Michael Fassbender Confirms Presence Of "Recognizable Creatures" In Prometheus

As a part of Entertainment Weekly's first-look at Ridley Scott's Prometheus, they sat down with actors Michael Fassbender ('David') and Charlize Theron ('Meredith Vickers') to discuss the film's much-speculated connection(s) to Scott's Alien film series. Fassbender confirmed that 'recognizable creatures' will be present in the sci-fi film, and that there's 'definitely a link to Alien' (something that director Scott confirmed a couple weeks ago). Theron, on the other hand, says that people should 'let go' of the idea of Prometheus being an Alien film.

The top-secret project, about a team of scientists whose spaceship (called Prometheus) gets marooned on a distant planet, has been teased as an Alien prequel, and although Scott and his cast won’t confirm that for sure, they certainly aren’t denying it. “There’s definitely a link to Alien,” claims Fassbender before adding, “There’s creatures in it that you’ll recognize.”

But other cast members, like Theron, are playing coy. Says the actress, “I think people should really let go of the idea that it’s an Alien film.”

Prometheus hits theaters June 8th, 2012. The first trailer is expected to be released fairly soon.

I like how this is about Fassbender but the teaser image is of Theron! I have not problems with this :)
PaulRom - 11/23/2011, 7:52 AM
@Brashlight Well, it's really about both of them. I just felt like using that particular image of Theron anyways. ;)
grifter - 11/23/2011, 7:54 AM
The guy on the left kinda looks like Tom Hardy.
ThaMessenger07 - 11/23/2011, 7:56 AM
That's Logan Marshall-Green, I always think he's Tom Hardy when I see him in Trailers. He was in Devil & Brooklyn's Finest, talented actor...
BigTodd71 - 11/23/2011, 7:57 AM

MovieMann - 11/23/2011, 8:12 AM
It is a movie that has Aliens in it!
But the Aliens aren't the main focus!
Why can't people understand that!?
RunDTC - 11/23/2011, 8:27 AM
anyone else feel Theron is slightly ( slightly ) overrated in the hotness department.
RunDTC - 11/23/2011, 8:27 AM

maybe the derelict alien spaceship which were stocked on a planetoids found by the crew of the Nostromo in Alien was the Prometheus.
Aaesir - 11/23/2011, 8:47 AM
@PaulRom: Not sure if you noticed, but the woman standing in the middle isn't Charlize Theron. It's Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw.
PaulRom - 11/23/2011, 8:51 AM
@Aesir I know, there wasn't a pic with Theron and Fassbender so I decided to use that.
marvel72 - 11/23/2011, 8:55 AM

why don't they just come out and say it is a prequel already. It's what people want and are hoping for
PaulRom - 11/23/2011, 9:38 AM
@Zigggggy I just looked that scene up. :D
Shaman - 11/23/2011, 10:07 AM
Theron is the next Sharon Stone/Michelle Pfeifer, which i would still tap btw. Profusely i might add.
jimoakley666 - 11/23/2011, 10:51 AM
That big old human stone face is VERY intriguing.
Aaesir - 11/23/2011, 10:52 AM
@PaulRom: Right on.
I'm really hoping this film turns out well. Riddley has been on point for the past several films he's done. I hope he can relight his fire again. This would be the perfect vehicle to do so if done successfully.
marvel72 - 11/23/2011, 10:59 AM
@ nomis

good call,"Garrett Hedlund for Johnny"

yeah i never knew why they didn't use a cgi thing, best way of getting the actual size & weight of him.
Shaman - 11/23/2011, 11:04 AM
Zigggggy- What i meant was, Charlize Theron, as she's maturing and ripening into a wonderful looking MILF, is very much so following in the footsteps of Sharon Stone and Michelle Pfeiffer, who've also become very [frick]able MILFs. I'm not saying Charlize was as gorgious ten years ago as Sharon was twenty years ago. Then again, they never were oceans apart in beauty, no matter at what age. We're not exactly comparing Maggie Gyllenhaal to Megan Fox here.
graveyardtramp - 11/23/2011, 11:16 AM
I like how this movie is shaping up but damn that photoshopped EW image is so obvious and off-putting, it's like it came from a MAD Magazine parody.
AlexDeLarge87 - 11/23/2011, 11:34 AM
I would be Charlize´s bitch anytime!:P
snowman5379 - 11/23/2011, 11:39 AM
Ugh...of course my EW subscription expired 2 weeks ago!
Braveheart - 11/23/2011, 11:49 AM
Noomi Rapace looks sexy in that spacesuit!! anybody notice that dude Marshall resembles that statue's face in the background?
headlopper - 11/23/2011, 12:25 PM
Hurmmm....creatures that we'll recognize..., now let me think.
WHAT could he means!! OHHHHHHH, I got it NOW!!!!

marvel72 - 11/23/2011, 12:43 PM
@ headlopper

i recently got the complete star wars saga on blu-ray for my birthday, when the jawa's speak for the first time you should of seen the grin on my face.

sheer brilliance.
cherokeesam - 11/23/2011, 12:44 PM
When he says "creatures you'll recognize," I'm betting he's talking about the space jockey moreso than the xenomorphs.

As others have said, the movie will *feature* the xenomorph aliens, but they probably won't be the focus of the movie. And probably not the only aliens in the movie.
RunDTC - 11/23/2011, 2:56 PM
@Zigggggy: yeah, I did see that movie.
StrangeBlackPantherDoctor - 11/23/2011, 3:32 PM
This is my most anticipated non comic book movie or hobbit movie of 2012.
abw2 - 11/23/2011, 9:09 PM

...YES..., I am VERY MUCH EAGER to SEE THIS MOVIE...!!!... *cool*/P :)

HanBurgundy - 11/23/2011, 10:07 PM
@brashlight - Until you see her in Monster........and then you can never look at her the same.

She's hot......but not as hot as you make her out to be. She cant hold a candle to someone like Natalie Portman.
HanBurgundy - 11/23/2011, 10:09 PM
@0TheQuestion0 - That already happened.......and it wasn't awesome.
