While Star Trek Into Darkness is scheduled to open on May 17th, Paramount Pictures has announced via the sequel's official mobile app that special "fan preview" IMAX 3D screenings of the J.J. Abrams-directed sci-fi epic will be shown two days prior. The app includes a Fandago button to purchase tickets for these screenings, but for those who don't have downloaded the app, you can click the source link below and type in your zip code onto the official Fandago website to see if the film will be playing near you. An official Super Bowl spot for the sequel will be released later today, so stay tuned for that. Many thanks to Trek Movie for the heads up.

Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Alice Eve and Anton Yelchin. The film is set to hit theaters May 17th.

Does anyone know when Iron Man, Star Trek, and other movies will show the trailer? Usually they would release some kind of schedule that will tell you during what quarter a commercial will play.

Is anyone else getting a Fandango message that says

"Sorry, we are unable to process your order. Please try a different showtime."

So sad!!

I refuse to support 3D. At its best, it brings some fullness to establishing shots. Mostly, it's a constant series of visual distractions which remove me from the story.

I got my tickets for this advanced screening three days ago! *does a gloating dance*

I'm super excite for this one, right up there with Man of Steel, Iron Man 3 and Pacific Rim this summer.

@Wildaniel Agreed, but the 3D, for one, didn't bother me one bit on the 9-minute preview.

Just got two tickets. Fyi if you saw the preview for the hobbit you already know.... I hate 3d but I personally thought the different depths and angles they used in it were breathtaking. Best 3d since avatar in my opinion. This is truly a trekkies treat :)
