Scenes from Daredevil have been shown off at the New York Comic Con moments ago, and you can read a description right here! Meanwhile, a number of new characters have been added to the Netflix series, with the actors playing Ben Urich, The Owl and Vanessa Fisk all announced...

The Daredevil panel at this year's New York Comic-Con is currently taking place, and thanks to Newsarama, we have a brief description of some of the footage which has so far been shown off from the series. Stay tuned however as we'll be sure to update this article with more details.

A woman slowly opens the door to an apartment (It's Page), there's blood on the floor and the room is dark. She fins something in a vent. Someone sneaks up behind her and attacks her, slamming her into the wall and knocking her to the ground. And in comes Daredevil, in what looks like is likely an early makeshift costume - yeah, it's all black, straight up ninja lookng. Big fight scene commences, and both men go crashing through a window onto the rain-soaked pavement below.

After hitting the pavement out the window, we see a child asleep at a table. It's young Matt. His dad says, "get up, mtt." He tries to get him studying more. The young Matt is already blind, and touches his dad's beaten and bloody face. "Come on, Matty, get to work." And we see the adult Matt in his makeshift costume get back up. He starts to fight the perp again, using sounds to get the advantage. Karen Page comes outside and says "Who? What the hell?"

And then, a clip of Vanessa and Wilson Fisk meeting for the first time. She is a gallery worker and he's looking at a piece of art. There is very interesting cinematography. Close shots of Fisk's fingers twitching and his cuff link. It's a very soft, nuanced scene - not something we've seen a lot of in these types of movies and shows.

Loeb then introduced a clip of the offices of Nelson and Murdock. Matt, Karen, and Foggy are sitting down for a dinner that Karen made them after they successfully got her off for a crime. "I did notice you could use some help around here," Page said, and was hired by the duo.

There was some big casting news also revealed at the panel as we learned that Toby Leonard Moore (The Pacific) is Wesley, Wilson Fisk's right hand man, Bob Gunton (24) is Leland Owlsley (better known to comic book fans as The Owl), Ayelet Zurer (Man of Steel) is Vanessa Fisk and Vondie Curtis-Hall (ER) is Ben Urich. In the order they're listed above, here are each of the actors who will take on these iconic roles. The biggest change here of course is the fact that Urich will be played by an African American actor when he's always been portrayed as Caucasian in the comic books, but that really shouldn't be seen as a big deal these days. Thoughts on this casting?

UPDATE: Here's the official press release from Marvel with character descriptions.

Garnering acclaim for nuanced work in projects such as “The Pacific” and “John Wick,” Toby Leonard Moore will play Wesley, right-hand man and confidante to Wilson Fisk.

A veteran of blockbuster films “Shawshank Redemption” and “Argo,” Bob Gunton will play Leland Owlsley, an enigmatic and key figure in Wilson Fisk’s crusade to remake Hells Kitchen.

These four stars joins Charlie Cox (“Matt Murdock”), Deborah Ann Woll (“Karen Page”), Elden Henson (“Foggy Nelson”), Ayelet Zurer (“Vanessa Marianna”), with Rosario Dawson (“Claire Temple”) and Vincent D’Onofrio (“Wilson Fisk”) in the critically-lauded cast of "Marvel’s Daredevil."

“These are four of the most important roles in "Marvel’s Daredevil" and we’ve assembled actors worthy of each iconic role,” said Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Head of Television. “Ayelet, Bob, Vondie and Toby each brign a unique charisma and power to the roles, making it immediately clear why each of their characters is so vital to the war for Hell’s Kitchen.”
