I'm sure by now you've all seen Ben Affleck suited and booted as the Caped Crusader in his glorious Frank Miller influenced Batsuit, so to coincide with the Batmania that has taken over the internet, I thought I'd list 5 things I want to see from Ben Affleck's Batman.

#5 - A darker, more disturbed Batman

I'd like Snyder and Affleck to go deeper into Batman's psyche, and show us how his obsession of avenging his parents by fighting an endless war on crime has effected Batman's mental health. Batman is a disturbed individual, but I feel it's something that hasn't really brought to light in live action.

#4 - A more aggressive Batman

Remember that time when Batman dropped Maroni off the roof? I loved that, and I want to see more of that in Ben Affleck's Batman. Batman doesn't kill, but he sure as hell inflicts pain upon his opponents, even going as far to sometimes physically torturing criminals, like Maroni, to talk. I'd like to see more of that aggressive side of Batman in Affleck's take on The Dark Knight.

#3 - The Worlds Greatest Detective

We got to see a decent amount of detective work from Batman in the Nolan Trilogy, but for most, it wasn't enough. I never had a problem with the smaller emphasis on in Nolan's Trilogy, as what was done worked for his vision, but I'd like to see a heavier emphasis on Batman's detective side this time around.

#2 - Paranoid or Over Prepared?

It's a debate within itself, but regardless of what you think, Batman has a tendency to have a contingency plan for everything, even his contingency plans. It's a side of Batman that hasn't really been explored in live action, and it's a side of Batman I'd personally like to see explored this time around. Batman is the master of prep time, so show us why, Snyder!

#1 - More Batarangs!

From the top of my head, I remember seeing 1 batarang in the entire Dark Knight Trilogy. I could be wrong, and they may have been a few more, but one things for sure, there was very little use of Batman's signature weapon. I'd like to see Affleck's Batman use batarangs more frequently than his predecessors, more in line with his comic book counterpart. Batarangs are cool, and it's time to show the world why, Snyder!

Take into consideration that there is plenty of more things I'd like to see from Ben Affleck's Batman, but for the sake of keeping the list short, I just cherry picked 5 things. Feel free to list 5 things you'd like to see from Affleck's Batman and share you're thoughts below.

Yep, all of the above. He was quite brutal in TDK series but there is room for more.

what i really want to see is the dark knight detective. the reason i'm a fan of batman is because he is such a great detective and that's the kinda fiction i like.

and definitely show his as being paranoid. the paranoia is a defining characteristic
Brainiac13 - 5/14/2014, 7:59 AM
Also I like to see him more iconic poses......which I have no doubt....With Snyder.... :)

Another great article BatManiac.......and love the new Avatar. ;)
Brainiac13 - 5/14/2014, 7:59 AM
And Thumbs Up!
DEVLIN712 - 5/14/2014, 8:04 AM
I want him to make the weapons against the JL in secret and then have a point in the movie where we see the reaction of each member finding out about it
GliderMan - 5/14/2014, 8:10 AM
Definitely more batarangs and detective work. I'd just like Gotham to have the same tone and feel of the Arkham games. Also, you should write an article of what you want from Superman. I might write one later.
DylansMyDog - 5/14/2014, 8:14 AM
I'd rather not see them go any darker than the Nolan version.
Omarvls - 5/14/2014, 8:19 AM
I have to fear that Snyder will give us the most EPIC Batman EVER
BatzFTWfan - 5/14/2014, 8:28 AM
Agreed, Snyder's Batman will be more comic version than Burton's, especially Nolan's. I hope he gets closer to BTAS version, that was the version i love the most, and hopefully Ben says the quotes that the epic Conroy voiced.
charlie2094 - 5/14/2014, 8:31 AM
Pretty much agree with all that you want, be great to see that!

I'd really like a Batman (and Batman films) somewhat representing the Arkham Games, in terms of tone, combat, use of gadgets etc. Really like the dark, but not realistic tone of the Arkham games too
Klone - 5/14/2014, 8:46 AM
Paranoid. Tower of Babel was not to glorify Batman and make him out to be oh so wonderful: it was to show what a paranoid, arrogant, insane bastard he is.

Personally, I want Batman to develop as a character in this Universe by gradually getting more and more dark and disturbed.

Also, you didn't mention the whole "Creature of the night" point.
Nubase - 5/14/2014, 8:54 AM
Zack said his batman will be something never seen on screen before and to me that's him doing extreme martial arts, detective work and flying around gotham city, if those 3 things happen then it will be insane

As for him being disturbed l'm pretty sure we will get that as the batman will be a veteran and battle weary

Zack will deliver don't worry, he will want his batman to be nothing like nolans batman even though they are respecting it.
Doopie - 5/14/2014, 8:56 AM
yeah, i think it would work well if this is the starting point for the DCCU's Batman to descend into paranoia. with all these super-powered people popping up he realises he can trust none of them and, should it come to it, he would need a way to put them down for good. which might fit in nicely with some detective/deductive work. he needs that air of arrogance too and a total devotion to 'the mission'.
Sumitsjc - 5/14/2014, 9:03 AM

"Creature of the night"

Seems good to me
MrDonut - 5/14/2014, 9:33 AM
Solid editorial and that coloration of the suit is [frick]ing perfect, hope it's that dark a grey.
soforizo - 5/14/2014, 9:59 AM

Good article, but dude... no grappling gun??? I know it's surreal, but damn I would love to see some of that animated style movements.
kinghulk - 5/14/2014, 10:10 AM
100% agree with all of the above, good editorial.
rora - 5/14/2014, 10:35 AM
I do hope to see all of this in a Batfleck film but I'm not sure there's enough room in a MOS sequel if we don't want Supes overshadowed.
Nice article btw, thumbs up :)
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/14/2014, 10:50 AM
Just let Ben Affleck direct, he'll probably make the best batman movie out of anyone in Hollywood other than Nolan
Mike89 - 5/14/2014, 10:53 AM
Theres two other things id like to see.

