Recently, we heard the news that Christoph Waltz (The Green Hornet, Django Unchained) was in talks to star in Disney's planned sequel to The Muppets, which begins production early next year. Now, we have the disappointing news that, due to the actor's schedule, a deal wasn't able to be made. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ty Burrell (who has won several awards for his work on ABC's Modern Family) is set to replace Waltz as an Interpol inspector in the Europe-set sequel. Burrell's character is one of the film's key human roles, as well as a Russian femme fatale who has yet to be cast. As expected, a slew of celebrity cameos is expected. Burrell recently finished voicing Mr. Peabody in Dreamworks Animation's Mr. Peabody & Sherman, which hits theaters in November 2013. James Bobin, who helmed the 2011 Muppets film which grossed $158M worldwide, is returning to direct the sequel, and he's also co-writing with Nicholas Stoller. The follow-up will begin filming this January in London, and currently has a release date of December 20th, 2013.

What? The Muppets sequel is not trying to sell out like Alvin and the Chipmunks! Everyone behind the scenes EXCEPT Jason Segel is returning! Just because Jason Segel was in the movie, wasn't the reason why it was great.

Christoph Waltz was in Green Hornet, let's not forget that mess as well. Eitherway, I'm half saddened but idk, maybe some good can come out.

To paraphrase what Intruder would probably say:

"Waltz probably had to drop out because he's going to be filming for TASM 2 next year."

If only, Trudy.

Both would be great, sorry we're not getting Waltz though.

I'll never understand the love for Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory. the shaky cam especially pisses me off in Moder Family. It was annoying in Boston Legal but completely horrendous in MF.
It's like there haven't been good comedies since Frasier, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond and FRIENDS, and even they started slowing down in their later seasons.
