ARROW: Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim Teases Green Lantern Easter Egg

Not many shows place Easter Eggs better than Arrow, having already teased the Flash and Harley Quinn this season, and last night, EP Marc Guggenheim tweeted out a photo that hints at the possible presence of a certain Emerald Knight in the Arrow world. Come check it out!

This is not the first time the show has teased Ferris Air as, if you remember, the airline was mentioned throughout Season 1 as Edward Fyers and his men tried to shoot down a Ferris Air jetliner until they were stopped by Oliver, Slade, and Shado. Could this new preview signify a more prominent presence of the airline in the near future? While the appearance of Hal Jordan or John Stewart's Green Lantern is still unlikely due to movie obligations, it cannot be completely ruled out. In case you forgot, executive producers Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim both worked on the script for 2011's Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, so an introduction of Hal Jordan, John Stewart, or Carol Ferris isn't completely out of the question for future seasons or on the Flash spin-off. Whether Reynolds or Lively reprise their roles is up for debate. Anyways, this is another nice Easter Egg from the creative team of Arrow. What do you guys think? Would you want a Green Lantern cameo in the future? Who would you want to put on the ring? Sound off below.

Arrow is a modern retelling of the DC Comic character Green Arrow. Multi-millionaire playboy Oliver Queen is missing, and presumed dead after a shipwreck at sea. He is found five years later, having survived on a desert island off his wits and by mastering the bow and arrow. When he returns to Starling City however, he discovers that it is rife with corruption and crime. Oliver decides to put his skills to use by taking on the persona of Arrow and becoming the vigilante that Starling City needs.

Arrow features:
Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/Arrow
Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak
David Ramsey as John Diggle
Willa Holland as Thea Queen
Katie Cassidy as Laurel Lance
Susana Thompson as Moira Queen
Paul Blackthorne as Detective Quentin Lance
Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
Colton Haynes as Roy Harper
Caity Lotz as Sara Lance/Canary
Arrow returns April 16.

Apparently I have not enough GL stuff in my head. How is this an easter egg?
Klone - 4/11/2014, 7:25 AM
It was a nice little easter egg. One I actually noticed the first time :P
Gusto - 4/11/2014, 7:25 AM

Starfox - 4/11/2014, 7:25 AM
So does this mean we'll see Reynolds??
JBatesyFilmreviews - 4/11/2014, 7:27 AM
@Tuuralihn Its an easter egg because 1: Hal Jordan Works for Ferris air as a test pilot and 2: his girlfriend/enemy (Star Sapphire) is Carol Ferris- the owner of the company
Doopie - 4/11/2014, 7:28 AM
and you know the whole no fear thing
JoeMomma29 - 4/11/2014, 7:29 AM
Gusto will go Ape $hit if they actually showed GL in this show.......sadly it will not happen.
Tuuralihn - 4/11/2014, 7:29 AM
@ JBatesy ah ok thanks! ALso, awesome? Though I seriously doubt we'll see GL in Arrow. Maybe Jordan or Stewart? Or just an ad on a bus for Ferris Air. Most probably the latter.
JoeMomma29 - 4/11/2014, 7:29 AM
@ Yoss

That is why you resort to Vodka.
GliderMan - 4/11/2014, 7:31 AM

Gyasiman - 4/11/2014, 7:33 AM
Ok this is awesome.
Kjo0212 - 4/11/2014, 7:34 AM
They recast lively in man of steel so my guess is they will probably recast Reynolds too. And thank god cause he has 0 luck with cbm .... Poor guy
Gyasiman - 4/11/2014, 7:34 AM
Diggle also becomes Green Lantern in the promo for next episode. If you don't believe me, pay attention to his finger. Watch the ring jump on him.
JoeMomma29 - 4/11/2014, 7:35 AM
@ BlackJack

At this point just assume option C for now.
charlie2094 - 4/11/2014, 7:40 AM
Probably doesn't mean anything, but cool none the less! Least it's a reference to Hal and not Stewart, Stewart should be kept far away...

