ARROW: Speculation On Season 2 Finale

ARROW: Speculation On Season 2 Finale

Here are some theories I have for the ending of the second season of the CW's Arrow, and the long-term ramifications for the show heading intro season 3. See what you think and be sure to leave your thoughts in the usual place.

After reading numerous comments on Stephen Amell s facebook I have some answers/clarifiers for many people (and some theory)....

1) Yes there will be a season 3 of arrow it has already been renewed.

2) Deathstroke will have an army...much like in the comics (at some point) but this army (in the comics) was created by Isabel Roshev...(hows that for a connection!) Are they working together? Defiantley a maybe

3) There is a scene in season 1 where you can see Isabel Roshevs name on "the list"

4) Thea will not be the one dying...roy would have gladly taken the codename speedy to, as we have head quite a bit on Arrow, honor his ex girlfriends memory rather than the already confirmed codename of unless they go Lazarus Pit style they are setting Thea up to be Mia Dearden the 2nd Speedy

5) We will learn in coming episodes if Detective Lance thinks that Ollie is the Arrow

6) Slade will NOT be killed, hes way to large of a character...i think he will kill someone close to Oliver(who ill mention next) and destroy everyone oliver cares for (but not kill) and, because we know Slade has been shown as an "honorable man" I think he may simply call Oliver and himself "even"

7) There is a chance we will see The Dark Archer return to save his daughter

8) Sarah may numerous behind the scene clips and promos we see that something will change both the Queen and Lance family...what better than to kill Sarah? Everyone is finally happy and contempt with her being back and alive...what if she is pulled right back out of there grasp. Also what better way to give us the true black canary...laurel!

9) Will Roy lose his arm to Slade? I have read this a few times and although my answer is no...i feel its a) to soon and b) pointless because of the mirakuru ... We DO have 2 Star Labs employees making an appearance (cameo for the flash pilot) and Star Labs employees would be the only people on the show capable of replacing an arm with a fully functional cybernetic model

10) Moria may not die simply because i don't think they would have begun her whole "mayoral campaign" storyline just to kill her off

11) Roy will eventually lose the mirakuru (somehow) or Ollie will gain it...they need to be on more even footing in the future

Here are some images of the Deathstroke army...both comic and arrow style

And for those who dont know the woman in the red coat (below) is Isabel Roshev

Excellent point about Isabel and even better evidence to back your theory up. After reading this article I would be shocked if you are incorrect. You did some great research.

Also an appearance from Merlyn would be awesome but I feel that would have been teased in the promos if this were to happen.

Lastly I feel that Oliver will definitely NOT receive the mirakuru. Roy's condition being cured is a possibility, but I feel that the drug was used to supplement his rage on the show as well as integrate him into the show without a full season or two of training. Most likely, I feel that he will remain with the mirakuru in tact and soon be Arsenal, probably towards the end of next season.
Mazoku - 4/2/2014, 7:16 AM
Oh and Sara or Laurel with definitely die, most likely Sara so that Oliver and Slade are even. Perhaps its Quentin Lance, but theres no need for two Canaries on the show most likely it will be Sara that passes. Which is a disappointment honestly because I enjoy her character. Canary being trained by the League of Assassins is an excellent backstory and could be an integral part of next season if they choose to bring in Ra's Al Ghul and Merlyn again.
Mazoku - 4/2/2014, 7:21 AM
Does anyone else think that Slade or someone else will reveal to Thea that Merlyn is her real father tonight? Seems to be trending that way.
sro5220 - 4/2/2014, 7:22 AM
Great job.

Saw this quote: "Oliver thought he was facing one kind of enemy," Guggenheim teases, "but the truth is he's facing a very different kind, and that enemy will really surprise him." Could that reference Isabel Roshev as the enemy he does not expect?

How about the mirakuru derived from Slade's blood only having a limited effectiveness? Roy feeling invincible because of it battles Slade & loses an arm as a result of it wearing off.
Moohika - 4/2/2014, 7:30 AM
I'm pretty sure Sara will kick the bucket.
Moohika - 4/2/2014, 7:32 AM
Was it confirmed that Roy will be become Arsenal and not Red Arrow?
IronConstantine68 - 4/2/2014, 7:38 AM
Wait, when's the season finale? I think it was "Streets of Fire" or something like that. Not sure.
ComicBookConnections - 4/2/2014, 7:42 AM
Thanks for the support everyone!!!!!! Im going to add what you think to the article!!

@Moohika Arsenal first for sure, no word on his development
ComicBookConnections - 4/2/2014, 7:43 AM
wait once an article is on the home page can you not edit it?...
SecretWarrior - 4/2/2014, 7:44 AM
Im thinking Sara will die as well. It's a shame because I like her as Canary. But these types of shows they always get u to like someone right before they kill them.

Also, Sara dying balances out Shadows death. I mean, in Slade's view. It seems pretty obvious he will be after Sara because Ollie saved her instead of Shadow.
ComicBookConnections - 4/2/2014, 7:48 AM
@SecretWarrior thats what Im saying about Slade calling it "even"
ComicBookConnections - 4/2/2014, 7:49 AM
@Mazoku the not so lasting effects of the SYNTHESIZED mirakuru theory you commented is BRILLIANT although i think it is to early for him to lose an arm....I do think maybe it will wear off eventually
Gusto - 4/2/2014, 7:50 AM
When is the finale?
ForeverPowerful - 4/2/2014, 7:50 AM
Slade kills Sarah for revenge against the death of Shado. Laurel will find out about Sarah being Canary and take the mantle to get out of her bad habits and addictions.

