DOCTOR STRANGE Rumor: Working Title Revealed With 3 Script Pages Reviewed

CBM has received several pages of a Doctor Strange script that is currently being developed by Marvel Studios, along with the working title of the possible Phase 3 movie. Details after the jump...

With all the Doctor Strange rumors and potential scoops hitting the Internet the past few weeks, every fan is entitled to believe what he or she wants. At least until Marvel Studios makes an official announcement about anything Doctor Strange movie-related. It's all very subjective to each individual's own perception right now.

That's fine. There's no need to pressure anyone into believing something is 100 percent truth just because it has been published online. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.

Getting to the dirt of this post,'s The Daily SuperHero has received not one, not two but three actual pages of the Doctor Strange script. These pages have been provided by a Marvel source who is close to the development of the film and this is being done to help give clarity to some of the reports on various websites. Now there's no reason to start naming any names but it sounds like false information has been reported online so far.

Right away the working title of Doctor Strange, either currently or at some point of it's development is "Eye See You." Of course fans know what this implies but for those who don't know it is a play off of the Doctor's Eye of Agamotto amulet.

The Marvel source says the pages were made available to "give an idea of how Strange is placed within the MCU/chronological timeline." The following text is paraphrased from the original script pages:

"Nick Fury and SHIELD locate a strong power reading from a mountain in Tibet. Another person is in the same room with Fury and also sees a green-like radiation pulsing from the mountain and asks Fury is it's terrestrial. Fury says it is being analyzed but he hasn't seen such a power surge since Bruce Banner had an accident with Gamma Rays. Fury concludes by saying the Black Widow is in the vicinity and will investigate but until she sends a report, SHIELD is not sure what the proper response is at the moment.

"Then, the third page starts with Doctor Strange begin tired and goes to lay down for the night and in the morning is awakened by his trusted partner Wong. Strange is brought some coffee. Strange sits up and has some menial banter with Wong and grabs a newspaper. The first headline on the paper talks about a giant earthquake in New York, while the second headline says that Tony Stark is officially Iron Man. His response to the Stark headline is, 'Lucky bastard.'"

What is interesting is how the earthquake in New York headline seems to refer to The Incredible Hulk movie and the battle in Harlem. That page also seems to be near the beginning of the Doctor Strange movie but no clarification on where in the movie these pages take place were given.

And there you have it. Take it with a grain of salt or believe all of it as long as you remember scripts go through so many draft revisions before production begins that what is being reported now can, and probably will, change by the time the cameras start rolling.

Interesting... The only problem I have with putting a movie that far back would be where was he during Avengers... Another hill you have to battle. Sounds cool though.
Hellsboy - 7/11/2013, 12:20 PM
I swear if they make him a jokester In the movie I'm burning anything marvel related in my front yard
caroldanvers - 7/11/2013, 12:20 PM
ok but can we get to the carol danvers movie already
xeno - 7/11/2013, 12:21 PM
Is this "scoop" from the same source that gave you the phony "Stark Tower in ASM2" photo?

MrCBM56 - 7/11/2013, 12:22 PM
I doubt this is real, but if it is sounds pretty good. I just don't like that it takes place after Iron Man. Marvel needs to release movies in chronological order.
SpideyQuad - 7/11/2013, 12:22 PM
k, what's so hard to understand? Just like in the comics he was probably fighting his own battles :-)
Abary - 7/11/2013, 12:22 PM
I would prefer it if the movie takes place after The Avengers 2, or at least after The Avengers. Sounds cool though.
Abary - 7/11/2013, 12:24 PM
Different user, man.
charlie2094 - 7/11/2013, 12:24 PM
This just creates the problem with where he was during the Avengers :/ Could have been in another dimension or what not, but seems easier to set it after. So has he already fully become Dr Strange at the start? Doesn't meet Wong until after his training I believe, so will the origin be done like Man of Steel, told in a non-linear way?

