FAN ART: Portfolio Art by Dionysios

FAN ART: Portfolio Art by Dionysios

CBM User Dionysios shares some pencils from his art portfolio. What do you think, should Marvel or DC give him a call? Continue on to check out the impressive art work.

These are some pages I was doing to try and submit to Aspen comics for work.

These were some Avengers pages that I had put together with the tidbits of news we were receiving on CBM before anything was concrete.

These are pages 2 - 5 of a story that I want to publish sometime.

Old Star Wars Pinup Before Episode 3. I had a feeling that more time would have passed since the one before...Hence, Boba Fett taking out Mace Windu.

Do you do storyboard freelance work?
MrYurMomm - 5/3/2013, 12:26 PM
I do the same but I can never get my proportions correct on the figures. Faces, eyes, expressions I can do, but my stuff is always disproportionate. I hate it. Any pointers you give out?
LP4 - 5/3/2013, 12:27 PM
Holy shit those are awesome! You should get a job with dc or marvel
TheDpool - 5/3/2013, 12:28 PM

TheOneAboveAll - 5/3/2013, 12:35 PM
The best I can do are portraits fashion design and given enough time maybe a full body, Maybe we should team up?
I can do pointillism too but I am barely starting to get the hang of using a tablet to draw on photoshop so we would have to add another to color the artworks.

Also as a writer we could create an amazing comic together.
CharacterAssassin - 5/3/2013, 12:36 PM
Out of all the drawings in that article you took some time drawing that Saleen.

TerminalVoyd - 5/3/2013, 2:52 PM
You know what? It needs a bit of work here and there (mostly polish and finesse on the faces specifically and a bit of anatomy)but you're pretty much there. Your lines are tight and clean, your composition is fantastic, the sequential storytelling form panel to panel isn't hard to follow and overall it's really strong and dynamic stuff.

You really should throw out some submissions to smaller publishers if you haven't already and start building an indie resume. You're pretty much ready to be published and work your way up to drawing for the majors.
DioFoRio - 5/3/2013, 2:59 PM
thanks for the critique @Voyd! Yeah man trying to get that extra polish on the faces and whatnot. I feel like it's ALMOST there lol. Just gotta find that thing to start clicking in my head! Thanks again bro!
JohnnyKrypton - 5/3/2013, 3:42 PM

Track down a copy of the original "How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way" by John Buscema and Stan Lee. Seriously. They cover proportion, perspective, forced perspective, layout, etc. It gives you a really solid foundation for figure work with plenty of room for individual style.
