My DCCU: Rise of the Bat
Batman is a fictional character, a comic book superhero created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger. The character first appeared inDetective Comics #27 (May 1939), and since then has appeared primarily in publications by DC Comics. Originally referred to as "The Bat-Man" and still referred to at times as "The Batman", he is additionally known as "The Caped Crusader", "The Dark Knight", and "The World's Greatest Detective," among other titles.
The second film in my DC Cinematic Universe. Featuring a fan cast, ideas and fan art.
In the original version of the story and the vast majority of retellings, Batman's secret identity is Bruce Wayne, an American millionaire (later billionaire) playboy, industrialist, and philanthropist. Having witnessed the murder of his parents as a child, he swore revenge on criminals, an oath tempered with the greater ideal of justice. Wayne trains himself both physically and intellectually and dons a bat-themed costume in order to fight crime. Batman operates in the fictional American Gotham City, assisted by various supporting characters including his crime-fighting partner,Robin, his butler Alfred Pennyworth, the police commissioner Jim Gordon, and occasionally the heroine Batgirl. He fights an assortment of villains such as the Joker, the Penguin, the Riddler, Two-Face, Ra's al Ghul, Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman, among others. Unlike most superheroes, he does not possess any superpowers; he makes use of intellect, detective skills, science and technology, wealth, physical prowess, martial arts skills, an indomitable will, fear, and intimidation in his continuous war on crime.
Batman became a very popular character soon after his introduction and gained his own comic book title, Batman, in 1940. As the decades wore on, differing interpretations of the character emerged. The late 1960s Batman television series used a camp aesthetic which continued to be associated with the character for years after the show ended. Various creators worked to return the character to his dark roots, with varying results. The comic books of this dark stage culminated in the acclaimed 1986 miniseries The Dark Knight Returns, by Frank Miller, as well asBatman: The Killing Joke by Alan Moore and Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, among others. The overall success of Warner Bros.' live-action Batman feature films have also helped maintain public interest in the character.
A cultural icon, Batman has been licensed and adapted into a variety of media, from radio to television and film, and appears on a variety of merchandise sold all over the world such as toys and video games. The character has also intrigued psychiatrists with many trying to understand the character's psyche and his true ego in society. In May 2011, Batman placed second on IGN's Top 100 Comic Book Heroes of All Time, after Superman. Empire magazine also listed him second in their 50 Greatest Comic Book Characters of All Time.
Note: This DC Comics Cinematic Universe is completely fictional and it acts like a comic book movie has never been made before. If I cast someone that is already playing a CBM character in real life please ignore. Thank you
Plot/Summary: Bruce Wayne’s parents were killed when Bruce was 10. Bruce set off at 16 to train across the world to train for his return to Gotham. He trains with many people, but his greatest master was Ra’s al Ghul. Bruce starts to become better then Ra’s al Ghul. Ra’s al Ghul holds a fake initiation battle for Bruce to finish training. Ra’s Al Ghul battles Bruce. Talia (Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter) tells Bruce that Ra’s al Ghul is trying to kill Bruce so that he won’t become better than R’as. Bruce accidentally “kills” Ra’s Al Ghul with a secret movie he learned from David Cain in his past training. Bruce feels horrible for doing what he did. Bruce decides to never kill ANYONE at all, not even someone who deserves it. Bruce returns to Gotham and becomes Batman.-Fast forward to- After 6 months of being the Bat more villains start popping up. A man in a high tech sit committing arsons, a literal cat burglar that Batman always seems to let go and a new man in Gotham that calls himself Red Hood. Red Hood takes out gang activity, by killing the gangsters, and anyone else who happens to get in his way. Batman doesn’t know if he should take out the Red Hood, if he should let Red Hood continue his job, or should he join Red Hood. It’s already moving fast, with Batman it’ll go faster.
About the movie:
The suit would be based off of the one featured in the new 52 comics. I like that one better than any other previous ones, even though it isn’t that different from some. Batman will also use a lot more gadgets in this DCCU.
I wanted the vehicles to be futuristic yet still grounded to a certain point. Top left corner is the bat mobile. Top Right corner is the bat cycle. Bottom left is the bat boat and bottom right is the bat plane.
The tone is about the same amount of darkness and grittiness as the Arkham asylum games. I feel like it’s a balance between Nolan more realistic world and the comics fantasy world.
I think that Sam mends would be perfect for this job. Skyfall was an amazing movie and I think that Chris Nolan and Sam Mendes could trade franchises.
