Another Fu Manchu-esque supervillain, way to go Marvel.

Looks like a good read,Rick Remender is a solid writer.Love that cover, too bad Jim Cheung isn't also doing the interiors.

You know you would think Captain America would be hunting down the red skull who has declared war on mutants........or maybe he's okay with that.
TheLetter10 - 12/17/2013, 4:19 PM

seriously? So all Asian characters are suddenly "fu manchu-esque" to you?

It's obvious this dude is playing off the Viet Cong history based on these panels alone.

Why does every story nowadays "have the change everything"?

It's almost like they feel they have to sell the story before it's told. Why don't the Trail Blazers just Internetize the industry, which would severely cut the overhead costs, and pass those cuts under the consumer therefore allowing younger kids to buy these issues without overstating their importance.
TheHood - 12/17/2013, 4:50 PM
@SpideyQuad Blame Stan Lee, he started this hyping mess. Either that or he was the best at it.
OxnardMontalvo - 12/17/2013, 5:03 PM
Remender is the reason I dropped this title......after 45 years.
WeAreVenom86 - 12/17/2013, 5:46 PM

We're just wondering when there is finally gonna be a Captain America comic of The good ol' Red, White, an' Blue scout punching out El Presidente OBAMA.

We Have Spoken!
TheGreenBastard - 12/17/2013, 5:51 PM
Cap looks great.
AGoodHonestMan - 12/17/2013, 5:51 PM
Marvel this Fu Manchu-esque character is a big 'no no' in the 21st Century.
ThePowerCosmic - 12/17/2013, 8:00 PM
Jim Cheung is one of the best comic artists in the biz IMO! He needs his own constant book not just covers. His work on Infinity 1 & 6 was awesome!
rabid - 12/17/2013, 9:04 PM
Why is this character a big no-no? He's not anymore indicative of his country than the cyborg psycho Nuke with the US flag tattooed on his face.
This Cap storyline has very nice art. That's the nicest thing I can say for it.
MightyZeus - 12/17/2013, 9:20 PM
I like the cover but i'm not a fan of the interior. I'll pick this up though.
damntree - 12/17/2013, 9:40 PM
@TheLetter - Don't hold it against Soberchimera; all Asians look the same to him.
mgeoff88 - 12/17/2013, 11:23 PM
The real trouble starts when his brother The Hangnail shows up. That guy is bad news.

loki668 - 12/17/2013, 11:29 PM

Wait until their cousin "Press-On Nail" shows up.
AGoodHonestMan - 12/18/2013, 12:29 AM
@ rabid

Because you can have a chinese character that hates the west without dressing him up like a Fu Manchu character. Iron Nail falls into the same catagory as The Mandarian and Yellow Claw, horrible caracatures of Chinese Communism. Sure you can argue that both characters were made in the 60's - 70's, but this is the 21st Century all this stereotypical bullshit is pathetic. Dumbass!
loki668 - 12/18/2013, 12:34 AM
We've already heard from their henchman "Nailbiter"!! He's been hiding among us all along!!
admiralhowdy - 12/18/2013, 2:49 AM
Cap would look even better if they'd give him his damn wings back.
rabid - 12/18/2013, 7:27 AM
What's Iron Nail done for China or Communism? Does that not make Nuke a racist/political caricature of the USA that shouldn't be shown? Which countries are we allowed to have villains from and which are not allowed? What stereotype is being perpetuated here exactly, because when think China, I don't automatically picture a shirtless man with a meteor rock in his chest?
Joementum - 12/18/2013, 7:53 AM
Todays' Chinese communists dress mostly in western suits or military uniforms.

Only a fictional nationalists who wants Imperial rule would dress this way.
Joementum - 12/18/2013, 7:55 AM
I think Yellow Claw got his name from a severely ingrown nail.
RetroFit - 12/18/2013, 7:56 AM
This looks terrible. Like some ignorant stereotyped story out of the early 70s. Attacking the Capitalist West? Are you kidding me? Iron Fail! And Dr. Mindbubble? Sounds like a villain from the Powerpuff Girls or something.