1. No more throat cancer voice! As much as i love TDK Trilogy and consider it the best CBM trilogy that well ever see,(at least now). Id like to be able to understand what Batman says without laughing. A good example would be Batman Arkham Origins. Roger craig smith imo did a great job roughing up the voice without making it sound ridiculous. I hope Ben Affleck takes some notes there.

2. Better fight choreography. Again. Love TDK trilogy, the fight choreography didnt bother me, but i felt nolan could have done more to show Batmans martial arts background. He was trained by the league of shadows/assasins in Batman Begins and imo he should have been able to show Batman taking down 20+ guys at a time. But that and Bales Bat voice were the only issues i had with TDK trilogy. I am confident Zack Snyder can finally give us the comic book Batman that we all been waiting for. If you take a look at the this scene from Watchmen you'll notice how great the fight choreography is......

So far Batflecks Batsuit is great! I just recently heard the fight choreographer who worked with Zack Snyder on Watchmen will work with him on Batman vs Superman.
CaptainAmerica31 - 5/14/2014, 10:54 AM
Gone baby gone, the town, Argo?! He's PERFECT
Marxman12 - 5/14/2014, 11:06 AM
I think we will definitely see a cautious Batman who's not too fond of superpowered people. He sees the risks and threats they pose and because of that he will create contingencies to counteract the next superpowered problem.
Mike89 - 5/14/2014, 11:06 AM
btw I have agree with you on #1 BatManiac

The only Batarang i remember seeing is from this scene...

This is most Most Batman feeling i got watching TDK trilogy. Batman takes down falcones group, one man at a time and carefully, whilst hiding in the darkness. I hope snyder shows more of this too.
MarkV - 5/14/2014, 11:23 AM
I want to see Batman hitch a ride on his plane using the grapple gun.

I want to see some tech from the Arkham games. He needs some kind of infra-red vision mode and a proper heads up display.

Also, Batman is always talking on his cellular connection in comics and games. It adds an interesting dynamic to the character.
Ranger14 - 5/14/2014, 11:23 AM
Pretty much agree with this. Add in being an exceptional and acrobatic martial artist (please note the word "exceptional").

"Zack said his batman will be something never seen on screen before and to me that's him doing extreme martial arts, detective work and flying around gotham city, if those 3 things happen then it will be insane"

There are a few here who believe we got that with Nolan's Batman. ;-) I am of differing opinion though. I expect more from Batman.
SimyJo - 5/14/2014, 11:26 AM
All of the above please! - I definately want to see a return of fearsome for the dark knight. None of this brawling in daylight in a 200-man riot such as in TDKR - that just felt so out of character for The Batman.
B4TM4N - 5/14/2014, 11:27 AM
Very disappointing, was hoping for more of a morden day/ninja style Batman. Not something out the 1950/60s outfit. Two different colours looks terrible. The cowel needs to look more menacing, longer ears.

MarkV - 5/14/2014, 11:30 AM
One word: Oracle
MarkV - 5/14/2014, 11:31 AM
I want to see combat right out of Captain America 2.
Swiftsword777 - 5/14/2014, 11:32 AM
Cant argue with any of your request
fettastic - 5/14/2014, 11:36 AM
Yeah um, I don't want to see Batman portrayed as a psychopathic torturer. He can threaten, he can certainly harm, but torture? No.
ThrotTheUnclean - 5/14/2014, 11:37 AM
@BatManiac Great choices dude! I agree with every single one of them. Especially #2 and #3. But I would have added a #6 Make the Batsuit Blue and grey! lol
YOR - 5/14/2014, 11:43 AM
I'd like to see longer ears and an oval bat-symbol.And more use of the cape for fight and flight.Of course ninja fighting skills wouldn't hurt either.
GrayFox1025 - 5/14/2014, 11:46 AM
#6. A more agile and ninja-like Batman. Less boxing and more mixed martial arts
TheTank - 5/14/2014, 11:47 AM
What id like to see of Batman in this new movie....is less Batman and more Superman considering this is Superman's movie and not Batman's.
Vanquisher - 5/14/2014, 11:49 AM
Do you know what's funny about this article? Out of the 5 items Batmaniac listed 4 of them has deals with Bruce/Bats' personality. People expect Ben Affleck to be able to do all this? Ben Affleck is one of the worst actors in Hollywood today. No critically acclaimed Director (i.e. Scorsese and PTA) would touch him and make him the star of his movie. The only Director who would touch Ben Affleck is Ben Affleck himself.

LOL...do people seriously think Ben Affleck can literally play the comicbook Batman?

In comparison to Heath Ledger,...anyone who thinks Affleck can pull a Ledger is a fool. Ledger had the acting chops way before The Dark Knight, highlighted by his critically acclaimed performance in Broke Back Mountain. What has Ben Affleck done? Ben Affleck couldn't even win Best Actor in the Oscars with himself directing....and Batmaniac thinks Affleck can pull 4 key characteristics of The Batman. LOL...you seriously gotta be kidding me.
thetrojan - 5/14/2014, 11:53 AM
Everytime I look at that image ,the movie builds itself around it and it is more than just a good movie.
This in turn will turn up the heat in the marvel camp to keep pushing the limits.
its all win win for us.
MarkV - 5/14/2014, 11:56 AM
Bottom line: he needs scary.

I want to be a little afraid of this Batman fellow.

gmoney0505 - 5/14/2014, 11:56 AM
I want Batman to freaking fight like this

Breaking bones and all. That is how I envision Batman fighting style.