Hans Zimmer does some of the best scores I’ve ever heard. He is number two on my top movie scorers list (number one being John Williams). I think that Blake Neely should do he score. You might recognize his music from the CW series Arrow. The score is great and dark and I think it could fit this movie well.
On to the Fancast
Batman:Bruce Wayne witnessed the murder of his philanthropist parents as a child, swearing to avenge them. He trained extensively to achieve mental and physical perfection, mastering martial arts and detective skills. Utilizing a high-tech arsenal in his crusade to rid Gotham City of crime, he became Batman: The Dark Knight.
Sam Witwer: Sam Witwer is a great actor and I think that he has the perfect look and voice for Bruce Wayne and Batman.
Alfred Pennyworth-Sean Connery
Alfred: Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce Wayne's loyal father figure and butler. Alfred raised Bruce (and later Dick Grayson) after the death of the Wayne's. A former British secret agent, Alfred is a skilled surgeon who often fixes members of the Bat-Family.
Sean Connery: Sean Connery is a very gifted actor and I think that he would make an excellent and wise Alfred. Coincidentally both have had espionage past.
Red Hood/Jack Napier-Michael Sheen
Red Hood: A criminal that is taking out the underworld of Gotham with criminal tactics. He falls into a vat of chemicals trying to dodge a batrang. He comes out a whole new…monster…
Michael Sheen: Michael Sheen is a phenomenal actor and I think that he would be great as the Joker. Since this character is a pre-insane Joker I’ll keep Sheen. After seeing him in Tron Legacy I knew who was perfect for the Joker.
Commissioner Gordon-Bruce Boxleitner
Commissioner Gordon: James Gordon was one of Batman's first supporters, helping him fight against crime and corruption. Rising to the rank of Commissioner in the Gotham City Police Department, he remains one of Batman's greatest allies.
Bruce Boxleitner: Bruce Boxleitner is an experienced and talented actor. Yes another influence from Tron Legacy, but hey it was a good movie.
Lucius Fox-Danny Glover
Lucius Fox: Lucius Fox is the current CEO and President of Wayne Enterprises and a sought after businessman all over the corporate world. He is a great financial officer and a good friend/ally to Bruce Wayne.
Danny Glover: A great and experienced actor who could take on this role.
Catwoman/Selina Kyle-Emily Blunt
Catwoman: Catwoman, the costumed alias persona of Selina Kyle, is a mostly reformed cat burglar with an on-again, off-again, romantic relationship with Batman. She is shown as a woman who is very strong-willed, independent and morally conflicted with her past.
Emily Blunt: Emily Blunt is a beautiful and equally talented actress who I think is perfect for this role.
Ra’s al Ghul-Jason Isaacs
Ra’s al Ghul: Ra's believes humanity is lost to corruption and dreams of purging it of its sins. He has used several kinds of violence in his pursuit of "justice" including vigilantism, terrorism, and assassination.
Jason Isaacs: Jason Isaacs is a great actor. He did a great job as Ra’s al Ghul in Batman: Under the Hood the animated film and I think he could do a great job now.
Firefly: Firefly is a former rich gambler who loses his family's entire fortune and turns to crime, becoming a pyromaniac and arsonist.
Jeremy Renner: Jeremy Renner is a great actor and I think he can bring the intensity to the role that is needed.
Zsasz: Mr. Zsasz is a serial killer with no regard for human life. He carves a mark into his skin for every life he takes, slowly covering his entire body in scars.
Harvey Bullock-Michael Chiklis
Harvey Bullock: Harvey Bullock was a well-known corrupt cop that took bribes and used police brutality. Bullock later turned a new leaf and formed a close partnership with Renee Montoya and Commissioner Gordon.
Michael Chiklis: Michael Chiklis is a great actor. After seeing him in No Ordinary Family I think he’d be perfect for the role.
Renee Montoya-Michelle Rodriguez
Renee Montoya: Renee Montoya is a Gotham City native who joined Gotham City Police Department. She was promoted to detective by Commissioner Gordon and partnered with Harvey Bullock.
Talia al Ghul-Lynn Collins
Talia: The daughter and heir to Ra's al Ghul's criminal empire.
Lynn Collins: She is a great actress. I enjoyed her in John Carterand in X-Men Origins Wolverine.
AFTER CREDITS SCENE
A man is seen slowly rising out of a pool of waste dump from a chemical factory. As he rises a limousine pulls up. The chauffeur walks around to the back and opens the door. Out steps a bald man in a pinstripe suit. The bald man says
“I’m forming a special team…I’d like you to be a part of it.”
The man rising from the waste smiles with red lips and scars a long both sides of his lips.
