Zac Efron for Captain America?

As long as he doesn't sing and dance!

I watched 17 Again last night and really enjoyed it. I have never seen the HSM movies and had a bias against Zac but he really impressed me as an actor.
I am guessing this is a controversial choice of actor but I do believe he has the skills and the look.

I think Efron could do a great job as Steve Rogers.

	i think you make some good points but we do have to bare in mind who has already signed onto the avengers, Sam J as Fury, Downey as IM, Hemsworth as Thor, not sure he would be able to command them on screen, he simply doesn't have the presence. He may command the high school masses thats why they keep casting him in that enviroment, but i dont think he could handle the three guys that i've mentioned. 	If I saw this article yesterday, I would have responded in a similar fashion. But after seeing 17 Again, I was impressed. @Face- I get what you mean about him not being able to hold his own against Downey Jr et al. maybe your right. But if we can past the HSM nonsense, he does seem to exude charisma. When I first saw pic of Chris Pine as Kirk, I thought 'hell no! That pretty boy?' But my God he was charismatic. Could be the same with Efron. Ackles looks more appropriate, certainly. But the only thing I've seen him act in was My Bloody Valentine and I was not impressed. 	I will reserve my judgement on this until after I see 'Me and Orson Wells' next year. It is an Indy film and it got outstandign reviews at the Toronto IFF and at the Woodstock Film Festival. HSM sucks but not because of him. 17 Again was really funny and with a shitload of awesome scifi references. He's not a Disney actor. Grease and Saturday Night Fever, in other words singing and dancing just like Zac Efron. Who is Travolta now? He is billed as a screen icon and has turned in some great performances.
