Finally, I've seen Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but does it live up to the hype? I can assure you it does.

So, without going into spoiler territory, let me just say, this movie has a great plot. From start to finish, the movie is an exhilarating action packed ride full of twists and revelations that's sure to leave a grin on any Marvel fans face.

Huge revelations are revealed in this movie that is sure to change the Marvel Cinematic Universe forever. However, it's not all about the MCU. No, not at all. This plot is brilliant in its own right. The pacing was great too, and there was never a dull moment.

Now, without saying too much, because I really didn't want to go into the plot, because it's something that should really be experienced first hand, and my words wouldn't do it justice, I'll just say this; "if a head is cut off, two more will take its place."

The action in this movie is incredible. The movie has some of the best set pieces and choreographed fight sequences I've seen in a movie. All the performances were great. I really enjoyed Scarlet Johansson's performance as Black Widow this time around.

Sam Jackson's Nick Fury kicked some ass this time around too. Chris Evan's IS Captain America! This is the man you want leading The Avengers, without a doubt! I enjoyed Mackie's performance as Falcon too.

Stan's performance as The Winter Soldier is brilliant! He doesn't say much, but trust, he doesn't have to. Stan brought an incredible presence for the role, and he was badass every second he was on the screen.

All in all, I really enjoyed Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It's an exhilarating action packed political thriller that left me feeling completely satisfied and excited to see what The Russo's come up with next! It's not only one of the best comic book movies I've seen, it's one of the best action movies I've seen.

On a scale from 1 to 10, I'd score Captain America: The Winter Soldier a whopping 10!

Thanks for reading.

A whopping 10 it indeed it does deserve....indeed it does.
MrSotoMan - 3/25/2014, 10:46 PM
I accept that it's short given that he just saw this movie and his mind must be fluttered with so much positivity and excitement that in short after 1 hour of a screening, is the best.

James Man, we promise you this movie delivers it, DELIVERS IT!
Kurne - 3/25/2014, 10:52 PM
Can't [frick]ing wait

Maestro - 3/25/2014, 10:54 PM

My oh my. This movie is getting tons of praise. I cannot wait any longer. If its as good as everyone makes it out to be, I plan on watching it MULTIPLE times.
MrSotoMan - 3/25/2014, 10:56 PM
You guys should of seen the car-ride home after I saw the movie

Maestro - 3/25/2014, 10:57 PM
I've been hearing how much this film changes everything in the MCU. I honestly don't know how the Russos did such a thing with the MOST grounded hero's film in the entire MCU. It'll definitely be interesting to see.
Maestro - 3/25/2014, 10:57 PM

He said he thinks its the best film in the entire MCU.
GizmoEl - 3/25/2014, 11:02 PM
Agreed. Great movie!
GizmoEl - 3/25/2014, 11:04 PM
I really think it's one of, if not, the best solo cbm of all time. I need to see it again before I can decide whether I liked it more than Iron Man
MrSotoMan - 3/25/2014, 11:12 PM
My determination to see this movie after hearing of bad traffic

Waiting 3 hours in line

Finally getting into the theater

My mind exploding the moment the movie ended

MrSotoMan - 3/25/2014, 11:21 PM
@Anno- It's the best one, it's way better than First Avenger & The Avengers.

I compare this movie to Terminator 2, it's not Dark Knight or have any type of existing ideology with that movie, but the action seems comparison to Terminator 2 in so many ways.

Brainiac13 - 3/26/2014, 9:16 AM
I turned down the opportunity at the Midnight showing........Just too [frick]ing tired at that time!

I'll be there this Friday.

Great review.

How do you rate this in your Top Ten now? Do you think its better than TDK?
Ramiel - 3/26/2014, 9:21 AM
A 10? Wow!
marvel72 - 3/26/2014, 9:22 AM
got back about an hour ago, best marvel film ever! 5/5

to all other comic book movies coming out this year......

Batmaniac - 3/26/2014, 9:42 AM

I've only given 6 comic book movies a 10, and The Winter Soldier is one of them.

It's knocked X-2 out of my top 5, and I'm still debating whether or not I prefer it more than Watchmen, so it's top 5 material. Captain America: The Winter Soldier is the perfect political action thriller, while The Dark Knight, in my opinion, is the perfect crime thriller, so it really comes down to what sub genre you prefer, and for me, I'm more into crime movies.

Still, The Winter Soldier is a masterpiece, in my opinion. There's never a dull moment, and it's great from start to finish.
ALegendaryPanda - 3/26/2014, 9:49 AM
My body is not ready for this!
ALmazing - 3/26/2014, 10:07 AM
Brief but sweet.

