Recently, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Jasper Sitwell, Maximiliano Hernandez, teased a return to the role of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agent this summer. Speculation pointed to his reprisal for either Captain America: The Winter Soldier or ABC's potential S.H.I.E.L.D. television series. Now, Deadline confirms that Hernandez will indeed be back for the former. He previously played the character in Thor, The Avengers, and Marvel One-Shots The Consultant and Item 47. Captain America: The Winter Soldier also stars Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Emily VanCamp, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo and Samuel L. Jackson. Joe and Anthony Russo (Community) are directing. With production beginning next month and set primarily in Cleveland, the Marvel Studios sequel is set to hit theaters April 4th, 2014.

Dude was solid in 'Warrior' as the promoter for Tom Hardy.
DrDoom - 3/21/2013, 3:17 PM
What about Hawkeye?
InfiniteMonkey - 3/21/2013, 3:18 PM
This bloke is so well known in all the movies that I don't even know he even existed in those movies...>_>...well done on his return nonetheless...
Sortis - 3/21/2013, 3:18 PM
Nice to see Jasper in the movies now, but he looks nothing like his comic counterpart =P
Ocelot - 3/21/2013, 3:22 PM
you would have thought that hawkeye would be in this movie, since it's essentialy a shield movie and hawkeye wont be getting his own film anytime soon.
sKeemAn - 3/21/2013, 3:22 PM
I can't remember him in any MCU movie.
rorywilliams - 3/21/2013, 3:23 PM
@DrDoom between Fury, the Falcon, Black Widow and Sharon Carter, there are already a lot of heroes for a solo film. Plus paying Renner for what'd probably be a small role might not be to Marvel's liking.
TheManFromMars - 3/21/2013, 3:26 PM
@sKeenAn

He was in Thor and The Avengers, he was also in the shorts "The Consultant" and "Item 47".
StormLoganSummers - 3/21/2013, 3:31 PM
So what, who cares. Is Zemo in this or not?
OrgasmicPotatoe - 3/21/2013, 3:39 PM
@StormLoganSummers

Yes, Zimos will be back !
HellsHammer - 3/21/2013, 3:41 PM
Have no memory of this guy at all
PantherX - 3/21/2013, 3:43 PM
@Ocelot Yes... or will he?
sKeemAn - 3/21/2013, 3:46 PM
@theManfrommars

Yeah but he wasn't memorable at all. (sarcasm) :}
thewonderer - 3/21/2013, 3:56 PM
I foresee Renner leaving the Hawkeye role if it remains so small.
devil - 3/21/2013, 4:19 PM
he sould make a cameo in the amazing spiderman 2
devil - 3/21/2013, 4:21 PM
and make a cameo in ant-man
tazmaniak - 3/21/2013, 4:25 PM
@HellsHammer, did you see the Marvel One Shots? He's the guy who's having the conversation with Coulson about Abomination and Tony in The Consultant.

In Item 47, he's the agent who's tracking down the couple who found the Chitauri weapon.

He appears in several short scenes in Thor, along with Coulson. He's present when Coulson takes Erik and Jane's research, when Coulson interrogates Thor and when the Destroyer arrives on Earth. He's the guy who asks Coulson if it's one of Stark's.

In Avengers, he serves as their computer expert. He's the one who locates Loki in Germany and helps to stabilize the Hellicarrier after Loki's attack.

Yeah, he's had some small parts, but I think he's been in enough that one would remember you've seen his face in several of the movies and shorts.

They seriously need to start including Renner more. He has star power now, so he could draw more audiences in, but if they don't use him, he might not have any reason to stay in the role. And it's a freakin' awesome role. Personally I thought Hawkeye had too little screen time in The Avengers. I was hoping for more in The Avengers 2, but it seems my hope for him being in Captain America 2 is dwindling.

Tazmaniack
Thanks for the info. Ill have to check those out again.
killerkooljames - 3/21/2013, 4:38 PM
@reasonn its funny that Max Hernandez is in Warrior playing Tom Hardys promoter. Frank Grillo was also in Warrior, playing Joel Edgerton's trainer.
Ocelot - 3/21/2013, 4:54 PM
@PantherX I dont think he'll be in this movie, even though he should be. He'll probably be killed off in avengers 2 if he's not in this movie. Feel for Renner hawekeye was a grunt in thor, and a grunt in the avengers. Character hasn't even been remotely developed. Lets hope that hawkeye will at least have a part to play and get some character development in this movie
RobbieDigital - 3/21/2013, 5:04 PM
They are trying to repeat the success they had with Agent Coulson......but he just doesn't have the same vibe as Coulson.....he's not the same.
thewonderer - 3/21/2013, 5:08 PM
Hawkeye being Loki's complete slave for 3/4ths of the Avengers was one of the huge problems with The Avengers so many overlook. Shouldn't have been a mechanic but if you were going to do it, do it to Black Widow who at least had quite a screentime in Iron Man 2.
Marauder - 3/21/2013, 5:14 PM
This guy got shot by Black Widow, remember that and he also likes Madame Masque!
vonstallin - 3/21/2013, 5:46 PM
funny....he plays an FBI agent on the tv show "The Americans"
Beatnation - 3/21/2013, 6:29 PM
... highly anticipated sequel... hahahaha
SpoonWielder - 3/21/2013, 6:33 PM
Hooray for continuity!

@Ocelot and Panther X

Yeah Hawkeye has really been underused. I much as hated Hawkeye being a bad guy for most of the movie. It was either that or have him just forced into the plot. It wouldn't have made sense. I liked how they did it, he had a reason to disobey orders and go after Loki with the rest of them.
But with rumors of the Avengers 2 having a rotating roster, I'm pretty sure Hawkeye will be the first to go. Which sucks.
jlabatman0511 - 3/21/2013, 6:39 PM
Have no idea who this guy is and based on who they have him playing, don't care!
Lozzy94 - 3/21/2013, 6:48 PM
@Beatnation

this movie is based on one the of the best Captain America story arcs ever. It also features SHEILD, Falcon, Black Widow and is probably the closet thing to Avengers 2 until the actual movie comes out. So why wouldnt it be highly anticipated?
SnapperCarr - 3/21/2013, 7:12 PM
They should also bring to life Agent Jimmy Woo from those Agents of Atlas comics, and then make an Agents of Atlas movie.
jimoakley666 - 3/22/2013, 3:10 AM
Maybe Fury will do a little more that Basil Exposition and fire a rocket launcher this time.
Fogs - 3/22/2013, 7:38 AM
After coulson's death it was obvious they would promote him. Item 47 confirms that.
MadTitan - 4/7/2013, 5:57 PM
i only noticed the guy on that item 47 because this article reminded me of that character. well it won't hurt to find another Coulson in the making i guess.
