12/30/2013, 12:24 PM
Goblins face...
VIRILEMAN - 12/30/2013, 12:25 PM
Then you've been part of the problem fangz. If it's garbage STOP reading! Spider-Man is too beloved for his own good. Even when the book sucks it still sells well because people love Spidey.
SpiderFraud - 12/30/2013, 12:33 PM
Mark Waid + Spidey.....please let that go down! This whole Superior Spider-Man seems interning but is the writhing really bad or people just butt hurt that it aint Peter?

darklighter1 - 12/30/2013, 12:34 PM
I may be the only guy enjoying this turn of Otto being Spidey. I thought I would despise it at first but grew to love it. Spidey with an edge but not all broody like that Scarlet Spider Kaine crap. But I do agree that Humberto Ramos' art is ridiculously bad. Makes everything look like that teen titans anime cartoon.
sicknimon - 12/30/2013, 12:36 PM
Fangz is right. Superior and team up are both fantastic series. The implications that are being created now for Peters return are going to make the next Parker phase of Spidey awesome. From dumping MJ to being a d to aunt may, this series will set the tone for an all new Spidey universe for YEARS to come in a way its never been done before. THANK YOU SLOTT FOR ALLOWING A BREATH OF FRESH AIR TO AN OTHERWISE BEATEN TO DEATH STORYLINE THAT OTHERWISE HAD NOWHERE ELSE TO GO!!!!!!
Bl00dwerK - 12/30/2013, 12:40 PM
Fans have to read it because they don't want a hole in their knowledge...
sicknimon - 12/30/2013, 12:40 PM
Na Fangz, ultimately I bet the goblin war will be the reveal that Oc is Spideywith the capture of what's her name. I bet it will focus more on that in the end than ending as a big goblin war

And Ock has totallu been a villian all the way threw. His one redemption shot was in the last issue of team up with submariner and..
... it didn't happen. Ock has been the biggest a hole and the contrast how that effects Pete's life is brilliant
sicknimon - 12/30/2013, 12:50 PM
Agreed, it's been amazing but can't go on for much longer.
rogmel - 12/30/2013, 12:51 PM
What a bunch of damn whiners. Superior has been outstanding from the get-go. Just accept that somethings change (and will probably change back soon). You don't have to be a fan of the change but saying it's horrible tells me you probably haven't read it.
sicknimon - 12/30/2013, 12:52 PM
fangz- the die has been cast buddy
sicknimon - 12/30/2013, 12:57 PM
At Goldenone- pretty sure its kingsley but well... blackbolt and starlord are back with no explanation, and kingsley came back before slott started
sicknimon - 12/30/2013, 12:58 PM
@ intruder agreed
spahn - 12/30/2013, 12:59 PM
i think the superior run has been "amazing". slott has done a great job in writing the stories and giving a new dimension to the spider-man character.

the superior run isn't going to last forever so I would advise you enjoy it for what it is and know that your real friendly neighborhood spider-man will make his return in the near future.

as far as ramos' art is concerned, i think it's also terrible. he's had a few spots here in there where its not as bad as he usually is but that goblin face panel is just horrific. i do hope when the superior run is over he also jumps ship and gives a more traditional spider-man artist a run at the series.
rabid - 12/30/2013, 12:59 PM
These Hobgoblins are Kingsley and Macendale. Leeds is dead. I think.
rabid - 12/30/2013, 1:01 PM
Ramos' art is an eyesore, but it fits the Spider-Man book so well. His Venom arc was excellent, despite looking like Mickey Mouse on acid. There aren't that many artists that can show the energy and motion of bounding spider-peoples.
rabid - 12/30/2013, 1:05 PM
Who are we guessing is in the Goblin mask? Norman out of a coma and without adaptoid powers? Peter's mind in Norman's body? Harry on a psychotic break? One of the awakened coma patients? Gabe Stacy*** back for revenge? Gabe O'Hara come to fight his brother?

*** my guess.
sicknimon - 12/30/2013, 1:07 PM
I think its secretly MJ from another dimension.... j/k. :-)
Havensent - 12/30/2013, 1:19 PM
Ramos art at times is disgusting to look at. Some of the most ugly faces and panels in comics. I really wish they'd quit using him so much.
SigmaCenturion - 12/30/2013, 1:27 PM
I'm seriously considering getting this series when it comes in Trade Paper Back. The idea behind Superior Spider-man is pretty interesting.
DTor91 - 12/30/2013, 1:28 PM
Yeah this story has actually been really good. And Ramos' work looks really good here. Want to see terrible work? Jim Valentino.
DTor91 - 12/30/2013, 1:30 PM
Ramos' work has a ton of energy and dynamics, which a to of working artists today fail to have. But you guys don't see that. His Goblin is old looking!? He's the worst artist ever!

You guys really don't understand half of what makes narrative art work.
DTor91 - 12/30/2013, 1:30 PM
And for the record….I think that Goblin looks very cool. Sue me.
SageMode - 12/30/2013, 1:48 PM
Just give us the real damn Peter Parker back.
SageMode - 12/30/2013, 1:51 PM
Ramos should bring the Crimson series back.
ItalianPsycho - 12/30/2013, 1:59 PM

Trust me, they will bring him back. Eventually, somebody in the comics will find out about Ock, and find a way to bring Peter back. Comic book 101: when a major character dies, he/she is guaranteed to come back.
HelaGood - 12/30/2013, 2:24 PM
I hope Doc Ock dies. soon. for good.
DrDoom - 12/30/2013, 2:29 PM
Definitely not a fan of the art
