Former SNL Cast Member to Pen LOONEY TUNES Reboot

The short lived SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE regular best known for dropping the f-bomb during her first appearance (and not being asked to return the following year) has been hired to write the latest attempt at bringing a live-action/CGI LOONEY TUNES film to screens.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, WARNER BROTHERS has tasked Jenny Slate with writing the script for a new live-action/cgi film that would reboot the LOONEY TUNES.

This would be the third attempt, along with the films LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION and SPACE JAM, at such a project since 1996.

Why WB is so intent on mixing the LOONEY TUNES characters with live-action actors instead of simply making a new animated film for them to star in, is unknown.

One of the producers on the reboot is Seth Grahame-Smith, writer of recent films DARK SHADOWS and ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE KILLER.

Brendan Fraser and Jenna Elfman headlined the previous attempt at bringing back Bugs Bunny and pals, LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION (directed by Joe Dante).

Tbh I actually liked the last two live action movies so I'm interested to see what this'll be like, but I'm not excited cause it'll probably be crap.

THR (the original source) says that this movie will be a live action/CGI hybrid.

Thanks for pointing out the original source, PaulRom. It was in the weeks best stories at ROTTEN TOMATOES and didn't link to a source, so I thought RT themselves were the source. I have corrected the article to credit THR for the story :)!
