Scarlett Johansson Kicks Butt In New LUCY Extended Television Spot

Actors, Scarlett Johansson ("Avengers: Age of Ultron") and Morgan Freeman ("Batman Begins") have teamed up with director Luc Besson ("Léon: The Professional") for Lucy. Come see a new extended television spot that aired during the NBA finals.

From La Femme Nikita and The Professional to The Fifth Element, writer/director Luc Besson has created some of the toughest, most memorable female action heroes in cinematic history. Now, Besson directs Scarlett Johansson in Lucy, an action-thriller that tracks a woman accidentally caught in a dark deal who turns the tables on her captors and transforms into a merciless warrior evolved beyond human logic. Lucy also stars Academy Award® winner Morgan Freeman and is produced by Virginie Besson-Silla for EuropaCorp. Universal Pictures will distribute the movie worldwide, except for France, Benelux and China.

I have nearly no interest in this film other than the fact that I love Scarlett Johansson.

Morgan Freeman will make me see this movie, not Scarlett Johansson's boobs.
Her beauty is way overrated.

More Morgan Freeman please, especially if he's on helium.

itsn't this movie also similar to limitless (2011) starring bradley cooper but with fighting mixed in?
JediPhilosopher - 6/9/2014, 6:49 AM
It is similar. Like Lord of the Rings is similar to Harry Potter.

I love things like this that try to expand the imagination. Just thinking about the potential for what can be accomplished if we could think clearly. I mean with full access to EVERYTHING we've ever seen or read or heard. Just like Morgan Freeman said, the limits go away. If she's fighting, it's only because she's buying time for her mind to expand to the point where she won't have to, I imagine.

We can theorize what's possible, but someone with that "condition" would begin to know what's possible. Man-kind, in an attempt to protect it's "citizens" would lash out at this being who merely protected herself through never-seen-before powers, an early model of the eventual evolution of our entire species, persecuted because she was a bit early.

I'm looking forward to this like I looked forward to Stargate, before Stargate disappointed me by revealing the planet on the other side was merely populated with humans and alien overlords. Kinda depressing how that turned out.

@loki haha

@MightyZeus, Luc Besson just produced Lockout, my friend. James Mather and Stephen St. Leger directed it.

If you want to know Besson's movies, look for Nikita, The Big Blue, The Professional, The Fifth Element, Joan of Arc, Arthur and the Minimoys, and The Family.

You will like them.
Areo - 6/9/2014, 9:07 AM
I know this is science fiction, but the premise of this movie is absurd and ridiculous. Increased brain power equates to metaphysical powers...retarded.

This looks good to me. I like "new" ideas and despite its similarities to Limitless (not really similar) I think it'll be interesting.

It probably won't be nearly as good as I'm thinking it will, but I like that studios are still going with some new ideas like this. We've seen somewhat similar films before, but it's still different enough where I don't know exactly what will happen.

Scarjo is great, Morgan Freeman is great, and I like drug plots that enhance the mind. Limitless was great, and I imagine this will be fairly good as well.
