COMICS: The Origin Of The Mad Titan Explored In Lettered Preview Of THANOS RISING #1

It's not just Marvel Studios that has big plans for the Mad Titan after his debut in The Avengers last year. Jason Aaron (Thor: God of Thunder) and Simone Bianchi (Wolverine) will further explore his origins in this Wednesday's Thanos Rising #1. Check it out!

• What comes after “Marvel NOW!”? Whatever it is, it starts HERE.
• The vile face left movie audiences in shock after last summer’s Marvel Studios’ “The Avengers” movie, but who is this eerily disturbing villain?
• Thanos rises as the unrivaled rogue of wretchedness in this gripping tale of tragedy, deceit and destiny. Where did this demi-god of death and destruction come from and...more importantly what does he want?
• The answers come from the incredible creative team of Jason Aaron (Wolverine, X-Men Origins) and Simone Bianchi (Wolverine, Astonishing X-Men) as they take you on journey that will not only change the course of one boy’s life...
...but will soon change the very nature of the Marvel Universe.

[frick] I need to read Thor God of Thunder. I can't find any early issues at my comic shop. The farthest back they have is issue 6 or 7. I'll pick up the trade when it comes out.

Aahh come on, couldn't Thanos be the only purple person from Blue or Green people?? Next to a giant gas planet millions of mile away from the sun?.........wait....I guess since they are so far from the sun they would be pretty pale.

After Thanos was born, his father went to Earth and beat the shit out of the Purple Man due to a mistaken assumption.

Lord Loki has spoken

Hmmm I thought the origin of Thanos was Kirby had a falling out with Marvel, and went to Dc to create the New Gods. Marvel was then inspired by Darkseid.
Bark4Soul - 3/30/2013, 3:51 PM
I'm more of a marvel guy but darkseid>thanos, i'd check this if it were worth while
OmegaEffect - 3/31/2013, 2:54 PM