Can see the SHIELD aspect being true. Ties it in nicely, but kind of suggests Black Widow may play a part in it.
SnapperCarr - 7/11/2013, 12:25 PM
has potential, but looks fake
LucasMend - 7/11/2013, 12:26 PM
C'mon SHIELD on this too? I would love dr strange to only have some minor references, no need to shield to get involved.
MercSoul - 7/11/2013, 12:27 PM

IF its happend when iron man 1 end...

so he can return to the city after avengers and everything will be good
DioFoRio - 7/11/2013, 12:27 PM
I like the fact that he's an older character...almost as if the dark arts were around and in the shadows for longer than supers were around. This is awesome news!
teinen - 7/11/2013, 12:29 PM
I hope they start getting more creative than the usual origin story/struggles with powers/half ass love story/ldefeats bad guy at the end, formula. Can't we take these movies in different directions? Like sure, lets say these events happen during Iron Man 1, so how about avoiding the happy ending and having him trapped in another dimension or something, explaining his absence during phase 2? I think they could get much more creative going forward... Oh and stop destroying cities in every movie.
DioFoRio - 7/11/2013, 12:29 PM
not every new character has to have his or her genesis happen post Avengers...glad some ,and I say some, of you don't oversee these films. No foresight.

DioFoRio - 7/11/2013, 12:29 PM
I said foresight Gusto....
Lockjaw - 7/11/2013, 12:30 PM
If he has a years of training stage in the movie it makes sense to acknowledge what's going on back home ie Avengers.
JoeMomma29 - 7/11/2013, 12:30 PM
@ Gusto

I found your new summer jam!!!!

NorseGod - 7/11/2013, 12:30 PM
It really doesn't matter if it is real, it will most likely be rewritten, shot differently, and edited before it hits theaters.
LucasMend - 7/11/2013, 12:34 PM
Well, in IM2, during that last scene with Tony and Nick, we can see in tv screens that the university fight in TIH has just happened. So while Stark Expo fight in IM2 is happening, hulk and betty are in that cave when it's raining. I'd say TIH ends a bit after that. Bit confused I know.
LEVITIKUZ - 7/11/2013, 12:36 PM
Wait I thought IM2 took place after TIH.

Now I'm confused.
2gold - 7/11/2013, 12:37 PM
It sounds like the one from back when development first started, which was around the time of Iron Man if I remember right.
LucasMend - 7/11/2013, 12:37 PM
TIH storyline probably starts during the middle of IM2
McD1000 - 7/11/2013, 12:38 PM
You're right. Incredible Hulk does take place after Iron Man 2. The general audience does not take the time to sit down and think about the continuity, placing each movie in it's chronological order. Feige and everyone else at Marvel Studios knows this.
However this may be b.s. or it could change.
Ocelot - 7/11/2013, 12:38 PM
Well from the sound of it, the events of Ant-Man will probably take place before the events of Iron Man, so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens in this film.

Yeah it does, most of the events in the Incredible Hulk take place after the first two Iron Man films and for a brief time runs concurrent with the events that take place in Thor.
BuzzKiller - 7/11/2013, 12:41 PM
Very possible, much more believable than "El Maybe I'll throw so much B.S. plot points out there, that a couple have to be true and I can take credit for those and say Fiege edited the script cause I was on to kids". This site needs to stop passing along that dopes "scoops".
JoeMomma29 - 7/11/2013, 12:42 PM
@ Gusto

That chick cannot be for real!!!!
DioFoRio - 7/11/2013, 12:43 PM
Joe...holy shit I hope she gets the joke..Yowzas!
SpoonWielder - 7/11/2013, 12:43 PM
But, but, but the Hulk has his fight in Harlem with the Abomination at least 6 months after Stark says he's Iron Man. It's in Marvel's official timeline!
DioFoRio - 7/11/2013, 12:44 PM
@Joe....she's Russian..they're always serious.

LEVITIKUZ - 7/11/2013, 12:45 PM
Does Avengers take place before Iron Man 2 or Thor?

I'm so confused.
TelaVizion - 7/11/2013, 12:45 PM
Doesn't hulk come in b4 or same time as IM2?!... whish is why we were seeing Hulk footage in IM2 when Tony was with Fury
JoeMomma29 - 7/11/2013, 12:47 PM
@ DioFoRio

Her website is full of Delusions of Grandeur!
LucasMend - 7/11/2013, 12:48 PM
Avengers takes place during Blade 1 and before Iron Man 1
fettastic - 7/11/2013, 12:48 PM
teinen - 7/11/2013, 12:49 PM
@marvelpsych79, of course it's a given that destruction is inevitable, just between Avengers, MOS, TDKR, and ever single non-superhero big budget disaster film, it's getting pretty boring. Especially when it's treated in a pg-13 manner every time, as in there are no pools of blood and ripped in half corpses everywhere. It's basically "how much stuff can we break to impress the audience". I'd like to see more personal struggles, or character interaction.