Liverpool4life - 3/26/2014, 10:17 AM

Your only adding to my anxiety levels. I wish I were back in the UK to see it sooner. Alas, I was a wee lad when I moved to the US.
m0th3r - 3/26/2014, 10:20 AM

DrunkenNukem - 3/26/2014, 10:27 AM im really intrigued...if batmaniac says this is a 10...i have to watch this film on april 4th...
CapitanAmerika2 - 3/26/2014, 10:29 AM
WOW!!!! I am really wanting to see this movie after all the praise it is getting.
Brainiac13 - 3/26/2014, 10:50 AM
From all the good reviews and positive buzz...........this could end up the best CBM so far beating TDK and Avengers.
Spidey10 - 3/26/2014, 10:58 AM
Great review Batmaniac and I agree...I saw it last week and it was better than what I thought it would be and I had high expectations
Spidey10 - 3/26/2014, 11:10 AM
Someone needs to stop that guy Khan from ruining the movie for everyone tho...hes telling everything lol id be pissed but I saw it already
UltimateHunt - 3/26/2014, 11:14 AM
damn i cant wait for this one
great reviews, will change the MCU for ever?, will top all of our top 10 cbm's, we needed it a CBM like this. and deserved it.
just out of curiosity, how was the 3D?
TheEightMan - 3/26/2014, 11:20 AM
@batmaniac AGREE 100%. For me, best comic action movie to date. And that thing in the end just wow
cronnyberg - 3/26/2014, 11:34 AM
Having watched it last night, I can confirm just how amazing this film is... it blows CA:TFA out of the water! It deserves all the hype its getting, and i'm jealous of you lot, because you still get to see it for the first time!!!
cronnyberg - 3/26/2014, 11:36 AM
@UltimateHunt I tend not to like 3D, because sometimes I feel it makes it too hard to see fast moving images, but I saw this in IMAX and I thought it was done well :)
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/26/2014, 11:38 AM
Damn the praise on this film is killing me. We probably have the greatest cbm of all time here. I can understand if it interchanges with The Avengers or The Dark Knight as those two are top dogs. Wow very excited. Will be seeing it April 3rd.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/26/2014, 11:40 AM
Looks as if any movie might have a hard time beating this storywise. Let see what the box office does for it. Still think Spiderman 2 and Transformers 4 are the ones to beat box office wise but we'll see. ;)
Spidey10 - 3/26/2014, 11:46 AM
Remy ill say this much TDK has competition for me personally
Spidey10 - 3/26/2014, 11:47 AM
I was really shocked at how much better it was than my expectations and the after credit scene has me super ready for Avengers...I cant even imagine what that could be
TMW1987ProudProWrestlingFan - 3/26/2014, 2:03 PM
CA:TWS IS THAT GOOD & deserves all this hype & praise it is getting & I 100% agree with every single sentiment & comment made from Batmaniac in his review, it's bang on point!

This! Was! EPPPPPICCCCC!!!!!!!!!!

Guardians (Sorry Guardians), Spider-Man & X-Men have no chance, it's simple..... CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER IS THE COMIC BOOK MOVIE OF THE YEAR!!!!!

If Joss Whedon ever decides to leave Avengers after 3 to move on to other projects, I'd be pretty confident with The Russo Brothers taking over directorial duties on Avengers movies!

Action was great! Comedy was great! (And well timed / placed. Take note SHANE BLACK!) Dialogue was great! The score to the Fight Scenes were perfect! And they even pull on the old Heart Strings early on.

Never had any doubt in the Russo's!

My friend who I went with turned to me & said "Better than Avengers".

Can't quite decide myself if I want to say it's better or that it's equal with Avengers because I love both, but boy was this movie FANTASTIC in every single way!

Already booked in another 2 times at least with different people to see it with & will probably see it a few more before it goes off screens.

I wish Cap 2 would make a Billion Dollars because boy does it deserve to be a Billion Dollar movie, more so than Iron Man 3!

So I hope you folk yet to see it buy the Sh*t out of tickets!

Along with the many more times I have planned to see it, think I'll throw in 1 or 2 IMAX 3D Showings just to help chuck more money at it!

Also, I have now had 4 other friends (3 well into comic books & super hero movies & 1 just a fan of the movies) who have seen it have also said to me better than Avengers, but one quote from our non die hard comic book fan that really stands out.....

"One of the best films I have ever seen. FULL STOP!"

And he's not really a hardcore comic book reader or fan & is very hard to please with movies, so the fact he has said that to me is hoping this movie is gonna be an absolute hit with everybody & the good word of mouth spreads!

That right there is the type of feeling you want from somebody who isn't particularly knowledgeable of comics / a General Audience reaction.

Marvel Phase I IMO:

Iron Man
Iron Man 2

Marvel Phase II (So far) IMO:

Iron Man 3

(And I already think & believe Guardians will be better than Iron Man 3 from what we've seen so far so that is easily gonna go into the number 2 or 3 slot).

I'm thinking by the time Phase II is done, it will probably be (Depending on opinion)

Avengers 2 or CA:TWS as number 1.

Avengers 2 or CA:TWS as number 2 (Depending n where people will rank 1 over the other)

Iron Man 3

Gonna be an interesting view from different folk for Phase II once it's over.
FOOM - 3/26/2014, 3:42 PM
The Winter Soldier continues to demonstrate the big difference between Marvel and DC characters. While DC have one dimensional card board cut-outs with big POWERS Marvel prefers to focus on seeing their characters as real people who the audience can identify with and root for. And there's real chemistry between the Marvel characters which continues to shine through in this film.

DC, the jig is up. There must be so much desperation sinking in at WB that a Legion of Super Pets trilogy and a rebooted Legends of the Super Heroes still can't be ruled out.
