Despite there being hundreds of actors out there who would literally kill to land a role in J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII, Denis Lawson, now sixty-six years old, claims that he actually turned down a role. Many Star Wars fans will know him for his role as Wedge Antilles, even though he isn't a very popular character from the original trilogy, so it is hard to believe him when he says that he got the call from the studio to return as Luke Skywalker's friend. But it is popular that they may have wanted to reunite as many people as possible from the original trilogy to make hardcore fans all giddy inside. "I'm not going to do that," he said when asked by The Courier if he'd return. "They asked me but it just would have bored me." Bored? HA. He actually said a while ago in an interview with Scotsman that he knows how "it's interesting to other people but I get really bored talking about it." It makes sense that he turned down the chance considering the fact that he never really liked the movie. He joins the small group people that don't like Star Wars.

Original Trilogy stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, and Peter Mayhew will unite with a completely new cast for the currently untitled Star Wars Episode VII, including John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, and Andy Serkis. The movie will hit theaters December 18, 2015.

I think Lando will appear, they just haven't announced yet (or they may even keep it a secret).

The level of stupidity in those comments is too damn high.

I would much rather have Admiral Ackbar back

over Lando

Wow, even THIS guy was asked to come back? They MUST have asked Billy Dee Williams too.

JediPhilosopher - 5/12/2014, 7:16 PM

And this might actually be the first person I've ever met who actually doesn't like Star Wars AT ALL!

Its strange that he doesn't like Star Wars, as he did return to the Wedge role for the Rogue Squadron 2 game for Gamecube.

Wedge has always been jealous of Luke for blowing up the Death Star. Fact!
TheDarkPassenger - 5/12/2014, 7:36 PM
I'm sorry...why should I care about you and you're 10 minutes of screen time in the series?
ruadh - 5/12/2014, 9:06 PM

I'm thinking Lando will probably show up in episode VIII... and betray them again! hahahahaa that would be an awesome twist. but in all seriousness, i'm pretty sure Lando will be in the series still. maybe he's not been announced or Billy Dee hasn't agreed or maybe just not the first of this trilogy.

Ewan McGregor's uncle Denis finds Star Wars boring. XD Classic.

Why do some people find a busy actor who doesn't want to do Star Wars so bloomin' hard to believe?

When people choose to be actors appearing in Star Wars (twice!) isn't always everyone's primary ambition.
ndwwrestler2 - 5/13/2014, 7:04 AM
@TheDarkPassenger 10 minutes? I think you're being a bit generous there...

They can honestly get another actor for Wedge anyway. Although I'm kind of disappointed that this guy feels that way.

I believe Lando is going to appear in this trilogy, he may not appear in episode 7, but I believe that he will be in 8 & 9.

Yeah, because playing a loved character in a movie is not as important as, say; curing cancer or something really important or even anything else at all, oh yeah moron isn't doing anything else either.
fullmetal - 5/13/2014, 6:06 PM
He has more important things to do...like masturbating and getting old and fat.
