Speaking with Collider while promoting The Place Beyond The Pines, actor Dane DeHaan talks briefly about The Amazing Spider-Man 2, in which he plays Harry Osborn. He will soon join the currently shooting set of the anticipated sequel, and he had this to say about the script (which was written by James Vanderbilt, Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Jeff Pinkner). "It’s awesome. It really is. It’s human and it’s deep and it’s also epic and still a huge superhero movie. But it all makes sense and it all comes from very human elements and I think people are really going to love it." Sounds good to me. He also expresses his excitement for again working with Chris Cooper, who was recently cast as Norman Osborn. "I’m so excited! I made my first movie ever with Chris Cooper. In a way, it’s all come full circle. I have mad respect for Chris Cooper. He’s just amazing." Stay tuned to CBM for more news as we have it.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Shailene Woodley, Dane DeHaan, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper and Sally Field. The film is set to hit theaters May 2nd, 2014.

Turns out I didn't have to click the article because you put almost his entire quote in the teaser.
marvel72 - 3/9/2013, 10:16 AM

marvel72 - 3/9/2013, 10:24 AM
@ LEVITIKUZ

i thought watchmen was pretty much word for word what was written in the graphic novel,so they can't really take credit for that.
InfiniteMonkey - 3/9/2013, 10:28 AM
When one say's its "human" what do they mean?
Emotionally? I'm having to get a grip on reality that some of these scrips may be written in a non-human way if not mentioned as such. LOL
GodzillaKart - 3/9/2013, 10:34 AM
Should be good.
GodzillaKart - 3/9/2013, 10:35 AM
I'm not sure about this guy as Harry though. His hair doesn't even look like it came out of a waffle iron.

SpideyMan123 - 3/9/2013, 10:36 AM
TASM2 will be amazing
Spideyguy94 - 3/9/2013, 10:36 AM
@marvel72 but Star Trek is a very well written film and hopefully into darkness will be the same, mi3 is a good film as well. transformers 1&2 are bad but I'd put those movies sucking down to Michael bay, because he really changes the scripts to his liking in his movies.
TheMarvelWay - 3/9/2013, 10:41 AM
Like thats even his real unbiased opinion.
Every actor in any real studio film is giving memos informing them of what they can and cant say and what to say about the film in interviews.
TheBaroness89 - 3/9/2013, 10:44 AM
That's cool but honestly has there ever been an actor to say "Man this script sucks" while they are still filming the movie ? First one was good not great and I expect the second one to be much much better now that we have his "origin" out of the way and can get on to better stories.
Duhdaduh - 3/9/2013, 10:45 AM
i feel like chris cooper has a thing for playing shitty father roles
PapaMidnite - 3/9/2013, 10:58 AM
"human" script = full of holes and flaws! LOL
Chloefornication - 3/9/2013, 10:58 AM
Same shit they said about the first one and look what we've got.
Ranger14 - 3/9/2013, 11:01 AM
"TASM2 will be amazing"

Let's hope so. The first one certainly wasn't.
masterhater - 3/9/2013, 11:10 AM
Andrew better not stutter half as much in the second one. That was irritating.
JacksonVegaIII - 3/9/2013, 11:11 AM
Im really looking forward to this, the 1st one was pretty good, I thought it was the best spiderman movie so far, Garfield is a pitch perfect Parker, Stone was good, martin sheen was great as per usual hell even the terrible Hicks rip off o'leary was fine. My biggest beef with TAS was the lizard I dont think they pulled it off I didnt like the look of it and thought they couldve done more to make it much more frightening and threatening and I think Ifans was a bad choice. However almost every other aspect of the film was spot on Spiderman looks better, fights better, is cocky better and is a teenager better. Webb did a great job.
iJackSparrow - 3/9/2013, 11:14 AM
Harry Osborn has spoken. Excited as [frick]. BRING IT!
JacksonVegaIII - 3/9/2013, 11:15 AM
P.s The final fight scene in Chronicle(one of the best super hero films ever made!!!!) was great and is probably the closest thing to a decent Akira film we're ever goinmg to get... and now Tranks doin the fantastic four hurray!

cant wait for both these CBMsd
CrimsonArk - 3/9/2013, 11:17 AM
@ Cholefornication
I don't remember almost every actor that signed on for TASM praising it's script, hell the script wasn't even mentioned in interviews, usually the only times it was mentioned was when there were rewrites, like Protogoblin being written out. I don't remember there being any praises of it, especially from Andrew and Emma, and Dehaan is a new actor just signed on, interviewing for a different movie that has nothing to do with Sony. He didn't have to mention the script, he could have just said "I'm so stocked to be in it".

@ Levit
One of the writers from Lost and Fringe is also having a hand in writing the script.
prettynucIear - 3/9/2013, 11:18 AM
I'd rather watch TASM than 2 hours of Peter whining about how he doesn't have a girlfriend
FOOM - 3/9/2013, 11:24 AM
Would like TASM2 to be great. Hope Webb learns from his TASM mistakes and delivers. He has a great cast & the latest cgi technology at his disposal which means the only variables for lameness are the script & direction.
Gulon180 - 3/9/2013, 11:24 AM
fake ass DiCaprio
MercSoul - 3/9/2013, 11:26 AM
when they are filming, always says "this movie will be amazng, the best movie ever" and sometimes is the worst sh*t ever!
INSTANTJUSTICE - 3/9/2013, 11:43 AM

I prefer my super-heroes more 'mutant' than 'human'.
Jollem - 3/9/2013, 12:03 PM
can't wait for this. gonna be amazing x2 :) virtuoso web-slingin' spidey. [frick] yeah!
SunfireUrA55 - 3/9/2013, 12:05 PM
...and others calls it CRAP just like the first one.
Jollem - 3/9/2013, 12:20 PM
...and others call it WAFFLE IRON because they forgot their meds
Jollem - 3/9/2013, 12:45 PM
django unchained was great
IIIAdamantiumIII - 3/9/2013, 12:56 PM
lol if they give harry his iconic hair it will be hilariously awesome its like ginger cornrows
yingyangpalms - 3/9/2013, 1:15 PM
He could mean epic as in Epic-shit. And human as in Human-waste! That would indeed make it a true sequel to Webbs ASM.
Jollem - 3/9/2013, 1:23 PM
lol. ginger-rows
AmazingFantasy - 3/9/2013, 1:24 PM
@bropius- Go play in traffic.

Keen as [frick]
Nemeres - 3/9/2013, 1:25 PM
Maybe if this is actually any good, some fans will realize just how mediocre TASM was, having now something better to hold on to. But I have a good feeling about this one.
CaptainProg - 3/9/2013, 2:03 PM
Well he's not going to say it's going to be shit, is he? Let us be the judge of that little [frick]er!
DrDoom - 3/9/2013, 2:07 PM
Of course he's going to say it's good.

'Hey, I'm in this movie and I hate the script. Don't waste your money on this garbage.'
WhiteSAMURAI22 - 3/9/2013, 2:45 PM
Thing is can we trust his opinion? Probably not.
Pending - 3/9/2013, 2:46 PM
Let's hope there's real heart in this sequel instead of that manipulative garbage of a first film.
Jollem - 3/9/2013, 2:53 PM
manipulative garbage? the iron man movies are mostly cheap one-liners and quirkiness and food gags. spider-man crying because of his father to ben alone has more heart than rdjr. staring off into the distance for a bit

and no, of course he's not going to say it's shit, but he also didn't have to praise it as much as he did. and it sounded genuine

also, cooper as osborn. methinks the goblin will be cgi. make it creepy o.O
