Not a bad first episode of the season. This show is definitely better then Agents of SHIELD and The Blacklist IMO. Oliver was spot on and damn is his sister hot!

Great Episode as usual
Dinotron - 10/9/2013, 6:26 PM
I'm a Marvel fan but I do prefer Arrow over AoS
But I'll give it that AoS is only in its 1st season while Arrow is in it's 2nd
SAZMD - 10/9/2013, 6:30 PM
Is it OK to like both Arrow and AoS?
BruceWayneNewton - 10/9/2013, 6:31 PM
I do like them both but I feel a lot of this fall's new shows are lacking a bit. I guess the same could be said for the first 4 or 5 episodes of Arrow.
GeekyCheekyChic - 10/9/2013, 6:34 PM
yes its ok to like both. I like Agents and I love Arrow.
If AoS adds some legit supers like Cage,Danny Rand,Jessica Jones,Jessica Drew,Cloak and Dagger etc then it'll be a better watch. 24 episodes of Coulson will get boring quick.
Loved tonights Arrow. PLEASE call him Green Arrow and not just Arrow! Glad they are getting rid of "The Hood"
SAZMD - 10/9/2013, 6:34 PM
Maybe I'm an outlier. I liked a lot of the early episodes of Arrow, though it definitely got better as time went on (except the Huntress story arc). Episode #5 (Damaged) is one of my favorites.
EdgyOutsider - 10/9/2013, 6:36 PM
Missed tonight's episode. But, Arrow better than Agents of Shield and The Blacklist? Especially The Blacklist?!?!? Well, good thing there is such thing as opinions :)
ndwwrestler2 - 10/9/2013, 6:42 PM
I like both AOS and Arrow. Arrow is better right now...but AOS just finished it's third episode.

How many people were ready to write off Arrow after the first couple episodes, I believe even Mr. Wilding wrote off the show, and has now since changed his mind.

On the topic of Arrow, I LOVED this episode. Everything except the action (which we barely got) was better. The dialogue seemed better, the acting was better, and the cast's chemistry is better.

This is definitely a great start to the second season of Arrow.
GeekyCheekyChic - 10/9/2013, 6:45 PM
AoS needs about five episodes to finish laying the foundation but eventually Simon Williams,Luke Cage,Jessica Drew and Jessica Jones,Danny Rand need to be lower level supers that SHIELD recruits or encounters. I realize they want to save super heroes for the big screen but at least put in the heroes who aren't going to get the big screen treatment anytime soon.
I don't need Tony Stark to show up on AoS but a Luke Cage or Jessica Drew would be nice and possibly villains like Baron Strucker or Absorbing Man
GuardianAngel - 10/9/2013, 6:46 PM
Should it even be a matter of asking if you can like them both. People on this site are too focused on being biased. Personally I don't like Agents of SHIELD, but that's just my opinion.

Anyways, I kinda liked the season premiere, though I'm hoping it gets better from here. Last season set a pretty high standard toward the final episodes.
GliderMan - 10/9/2013, 6:56 PM
If Agents of SHIELD can keep the focus on minor heroes and villains, then they can reward themselves with a Stark or Loki cameo.

My idea for a Loki episode would be Loki comes to earth after he finds out Coulson didn't really die.
JoJo1982 - 10/9/2013, 6:56 PM
Arrow show was great!!!

good way to set up what Green Arrow would be in this season(no killing policy, etc..)
EdgyOutsider - 10/9/2013, 6:58 PM
I haven't watched Arrow since episode three. Just got boring to me.
JoeMomma29 - 10/9/2013, 7:01 PM
Great way to start the season!!!!
Bread - 10/9/2013, 7:02 PM
Did anyone else hear at the beginning of the episode that the anchorwoman said something like "A Central City representative of STAR Labs has announced that their Particle Accelerator will be operational by Christmas"? SO MUCH FLASH REFERENCING!!!!!!!!!! STAR LABS!!!!!!!!
GeekyCheekyChic - 10/9/2013, 7:02 PM
I was thinking the same thing- it would have been AMAZING if he had said Wayne Enterprises. I actually was prepping to hear it but alas...nope...LexCorp would have been sweet also.
KungFuGee - 10/9/2013, 7:03 PM
I just hope they let the Tiger be what he is supposed to be: One of the top 3 martial artists in DCU- way beyond GA's skill, One of the greatest assassins- at first, then a great leader for the Suicide Squad.

Excited that Arrow is starting off where it left off - good action, great story, nice pace. I am glad its a lil dark. Way to go WB.. getting it right on this show.

BTW - I like AoS but will be glad when they pick up the action a lil. This next episode looks promising
GeekyCheekyChic - 10/9/2013, 7:04 PM
why do I enjoy Arrow more than I enjoyed Dark Knight Rises ? I watch Oliver fight and feel like he would have owned Bale's Batman in a fight.
superbatspiderman - 10/9/2013, 7:05 PM
I have to say that the season premiere was pretty awesome. This is going to be a great season.
TheSisko - 10/9/2013, 7:08 PM
Okay episode but the b-plot with Thea and Roy was better then any of the a plot stuff. Laurel and Oliver's moment was way too angst-ridden. Starling City might as well be in Mexico with the lack of control by the government officials.I really wish these TV shows would give us the liberal Oliver and not carbon copy Batman.
soforizo - 10/9/2013, 7:20 PM
I usually hate new season premieres, this wasn't awesome but it certainly was effing refreshing! Welcome back! Now that intros and re-intros are out of the way, let it roll.
soforizo - 10/9/2013, 7:25 PM