Be cool see a version of Hal appear! Has a great friendship with Ollie and Barry...just not as a Lantern, not on a cw budget
Moohika - 4/11/2014, 7:40 AM
I nominate Jensen Ackles for GL
FantasticSpidey - 4/11/2014, 7:41 AM
I stand by my opinion that GL would make an excellent TV series. It's like Star Trek meets Police/Military documentary.
jlabatman - 4/11/2014, 7:42 AM
Yeah all I see is a Ferris reference. Until I see a power ring or hear mention of Jordan, Stewart, or Rayner, this isn't that great!
UltimateHunt - 4/11/2014, 7:43 AM
As long as its connected to the movies
GreenLantern519 - 4/11/2014, 7:43 AM
Irishyardball the budget would need to be high to portray the GL powerset. Too high for a CW show.
jero - 4/11/2014, 7:43 AM
Just give me Nightwinggggggg
SuperPickle - 4/11/2014, 7:44 AM
I think maybe deep into next season we should get another major hero cameo. Once the Flash show gets rolling and powers are established, it's practically a guarantee that they'll open the door to more large characters. Likely not any of "The Trinity" but Green Lantern, Nightwing, Cyborg, or hell even Aquaman would only be expected in coming seasons. Think of where they've gone in under two seasons and then figure where they'll go from here.
charlie2094 - 4/11/2014, 7:44 AM

The budget needed for the would be huge! The amount of cgi for the constructs alone would be huge, not to mention all the alien races, planets, flying etc...even the $200 million film looked awful
FantasticSpidey - 4/11/2014, 7:45 AM

Thats a good point, but if they limit the budget in other areas, like giving him a full CGI suit it could be done. And if they tie it in correctly, there is no reason it can't be their most expensive show.
Starfox - 4/11/2014, 7:47 AM
Reynolds or GTFO!
KarolosPrime - 4/11/2014, 7:49 AM
Reynolds in my eyes was a good Lantern!
Dmon - 4/11/2014, 7:50 AM
Since Hal is best friends with Ollie and Barry and he is the Greatest GL of all time it should be him.
KarolosPrime - 4/11/2014, 7:50 AM
Reynolds was a good Lantern in my eyes!!
ShadowOfTheWeb - 4/11/2014, 7:53 AM
agreed, Reynolds was awesome and gave it his all. The film let him down big time
ComicsBornAndBred - 4/11/2014, 7:54 AM
Wow...for doing a great Job on television and Areow, these guys really [frick]ed up doing a movie and they [frick]ED UP GL
ComicsBornAndBred - 4/11/2014, 7:55 AM
They must have a niche for tv but not film. It's a different animal
Rulk - 4/11/2014, 7:55 AM

Doopie - 4/11/2014, 7:56 AM
Diggle's real last name is Stewart
ALmazing - 4/11/2014, 7:57 AM
I guess We'll be seeing either the back of the head of Hal Jordan or just a poster like the Blue Devil movie one.
Rulk - 4/11/2014, 7:58 AM
I remember watching that 4 minute preview of The Green Lantern online with narration and really getting excited over it. But I walked out of the movie totally thinking it was horrible sadly.
cipher - 4/11/2014, 7:59 AM

My head hurts.
Highflyer - 4/11/2014, 8:00 AM
I would prefer Ryan as deadpool but i wouldn't complain if he returned as green lantern.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 4/11/2014, 8:03 AM
I know I'm in the minority here, and I'm genuinely happy that so many people are enjoying Arrow, but these Easter eggs embody one of my biggest issues with the show: they're always teasing the audience with stuff like this. "Look at all the cool DCU stuff lurking around the edges of the show! There's some really amazing shit coming up, we swear. But first, Oliver has a terse conversation with his mom!"

The action scenes are pretty sweet, I will admit. Somebody should cut them together into an exciting Green Arrow movie that leaves out all the CW soap opera garbage.
