Winner of the CBM Fan Cast Poll for who should portray Marvel's Dr. Strange.

In CBM editor Brent Sprecher's poll, the fans have chosen Johnny Depp as who they would want as the master of mysticism! Although he is my very favorite contender for the role of The Riddler, in Nolan's last addition to the bat-franchise, i have to say he's a very decent choice for Dr. Strange! He is very versatile even if this role is in no way different from his usual performances. Here's...

Bleedin deadly pic. I think Strange would actually be quite different to his usual kooky schtick. I have a feeling he would play him..well, strange! But not over the top a la Jack Sparrow.

Well Josh, this [frick]er's face was hard as hell to draw! Plus it took me like half a day to find a decent picture for this portrait. He's got one of those faces... And he almost always does the same poses which didn't fit what i wanted to do with this character. Thank god for Esquire LOL

Oded Fehr isn't the worst choice for Strange. Yes, he is no where near the best choices, but he isn't a horrible pick.

But he should be another doctor.......Doctor Fate of course!

CBM.... please do not start pulling some "off topic" or whatever people call those front page stories that are in their words "nothing to do with site..." cuz, personally i love hearing what sam jackson thinks about stuff and what Meagan Fox plans on doing with her vag. Shaman, how you like my intro sucka! Thought I'd be cool like that. You know, I think you are getting to a place where you will no longer be able to outdo yourself, I hope not lol. What more can I say, you have talent. Now draw me a Gambit sketch.

Johnny would be my 2nd pick for the good Doctor. I'm firm on the belief Liam Neeson was born for this role, and everything he has ever done was to lead him up to it, and by god, I'm standing my ground. Great cast nonetheless, and I'd certainly by 98% as psyched if Depp were to get the role.

Edit: is it me, or could he that sketch slightly pass for Giovanni Ribisi? Maybe I'm just... drunk is the term.

Liam Neeson or Johnny Depp? They both are very decent actors so its a hard decision, but i will say Liam Neeson be cause he has the looks of wise sorcerer like Merlin or something?! And Dr. Strange needs those looks!

I think he may look the part but there is no way in hell he could pull it off. Johny Depp is a great actor but when I think of Dr. Strange I cant see him actually pulling it off.

InFamouslyCool- Well when i sketch an actor for a role, i do like to keep it as classic looking as possible. I don't modernise anything really, i stick to the comics. I would hope that in making this film they could bring in a fresh look to keep up with the times. Nothing to drastic of course ;)

Weiner123- Thank you! And i can't wait to see yours :) I normally don't sketch portraits of actors if their role needs a full face mask. Can't really tell if its them ya know? I think the fullest mask i've done so far was my sketch of Adrian Pasdar as Batman.

Fartman- You know i agree 110% with ya there ;)

ALmighty1080- I can see that the jaw structure is similar to Urban's but those really look nothing like Karl's lips LOL :P

supermarioworldE- I also think they'd need some make up work to age him abit. He does have one of those "forever young" faces...

TheMyth- LMFAO!!!! You actually made me pee a little LOL :P And i wanted to do an older sketch of Gambit with the picture of Bill Campbell but i can't find a decent one. As for a younger Gambit... I've already sketched Josh Holloway as Green Arrow plus i don't think Kitch is doing that bad of a job. Of course your choice of Vinny Cassel is decent but nothing really blows my skirt up for a Gambit sketch yet. But keep your eyes peeled ;) And yes, if you look quickly at my sketch, it does have a "Ribisi from Gone in 60 seconds" vibe to it ;P

Spock- True, but i never warp a picture for my sketch. Those are how his brow appear on his picture. If i start altering facial features, it makes it even harder to have it look like the person i'm drawing.

shaman, nice pic. still think biehn is too short and not muscular enough to play the part. I love biehn. He's one of those actors who should be in great movies every year, but everyone has forgotten about him. He's definately got a good face for cable though.


maybe makeup could work for depp, but it'd be hard. just like for leo, or tobey

Thanks dude and good point! but he can beef up and they can use prosthetics and stuff. With the suit being padded up, i think he'd be good. Downey didn't look that short as Ironman so i don't think it's much of a problem for Biehn.

Well it's not a bad pic. I was gonna base it on a Aeon Flux pic but wasn't sure which one. I kinda like "photoshoot" poses for my portraits. They look straight at you in an intense way. If i don't find a better one, yours will be a very good choice, thanks ;)

Thanks scarface and i also agree with you. I'm just saying that Dr Strange isn't "a stretch" for him. But Depp is one of the most versatile actors out there. He was also THE ONLY THING decent in Once upon a squat on Mexihole.
