Rumor: Stephanie Szostak is Janet Van Dyne AKA The Wasp in Iron Man 3

Has Stephanie Szostak's mysterious role, in the upcoming Iron-man 3 movie, just been revealed? If this rumor is true then fans of the Wasp will surely be happy.

Janet VanDyne, AKA The wasp, was one of the founding members of the avengers, along her husband, Henry Pym AKA Ant-Man. If the rumor is true, does that mean we will see the Wasp and Ant-man in Avengers 2? Only Time will tell

wouldn't be my first choice for wasp but i'm willing to give her a chance.
staypuffed - 11/14/2012, 2:30 PM
I hope this is true, it would be awesome to see Wasp and Ant-Man on screen. I get the feeling Renner doesn't want to do another Avengers, I remember him saying he wasn't happy with Hawkeye in the end.
KaneVonDoom - 11/14/2012, 2:37 PM
I've had a feeling about her casting as Wasp since she was announced and we knew she wasn't Maya. If this turns out to be true, awesome!
Avenged99 - 11/14/2012, 2:37 PM
Wasp sure, Antman... meh, to cheesy!!!
JordanKing - 11/14/2012, 2:39 PM
Okay, we officially Nuked the Fridge. This rumor is based on nothing more then fan speculation.
DukeAcureds - 11/14/2012, 2:40 PM
I could barely make out what that squeeky fake US TV voice was talking about, but it sounded like the guy didn't specify a role.
It wouldn't make sense for Wasp to be in any movie before Ant-Man. The whole reason they weren't in The Avengers was because Edgar wanted to debut the characters in his film and not before and they took so gorram long with Ant-Man that they tottaly missed the boat, despite the movie being developed way before ANY of the MCU flicks we have so far had.
That sentence was really long.

She is very Wasp-like, though (just Googled her).
But I'm still not sold.
Ashdm - 11/14/2012, 2:54 PM
This would be SO GOOD. I really hope she is.
JDUKE25 - 11/14/2012, 2:55 PM
Go for it.

P.S. she's gorgeous

Hope its true, but I hope Mrs marvel is in the avengers 2.
RorMachine - 11/14/2012, 3:13 PM
Nobody did an article because it's bull. This began as rampant fan speculation, and escalated into unsubstantiated rumor. You'll notice there is no actual source cited anywhere.
DukeAcureds - 11/14/2012, 3:33 PM
She-Hulk or Crystal.
I really can't see Wasp being introduced, before Ant-Man, besides the fact that the Ant-Man and Wasp period is supposedto be set inthe '80s so in the present day Jan would be a Milf, not a hot young french honey.
She-Hulk is slightly unlikely, because female super-hero movies have a bad stigma with movie execs, but Hulk was hugely popular in The Avengers so she could be in The Avengers 2 and she's obviously showing strength in the trailer (or moree accurately the trailer is showing her strength).
But I think the smart money, here, is on Crystal, because Marvel have an Inhumans flick in development and it may be nearing pre-production, now.
RobinNumbah6 - 11/14/2012, 3:47 PM
I choked on my spit when i saw this. I hope it's true.
mctrinket - 11/14/2012, 3:47 PM
Where are you guys getting Crystal? That makes zero sense.
rockerdude22 - 11/14/2012, 3:47 PM
@cipher and LEVI Don't start without me!

rockerdude22 - 11/14/2012, 3:48 PM
Oh, and if true, great news!
jimpinto24 - 11/14/2012, 3:49 PM
They should introduce Wasp in Ant-Man
GodzillaKart - 11/14/2012, 3:49 PM
Far as I can tell there is no reason to believe this.
AztecRainGod - 11/14/2012, 3:50 PM

Can AntMan be far behind??
Bread - 11/14/2012, 3:52 PM
BANE5000 - 11/14/2012, 3:53 PM
She hasn't been fully confirmed to be Wasp

Heres where this all came from:

Some more interesting tweets from the infamous Roger Wardell....

1. Inside News: When Stephanie Szostak's role is for Iron Man 3 is announced, fans will go crazy.

2. The Avengers was about assembling to save the world, but in Avengers 2 the team will be assembling to save themselves.

So its anyones guess what this could mean...
76cidgrad - 11/14/2012, 3:55 PM
I checked her out in Wikipedia. She's listed in the cast of IRON MAN 3 as Janet Van Dyne...
MatioShack - 11/14/2012, 3:58 PM
Interesting. I'd have thought they'd save her for the Ant Man movie. I just hope she's not a huge part of it. X-Men had this problem with trying to introduce too many characters in one movie, and I'd hate to see the Disney/Marvel films start to fall in to that trap.
marvel54 - 11/14/2012, 4:02 PM
am in she is hot
superotherside - 11/14/2012, 4:02 PM
I have no idea if this is true or not... kinda hope it is though... would be perfect way to introduce Wasp. I will say one thing though, if this is true... I might start believing Roger Wardell. Although he didn't say she is Wasp...
Ranger14 - 11/14/2012, 4:09 PM
"Nobody did an article because it's bull. This began as rampant fan speculation, and escalated into unsubstantiated rumor. You'll notice there is no actual source cited anywhere."

You mean editors here have never posted rumor or speculative news before? Really? Clever Movies is reporting the's at the start of the video... so that would be the source.

Like we have never seen Rumor in article titles before...This one starts out with it. What's the issue?
Jollem - 11/14/2012, 4:15 PM
i care for wasp the same as i care for ant-man and pretty much the avengers in general, which is to say not really much at all

@LEVI and cipher Alright, good to know lol! Cheers, bros!

In case you were wondering who is Roger Wardell:

Roger Wardell is to Marvel Movies what Perez Hilton is to Celebrities.

rockerdude22 - 11/14/2012, 4:28 PM
Man, can you imagine what life would be like without booze? lol
Ranger14 - 11/14/2012, 5:00 PM
Screenrant, Geektyrant and Film Thrasher have all reported this as rumor and there are enough "Likes" to warrant it as front page news, but someone on their high horse moves the article off main. Sad. I'm going to laugh if it is true, which it all does make sense. Much more so than a lot of other rumor articles that never come true here.
AlibiBreakfast - 11/14/2012, 5:14 PM
Can someone explain to me what's so great about The Wasp? Ant-Man also becomes tiny, so isn't her power redundant?
Ranger14 - 11/14/2012, 5:52 PM
It's a travestshamockery!

Using IMDB as a source for a rumor article that Tom Hardy would play Harvey Bullock in TDKR, yet this news is bull and rampant fan speculation. IMDB on the other hand is so reliable for non-speculative reporting. *face palm*
KingLing - 11/14/2012, 6:05 PM
When she said that the tweet said "Fans would go nuts," I thought of Squirrel girl, not some random character named Nut no one has heard of. I'd be fine with a Squirrel girl introduction.
smgmayhem - 11/14/2012, 6:26 PM
I know this might not matter because its Wikipedia and its contributions involve users but if you go to her Wikipedia page, under the Iron Man 3 role it lists her as Janet Van Dyne. I mean check her tweets and see if she lets on a hint to it at least. On the Iron Man 3 Wiki page it has her listed as unspecified and Marvel has done this before to preserve the surprise for fans. For all we know it can be true.
DioFoRio - 11/14/2012, 10:50 PM
how is 15 thumbs up not front page? thought we the readers decided what was worthy?
