VIDEO: Matthew McConaughey And Christopher Nolan Make SDCC Debuts For INTERSTELLAR

Despite helming The Dark Knight Trilogy, director Christopher Nolan has never made an appearance at the San Diego Comic-Con. Well, both he and Interstellar star Matthew McConaughey (True Detective) surprise everyone yesterday afternoon, and you can see that here...

Comic-Con 2014

That's right, Christopher Nolan FINALLY made an appearance at Comic-Con! Not an awful lot was given away by the director or star Matthew McConaughey in terms of Interstellar plot details, but a new trailer was shown which is set to be released online within the next few weeks. The response from those lucky enough to have seen it has been overwhelmingly positive! For those of you unfamiliar with the few plot details revealed so far, "Interstellar chronicles the adventures of a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in an interstellar voyage." The cast also includes Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine, and a release date of November 7th, 2014 has been set for the movie.

I've never heard of this director.
charlie2094 - 7/25/2014, 3:52 AM
Pretty awesome that he actually appeared, after he didn't for the Dark Knight films wasn't sure if he would, great that he did.

Hopefully not too long until the trailer releases, citing the likes of Blade Runner and 2001 as inspiration is awesome, reckon this will turn out great.
FordEl - 7/25/2014, 4:09 AM

I hear that this director has done some decent, low-budget films. Wonder if they're any good? ;)
FordEl - 7/25/2014, 4:21 AM

With the way the last two movies of the trilogy fell. It woulnt have worked because they would release right before or around comic con
FordEl - 7/25/2014, 4:21 AM

TheDarkKryptonian - 7/25/2014, 4:29 AM
The Dark Knight trilogy and Inception really aren't the best movies he's made, in my opinion. The Prestige and Memento are his best.
staypuffed - 7/25/2014, 4:29 AM
I can't wait to see Interstellar. The trailers were fantastic.
Klone - 7/25/2014, 4:30 AM

MexicanSexyman - 7/25/2014, 5:13 AM
@ grif, now that is just a sad and pathetic statement.
mbembet - 7/25/2014, 5:23 AM
thank you Nolan!!!
MrFridayNights - 7/25/2014, 5:30 AM
Interstellar will win a Oscar for best picture.
Christopher Nolan will win a Oscar for best director.
MrFridayNights - 7/25/2014, 5:31 AM
If you think TDKR is a piece of shit then you're retarded.
ComicsBornAndBred - 7/25/2014, 5:33 AM
This is the film to make up for the few Oscar snubs. He'll either get both best picture and director or one or the other
tonytony - 7/25/2014, 5:35 AM
nolan! nolan! nolan! you are the GOAT!
CaptainProg - 7/25/2014, 5:41 AM
Best thing he's done.... to get Zack. That's it.
NeoBaggins - 7/25/2014, 5:49 AM
I remember that one time when Nolan made that BATMAN BEGINS movie and then, and then the other directors wanted their CBMs to be BATMAN BEGINS too. Then he made that Dark Knight movie that made a billion dollars, the one with Heath Ledger in it. Then he made that Dark Knight Rises and all the mean people here said it wouldn't be successful without Heath Ledger and then, then it like, I don't know, made MORE MONEY than Dark Knight?

Remember when he did that? It was fun.
Foxkids - 7/25/2014, 5:52 AM
Good times ahead
Steelers4190 - 7/25/2014, 5:55 AM
Thank you for TDK trilogy Nolan, but thank God you are gone so we can get a shared universe :)
PAF - 7/25/2014, 6:03 AM
Strange him coming to comic con. He never used to go because it was a little "beneath" him, him wanting an Oscar and all. And the TDKR was TRASH. I guess people can't have opinions now.
PAF - 7/25/2014, 6:05 AM
It's not like he needs seats in the theater. People will flock to anything with his name on it.
MrFridayNights - 7/25/2014, 6:11 AM
PAF TDKR is a great movie you don't know a shit about great cinema.
TheHeroGothamDeserves - 7/25/2014, 6:12 AM
Everyone's looking so casual, and there's Nolan in his shirt and suit, it just makes me grin and laugh because of the sheer awesomeness of Christopher Nolan.
weareanydaynow - 7/25/2014, 6:13 AM
@PAF Show me the quote where he said it was "beneath" him, or leave it alone, you don't know him. Dude does amazing films, they aren't for everyone, but neither are Bay's or Joss's. Like what you like, hate what you hate, but there are a lot of assumptions made blindly about Nolan that have no merit, as I'm sure a lot of DC folks do the same with Disvel these days. Who cares, if its not your thing don't click on a Nolan theme article.
PAF - 7/25/2014, 6:13 AM

It's ok if you like trash. No one is judging you.
GreenLantern519 - 7/25/2014, 6:14 AM

TDKR made about 100 Million less domestically, but about was above TDK about $80 Million Worldwide. I think they expected more, honestly, but I think the Aurora shootings really took a dig out of TDKR Domestic numbers.