They will not kill of Slade, Oliver will hold strong by his word of not killing to remember Tommy. He'll be recruited by Waller.

LeeroyJenkins - 4/2/2014, 8:10 AM
how the hell is he gonna take on an army..... i wish flash would show up or GL or ANYBODY!!!
ManDeth - 4/2/2014, 8:21 AM
Arrow was renewed but it's ratings are falling to new lows. The show needs some major changes to increase rating or season 3 could and likely will be it's last.

Season 1 of Arrow had an average of 3.68 million viewers. Season 2 has an average of 2.72 million. The show had a series low of 2.21 just 2 weeks ago. And season lows are often revisited the following year. Next year the show will likely hit 2.20 and even under 2.00.
thewonderer - 4/2/2014, 8:22 AM
Personally, I don't think they'll kill off Sara just yet.

People assumed Tommy would follow in his fathers footsteps ala Spider-Man 2 and we were proven wrong.

It's not like the Arrow writers to go the obvious route.
thewonderer - 4/2/2014, 8:23 AM
ManDeth, isn't Arrow still the best rated show next to Supernatural and Vampire Diaries?
CommanderShepard - 4/2/2014, 8:39 AM
Hmm, I think Sara is a dead woman!

the show was up pretty big in numbers last week.

@Thewonderer, Yes, it has more overall viewers than those shows, but the 18-49 numbers are less.
LordNilraps3 - 4/2/2014, 8:45 AM
Well one of the producers said they use The Dark Knight Trilogy as a guideline to help them, so maybe Isabel Roshev plays the role Talia played in The Dark Knight Rises. Ollie loses all of his money and then becomes Green Arrow, it's perfect! Because isn't he supposed to eventually go "on the run" and "survive" the real world without his fortune? Idk, I wasn't really a big Green Arrow fan until this show, and I know this isn't the true Green Arrow, but its still good. This show has opened my eyes to more than just Batman and Superman though, haha.
CommanderShepard - 4/2/2014, 8:45 AM
@TheWonderer, that means that more of a general audience enjoys Arrow, where Vampire diaries audience is the young teenage girl crowd.

CommanderShepard - 4/2/2014, 8:46 AM
@Nukem, that would be badass!
Guido - 4/2/2014, 8:50 AM
I reckon that Slade will mimic Ivo for revenge, making Oliver choose between Sara and Laurel
CommanderShepard - 4/2/2014, 8:56 AM
@Mandeth, ALL television shows were down pretty big 2 weeks ago. Including Agents of Shield. I dont think the CW is worried, as Arrow was one of the first shows they renewed. It wasnt even a question that there will be a season 3.
James99201 - 4/2/2014, 9:02 AM
I really hope its not Sarah and its Laurel who dies. Because wouldn't Sarah dying bring the League of assassins after Slade. And killing Laurel would hurt Sarah and Ollie and I'm sure Slade wants to make Sarah suffer too. And I'm pretty sure by the end of the season Ollie is left on the island again
ComicsBornAndBred - 4/2/2014, 9:26 AM
I agree with everything said. Hate to see Sarah go he's a badass and sexy as hell. Dark Arher will def save Thea. an blame Ollie for endangering his daughter this making him tw villian of Season 3. And he'll blame him for Tommy's death. League of Assasins will follow Merlyn as he returns to Starling and Nyssa will hunt Oliver down for allowing Sarah to die.
ComicBookConnections - 4/2/2014, 9:30 AM
James99201 your saying killing Sarah wouldnt hurt sarah?
BlackIceJoe - 4/2/2014, 10:03 AM
Great theory bro. I personally hope they don't kill off Sara. I know in the comics Dinah is Black Canary. But I think it would take way to long to teach Laurel how to fight. Yeah this would open up a way to bring in Wildcat to teach her. But I still think it would take a few seasons for her to become a beast. The reason I think Sara's better is because she already has the skills she learned over the six years being away on the island and with the League of Assasins.

I do agree with Thea being Speedy. Oliver has had lots of sidekicks. The only problem is with her is the same with Laurel. It's going to take years to train her. I guess you could jump a few years into the future. So this way you can skip all of the training and they would be great at fighting.

I do think it would be cool to see Roy loose his arm. But Arrow's on basic tv. So I'm not sure if the FCC would allow that or not. If he did it would be cool to see him get a robotic arm. Maybe even throw out an Easter egg that says it came from LexCorp.
CommanderShepard - 4/2/2014, 10:18 AM

Sure, Roy could lose his arm on basic TV. It wouldnt have to be graphic.
jlabatman - 4/2/2014, 10:34 AM
Nice article, some of your theories seem very plausible! I would love to see Thea and Moira die though!
DEFA - 4/2/2014, 10:44 AM
wooow... I love this show...!!!
soforizo - 4/2/2014, 10:50 AM
soforizo - 4/2/2014, 10:51 AM
Very well done CBC! Loved the Deathstroke army set pic in the end. First time seeing it.
ComicBookConnections - 4/2/2014, 11:19 AM
Thanks again guys!...As for everyone assuming Sarah would die and Laurel would immediatley come Black Canary...I know thats not plausible!

Also I think IF thea DOES NOT find out olivers secret this season, then this episode will cause her to begin basic defensive training
ratticus58 - 4/2/2014, 12:34 PM
Arsenal has always been a terrible super-hero name, worse than Speedy. Red Arrow is the what he should be called. The name conjurs up a visual of a guy weighted down with weapons. Well, I guess Oliver can always call Roy Arse for short.
