COMICS: The Strangest Mutant of All Takes Center Stage in ALL-NEW DOOP #1!

This April, the strangest mutant of them all is thrust into the spotlight in All-New Doop #1 – a new series from Doop co-creator and legendary X-scribe Peter Milligan and blockbuster artist David Lafuente! No, we're not kidding. Hit the jump for artwork and details!

Who is Doop? Actually…what is Doop? Living in the margins of the X-Men, Doop’s origins have always remained shrouded in mystery as he hovered around with his video camera – freaking out readers and fellow X-Men alike. But his time has finally come! Where did Doop come from? What is he? The Doop shall inherit the Earth! And this adventure will prove once and for all that Doop is, in fact, the most powerful X-Man!

“Doop has been a favorite character of mine ever since his first appearance in X-FORCE,” says Senior Editor Nick Lowe. “But fans have really taken notice since he’s been showing up in WOLVERINE AND THE X-MEN and his popularity has surpassed that of even Gambit and Cable! And with Doop co-creators Peter Milligan (writing) and Mike Allred (covers) involved, along with David Lafuente on interior art, this is going to be amazing.”

From the pages of the blockbuster X-Men crossover Battle of the Atom comes the story you didn’t see! Did you know Doop was an integral part of stopping the evil X-Men from the future? Don’t believe us? You will! Plus, don’t miss Doop finally express his feelings for Kitty Pryde – in a way only Doop can!

Don’t miss an untold tale of one of the X-Men’s weirdest that will have you on the edge of your seat when ALL-NEW DOOP #1 hits comic shops and digital devices this April!

It was only a matter of time. Highly marketable character to kids, great for merchandising. Perfect for the Disney model.
InfiniteMonkey - 1/10/2014, 10:50 AM

If Mike Allred was on board for this probably. As he's not, very probably not. I hope it works out anyway.

You losers have no goddamn depth of character do you? This is a fun comic that has nothing to do with Disney or marvel's "kiddie" image. Why is it impossible for some of you to have fun? It is a limited series using a character from X-Static, it is supposed to be a comedy. Unlike DC Marvels comics branch out from mellow drama to include comedies like Deadpool & NextWave.

Why are most people on here an enemy of fun? I understand wanting less comedy in a movie but to shit on anything lighthearted is absurd.

That said, I couldn't care less about Doop or anything X-Men, but I am glad it exists so Marvels fanbase can be a little broader that DC's fan base of dour manchildren.

Oh, it's the creature that made me think "what the hell is Slimer doing there?" whilst reading X-Men comic previews here on CBM.

"his popularity has surpassed that of even Gambit and Cable"

Is this a serious statement? Is he really a popular character? I honestly have no idea...
Magus - 1/10/2014, 11:07 AM
I think it is more a jab at shitty 90's character losing popularity
Doopie - 1/10/2014, 11:11 AM
this guy totally stole my name...he's a lot better looking tho
mrjones - 1/10/2014, 11:11 AM

lixdexia - 1/10/2014, 12:00 PM
you guys are silly, doop is awesome. he's a lot like squirrel girl, he just looks like slimer and speaks in a language the reader can't understand.
Destruktor2k - 1/10/2014, 12:06 PM
His name should be changed to "Poop" coz this title is going to be just that.. pooop

Foolkiller - 1/10/2014, 12:24 PM
Some serious judgments being handed out here on something not even on the shelves yet. There is plenty of room for a ridiculous character like Doop, even when he barely communicates. All that has to happen is the interaction of characters around him. There is a lot of scope for some decent comedy. The idea of a super-hero is preposterous,so why not take the mickey out of it every so often.
ChiliConCarney - 1/10/2014, 12:49 PM
Damnit... Now I want some Ecto-Cooler! Who am I kidding? I always want Ecto Cooler...

CPBuff22 - 1/11/2014, 12:07 AM

RyGoR - 1/11/2014, 6:31 AM
It seems to me that if you find this oh so ridiculous then why even waste your time commenting on it? Just give that a thought every single one of you who is hating

I might have to pick it up just for the Allred covers and think about can be the proud owner of a Doop #1... That's an awesome thing to be able to say lol

So if ya wanna keep hating be my guest it won't sway anyone from buying this title it'll still sell just let us wait and see...btw boys we are all comic book fans here, riiiiiiight? :)