I've never been a fan of Nolan's action, I often criticized him for it; it's the biggest weaknesses in his portrayal of Batman.
soforizo - 10/9/2013, 7:26 PM

No they're introducing Barry Allen first in two episodes, then have him become the Flash in episode 20 as a pilot of sorts.
GinjaNinja - 10/9/2013, 7:38 PM
I like arrow. It would do better on a less... soap opera style I guess, but still its good. BTW Agents of Shield this week was actually finally decent (just watched tonight). But still not great. It finally felt like an episode instead of awkward like the first 2. but still lots to work on. Arrow should be really good though in the next few seasons. btw is it possible to like both shows.
JoeMomma29 - 10/9/2013, 7:48 PM
@ TheSisko

LMAO you get all butt hurt when people express their opinions on AOS, but here you are trolling.

Anyways sir it is a fiction show based on a comic, of course there is a lack of government officials that is why they need a hero.

SMH! Why is their SHEILD when the Gov has the FBI, CIA, and other divisions.
JoeMomma29 - 10/9/2013, 7:56 PM
@ BatmanRobin

This show is Grade A, in fact the best show based on a comic book hands down. Yeah Yeah it will never get the ratings like AOS because it is on CW which is even funnier. Imagine that CW has a grade A show.
JoeMomma29 - 10/9/2013, 8:00 PM
Though what is funny is, in the first episode we are already introduced to a new character! And next week we get another character possibly two introduced. To me AOS should have came out with guns blazing by introducing someone, anyone. But they went the Cameo route, and finally in EP 3 we get a glimpse of a baddie and who knows when we will see that guy on the show.

Next week we get another agent gone rouge .........
TheSisko - 10/9/2013, 8:22 PM
@Joemomma can you stay on topic in any thread? I posted in this thread to have an honest discussion about Arrow. I want no part of your stupid flame wars.

Thinking about the episode some more I am confused why Felicity is in so many scenes. She certainly should not have been at the share holders meeting and Diggle could have convinced Oliver to come home without Felicity imo.
JoeMomma29 - 10/9/2013, 8:30 PM
@ Sisko

That is funny I was on topic in the AOS thread and you jumped all over me for expressing my opinions. Personally I do not care if you express your opinions in here because you have that right. Just thought I would point that out to you.
soforizo - 10/9/2013, 8:55 PM

Some characters' portrayal exist in part because it's a CW show . This show would work better on HBO or Showtime, that way we'd be rid of a lot of the negative stuff. But it is what it is.

I would however add, that Felicity is not a useless character, as she has been very useful in helping Oliver find info that it would be unrealistic for him to be able to find alone.

On your comments... Felicity is a confidant of Oliver, works at the company too -of which he now is in charge-, I see no reason why she couldn't be in there with him.

As for the island trip, yes Diggle could've gone solo, but he didn't. Based on last season, it wouldn't be out of character for her to insist on going with Diggle.

Felicity chose to put herself at risk of being kill late last season going undercover. If she was able to put her life at risk, why would it be unthinkable that she would want to go to the island?
TheSisko - 10/9/2013, 8:59 PM
@joemomma you were off topic in the SHIELD thread and you know it quit baiting. I would much rather discuss the Arrow episode or this promo.
relentless1 - 10/9/2013, 9:08 PM
@ sisko, its beacuse the chick that plays felicity is hot, check out some pice of her shes got booty id wear her like a gas mask
relentless1 - 10/9/2013, 9:09 PM
and i live in vancouver so ive got a good chance of running into her sometime :D
AztecaAguilar04 - 10/9/2013, 9:15 PM
It was a great episode to start off the 2nd season! Intense, great story and acting from the cast. Oliver's new no killing rule was a great introduction to his character's devolpment.
TheSisko - 10/9/2013, 9:20 PM

I never said Felicity was useless. I only feel that for someone who the most people is supposed to view as tech support, she gets around a lot. I do think Diggle would have gotten more to do if he had gone alone to the island to find Oliver which would have been nice.

I am not sure how the romance stuff would change if the show was at hbo or Showtime other then more sex and violence. My problem with Laurel and Oliver is it smacks of the smallville Clana 'Clark has secret which keep us apart' cliche. Which is why the Thea and Roy stuff was refreshing because Thea know what Roy is doing and it is a point of tention for there relationship. Tommy is now the meteor shower for Laurel and Oliver. Oliver blames himself for Tommy' s death like Clark blames himself for the death of Lana' s parents.
AztecaAguilar04 - 10/9/2013, 9:30 PM
Oh and how can i forget about Felicity!
soforizo - 10/9/2013, 9:45 PM

Being on a premium channel would translate into bigger budget, better effects, better portrayal of super powers.

I agree that Laurel-Oliver smacks of Clana, but that's the CW stuff that I was referring to, that comes with doing the shows on the CW versus doing it in a more adult network.

On the romance... I don't mean to be a perv, but I'm going to sound like a perv: I can tell you that even without changing her lines, Laurel would be FAR more tolerable, if we could see her and some of the girls Oliver has dated, having some wild sex scenes on the show. It would certainly change my stance about her.

...About violence on a premium channel, admittedly the show did surprisingly good job last season on that department, I'm not sure I'd change too much except some blood here and there.
