Is a DBE Sequel REALLY Gonna Happen?

There's a lot of "info" about a DBE sequel scripted. The way the cast responded during this interview, it doesn't seem like it is. James Marsters gives us a little bit of hope for a DBZ movie done right.

	Here's how the real DBZ movie should go. 1)Call the film "Dragonball Z". No subtitles! 2)Get someone better for the role of Goku (Donnie Yen for example) 3)Michael Jai White should play Piccolo 4) Vegeta is the main villian. I prefer Russell Wong for the part.(You know, the guy who played the villain in "Romeo must Die") 5) DON'T WATER IT DOWN TO A FREAKING PG RATED FAMILY MOVIE! Make it a dark, edgy, violent PG-13 epic! 	i liked it too. i think you guys are too ''orthodox'' with what happens with the product and source material. then perhaps we should hate also on heath ledger's joker, doc ock dying at the end of spiderman 2, wolverine's background being revealed just like that and there's a buttload more. i liked the way they changed things. i mean, i've seen every episode of db, dbz and dbgt many times and actually grew bored of it. i'm happy about it because it keeps it fresh, dare i say, and even if it has different elements it's the same story. that is what we want, isn't it? johndalb - 4/13/2009, 12:43 PM
	yeah it kinda had a really shitty box office take off. BUT i did see it friday night, and i couldnt say i was crying over how BAD it was but i also cant say i was crying about how GOOD it was either. 	@SoulAllFish The movie was not terrible the people who even say it is bad probably didn't take the time to watch it. Yes it is childish. But it is very much dragonball. So those who say this movie is bad probably didn't actually watch dragonball or this movie at all. @Marvel Rules: If you don't take time to watch a movie you have no say in what it was like. 	I gotta put in my 2 cents on this guys im a big fan of the show and this movie basically took it bent it over and raped it hard. Its not that the acting was bad or anything like that but if you are going to make a movie based on a show FFS at least stick to the story. At the time piccolo was reining havok on the world goku was only like 7 years old not in high school(its also the same time he met chichi and roshi, and a million other charscters that were out of timeline)and IMO it should have been vegeta/nappa as the main villains and have goku and him duke it out epically instead of goku and piccolo shooting different colored fire at eachother. all in all really dissapointed with this flick solskrat - 4/13/2009, 4:34 PM

	DBE made under 5 million dollars over the weekend, it finish in 9th place. No way in hell this well get a sequal, I believed Fox realize they realy screw up big time. their hasn't been a bad movie since Batman and Robin, and right now thats were this movie is place at. 	I hope sequels does happen. You fans are very heartless and thoughtless. Just because a live action film is not like the cartoon, that doesn't mean we have the right to say it's stupid or a failure. When I saw the film, it was entertaining. You have to give them a chance. I'm sure the sequel will change and the characters as well. But I hope they paint Bulma's hair full blue. 	People have the right to say that it sucks or not... It is obvious the movie won't be exact. But even you Torian want something exact like the hair. Don't get me wrong, I would like to see somethings closer to the anime myself. I said the movie was okay if you didn't watch the series... but that doesn't make sense. This probably didn't interest most. The fans though who will pay, and maybe more than once, should have been targeted. Then when they rave about it, you may get others to gain interest. I just don't get why alot of the movie seemed almost deliberately opposite. 1. Goku wasn't in school... The movie he was 2. Nameks make Dragonballs... The movie they didn't 3. Piccolo didn't know Goku... The movie he did 4. The Oozaru was giant... The movie he wasn't 5. The Oozaru couldn't be controlled... The movie he could 6. Goku learned Ki from roshi... The movie Chi Chi taught him 7. Chi Chi chased Goku... The movie, he chased her 8. Goku didn't back down from fights... The movie he had to hold back 9. Bulma has blue hair... The movie she didn't 10. Epic battles with people getting thrown through building, ground and rocks ... The movie didn't have them 11. Goku trained for awhile with Roshi... The movie wasn't much time at all. 12. Roshi was old and bald... The movie he was chunky and had a head of hair. I think you get the picture. It is a slap in the face to true fans who expect better. These people are their guaranteed base and money. How many years do you see the movie do bad or hear fans screaming for better before you actually do them closer to home. 	I was serious about my 5 year old nephew saying it was dumb . Also throughout the first 15 minutes of the movie he said "I not gonna watch this" he loves dragons and got up and walked off before shenron made its appearance. 	It's not just that the movie didn't follow the anime/manga. It's that the movie's story and script is really cliche. Acting, cast and director didn't help either. Just look at Transformers, Spiderman 1, Iron Man. Those movies didn't really follow the comics yet they were good and did good, because they didn't follow your typical cliche story.
