According to Film Music Reporter, fan favorite composer Michael Giacchino has signed on to score Andy and Lana Wachowski's upcoming sci-fi film Jupiter Ascending, which is currently in pre-production and expected to be released sometime in 2014. Filming will begin this spring. Giacchino, who is currently working on J.J. Abrams' Star Trek Into Darkness (out May 17th), previously worked with the Wachowskis on Speed Racer. The writing/directing duo's next film "is set in a time where humans are at the bottom of the evolutionary ladder and are watched by higher forms of life and follows a woman who has been targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe." Always good news when Mr. Giacchino is scoring a movie.

Hope The Wachowskis move into "Justice League" after this project. I'm not even kidding, either them or Snyder are the only ones that could save that project.

Them or Kevin Smith. I think he could do it!

@Asterisk Is that a joke, or do you genuinely believe that? I haven't seen Kevin Smith's films, only his stand-up(?), so I can't agree or disagree with you.
