New Plot Details For THE TWILIGHT ZONE And TRANSCENDENCE
Some new plot details have been revealed for two of Warner Bros.' upcoming sci-fi projects, The Twilight Zone (based on the classic TV series) and Transcendence (TDKR cinematographer Wally Pfister's directorial debut starring Johnny Depp). Hit the jump to check it out.

Warner Bros. have been developing a Twilight Zone feature film for some time. After directors Michael Bay (Transformers) and Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises) were being considered for the Leonardo DiCaprio-produced movie, Cloverfield's Matt Reeves was signed on to helm the project with the studio hoping to put it into production this summer. However, The Twilight Zone had a major bump in development after Reeves dropped out to direct Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, which was the last we've heard on the film until now. In their feature about upcoming time travel movies, Vulture have revealed our first idea on the Twilight Zone film's plot. According to the site, the movie "follows a test pilot who winds up breaking the speed of light; when he puts down his craft, he discovers that he’s landed a bit late for supper — 96 years late (past or future?)." So this film will use time travel as a jumping point similar to many of the television series' episodes.
Speaking of upcoming science fiction films, we also have some new plot details for another WB-distributed project. Transcendence will be the directorial debut of Wally Pfister (cinematographer for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy and Inception), and Johnny Depp was recently reported to star. Noomi Rapace (Prometheus), Christian Bale (The Dark Knight), Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained), Tobey Maguire (Spider-Man) and James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class) have all been said to be considered for roles in the film, and Nolan is executive producing. The Wrap report that Transcendence (which has a budget of $120M) is currently being shopped to international buyers at the American Film Market. In their article reporting the news, the site include some new plot info for the film. "The story follows three scientists, attempting work on stem cell and advanced computer technology, which will change the fundamentals of human life. Tension comes into play when they are met by protest and resistance." Filming is expected to commence in February 2013.
