At least that's the word on the street.

What made this a great movie is that it was unabashedly Bond. Albeit decrepit.

If it wasn't a Bond movie it woulda just been ho-hum.
Greengo - 12/27/2012, 7:53 AM

I love that movies are being released so much sooner on DVD/Blu-Ray now.

Just my luck, the DVD is released one day after my birthday. Actually, I could pre-order it. Problem solved.

saw this at the IMAX it's a good flick but too Nolan inspired in that it was very much a product of trying to make it relative to this universes Earth like his Batmans which took away from the magic of what the film could have been. No cool gadgets, no amazing chase sequences, not even any particularly witty dialogue either

cinema gives us the opportunity to escape this universes Earth for a couple hours so it's a shame when they don't utilise great potential when they have the opportunity. I love Nolans movies and his Batman trilogy is amazing but I do think it would of been even more amazing if he had created a more comic book esque Gotham instead of having it be basically any random American city of today, here

and I felt similar with Bond, whilst a great movie I don't think it lived up to the potential that the history and universe built around the character and it's source material afforded it.

Logan5 - 12/28/2012, 6:48 PM
I never thought Nolan whilst watching this, but now that you mention it, quality is quality. This is one of, if not the best Bond films I've ever seen in the theaters dating back to Octopussy. Let's hate on it for generation's sake. Skyfall is worth your money and a great film. Release your politics or hatred of Nolan at the door and enjoy one of the best, most beautifully visual James Bond films ever made! Elba is a great actor(top5), he ain't Bond!
Logan5 - 12/28/2012, 6:50 PM
The fact that Skyfall was still an option stateside at Christmas should also speak volumes for the film.
Logan5 - 12/28/2012, 7:11 PM
By the way, we just need two more Craig Bond films. He is prime for that. Stop the bullshit hit generation campaigns; Craig is Bond. Hell I'd watch him as Bond for 5 more, but he realistically has two more great ones in him.
Pharaoh - 12/31/2012, 7:33 AM
they definitely shouldn't get rid of Craig as Bond, I feel he has just started to dig his teeth into the character and should certainly get at very least one more movie which combines the realism and grit of Skyfall with the flamboyancy and extravagance of earlier bond flicks
