Deadpool Creator Rob Liefeld Lets Rip At 20th Century Fox!

Deadpool Creator Rob Liefeld Lets Rip At 20th Century Fox!

The comic book writer and artist has revealed that he dislikes Fox just as much as the rest of us and attacks not only their poor CBM track record but also vents his feelings about the Deadpool adaptaion...

Fox is far from a popular studio with fans of comic books. Whether it's making generally awful adaptations or idiotic changes to the source material, it's hard not to feel worried every time they announce a new superhero adaptation. Despite that, Deadpool has been anticipated for many years now and despite his poor treatment in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the recently leaked script has been more than enough to keep fans excited. It now seems that the creator of the character is just as frustrated with Fox though. Here's what the Liefeld had to say in a series of "Tweets" yesterday:

"Dear FOX studios, get your act together. Deadpool is not Green Lantern, not a family film. DP is "filthy" think Expendables $$ w/ RR"

"Also FOX, find your balls and film the script from Rheese[sic] and Wernick. You will make loads of money and thank yourself later."

"Dear FOX, these five will show up and slice your nutz if you screw DP up! http://twitpic.com/3c8ym2"

"FOX is always worrisome to me @JStud_ Not exactly the greatest track record. DP is in their hands."

"It boils down to this, Ryan Reynolds, Mr. Sexiest Man alive paired with best comic script ever written, no-brainer....make Deadpool happen!"

"43 is the new 72 for me....i just speak my mind and don't give a crap....grumpy old Liefeld."

I wonder what could have caused this? While the reasons for this attack aren't immediately apparent, obviously Fox did something to piss him off! Perhaps he just realised that the studio will probably screw up the character just as badly as the rest of the Marvel bunch they've got their hands on! Clearly though, like the majority of fans, he's hoping that they back off and go for the Zombieland duo's script which manages to stay faithful to the comic book character rather than introduce their own ridiculous ideas like a cloud Galactus...
