By Paul Romano - 11/26/2012
Catching up with Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton), fifteen years after the traumatic incident involving a gingerbread house, the siblings have grown into vengeful bounty hunters dedicated to exterminating witches. Over the years, the siblings became expert hunters, famous for their proficiency at tracking and taking down their prey. Although still recovering from their ordeal, their work is relatively easy as for an unknown reason harmful spells and curses do not work well against them.

The Mayor of Augsburg recruits them to rid the town and nearby forests of an evil sorceress (Famke Janssen) who is planning to sacrifice many local children at the witches' gathering during the upcoming 'Blood Moon' night in two days time. To make things worse, the duo also has to deal with the brutal Sheriff Berringer (Peter Stormare) who has taken power in Augsburg and conducts a very indiscriminate witch-hunt of his own.

Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters is set to hit theaters January 25th in 3D and IMAX 3D.

Hansel & Gretel is going to be kick ass!

I wonder if Jeremy Renner's Hansel character will get hypnotised by the witch and spend two-thirds of the film as her personal whipping-boy.... causing Renner to bemoan that this was not what he signed up for.

I saw it last October. Its good. Popcorn film, nothing more. Gemma is hot, Jeremy is the same character he always plays. Some plot points are over stupid SPOILER ALERT*** (hansel having "sugarsickness" from too much candy at the Witches house*** end spoiler alert.

Its left open for sequel at the end, but without better writting it would bbe unneccecary

I kinda look forward this too. Red band trailer had that edgy Evil Dead / Army of Darkness thing going on.

The steampunk thing doesnt strike me that much thou. Van Helsing would have been hundred times better without it.

But will see. I dont judge yet.

Hmmm. Looks extraordinarily bad.
DocHorrible - 11/26/2012, 4:26 PM
It reminds me of a cross between Van Helsing and The Brothers Grimm.

I'm not wasting my money on this garbage, I'll wait for the $1 Redbox, that's all this movie is worth.
HachibiTheMC - 11/28/2012, 9:45 AM
@Stumblin

Redbox may be too good for this shark chum. I'm thinking more Pirate Bay. The only thing Im willing to waste on this is a few MB of hard drive space.
Stumblin - 11/28/2012, 11:43 AM
@HachibiTheMC, damn, you straight kicked this movie to the curb of disappointment. Well done haha!
