**BLUDHAVEN ORPHANAGE**
Dick (V.O): My life changed that day when my mom and dad died, not only did they die, but a part of me died... I'm 14 now... 2 years and I've still not gotten over it... not even a little. I got so hellbent on revenge for so long I nearly lost myself... It all started when I turned 13 in the orphanage..
DICK SITS ALONE AS OTHER ORPHANS PLAY WITH EACHOTHER, WRESTLE AND TALK, DICK IGNORES IT AND DRAWS OUT A COSTUME...
Dick: (V.O) I never did get along in the orphanage, I chose to be an outcast, it was easier than being something I'm not...
FAT KID THROWS PAPER BALLS AT DICK, DICK HOLDS HIS COOL UNTIL...
Fat Kid: Hey! Flying GAYson!!! Haha see what I did there!
DICK GROWS TIRED OF IT AFTER BEING INSULTED A FEW MORE TIMES, STANDS UP...
Fat Kid: Oh... Looky here! Flying GAYson decided to do something
Dick: Listen here, you saying gay isn't funny and I don't like you insulting my family!
FAT KID LAYS HIS HAND ON DICK'S SHOULDER, DICK LOOKS AT HIM
Fat Kid: What are you going to do about it...
Dick: Touch me again... And there will be a problem
FAT KID TAKES SWING AT DICK, DICK DUCKS AND TURNS IN AND HEAD BUTTS THE FAT KID, DICK KICKS HIS LEG AND MAKES HIM FALL, DICK GETS ON HIM AND PUNCHES HIM REPEATEDLY, DRAWING BLOOD FROM THE FAT KID'S NOSE
Dick: (Lands 3 more brutal punches) WHAT NOW!!!
ORPHANAGE MANAGER, MAGGIE, RUNS IN AND GRABS DICK, DICK SHRUGS OFF AND RUNS OUT KNOCKING A NUN DOWN ON HIS WAY... THEY RUN AFTER HIM BUT DICK CLIMBS A LADDER TO THE TOP OF A BUILDING, SEES THE MEN AND JUMPS OFF ONTO ANOTHER BUILDING, THEN TO ANOTHER, AND FLIPPING TO ANOTHER, LOSES HIS GRIP AND FALLS THROUGH AN ALLEY AND LANDS ON A PILE OF TRASHBAGS, NEARLY BREAKING HIS ARM
Dick: Ahhh.... Jesus...
Voice: You are to young to travel the streets of Bludhaven alone Dick
Dick (Looks up quickly, sees BATMAN): H--Ho--How-- How do you know my name?!?!
Batman: I remember watching your parents perform at Haley Brother's circus... Before you were born, before I was who I am today
Dick: Congratulations... I have to go
Batman: You can't go back, you don't belong there, you are something different and will never be the same if you go back there.
Dick: What are you talking about?
Batman: If you go back there you will never be who you should be... You are more than a scarred kid... A kid who is so angry, I was there once, knowone deserves that...
Dick: Will you help me get Zucco?
Batman: Zucco is dead... But you can stop more than him...
DICK LOOKS UP AT BATMAN, THINKS FOR A SECOND
BRUCE IS SHOWN GETTING CUSTODY OF DICK, DICK TOURS WAYNE MANOR AND TRAINS WITH BRUCE. DICK SPARS BRUCE AND LEARNS HOW TO USE EXTRACTABLE BATONS, LOOKS AT THE BATCAVE. ALFRED LOOKS DOWN IN THE BATCAVE SEEING DICK AND BRUCE... TURNS TO WALK THROUGH THE OTHER DOOR.
