Seems a little petty to me... Funny, but a bit childish.

That's a pretty distasteful marketing strategy if you ask me and I'm more of a MARVEL guy. In business it's not wise to poke fun at you competition. Especially when you're barely winning the "war" as it is.

they're winning so go ahead.

There's no such thing as tacky, petty or childish when it comes to a company trying to make sales and improve their image.
At least this scheme will show how the people who read comics from both companies possibly favour one over the other.

Tacky and makes Marvel look worried with DC's new direction. We all know DC is the grandaddy of the comic industry and they are looking to reinvigorate the old guard as it were, Marvel's only real hold is on the big screen however this will not last forever. What if Avengers doesn't hold to what they want? so far no Marvel film has had the impact as say 'The Dark Knight', we are also seeing positive vibes for 'Man of Steel'.

Since Marvel has released most of their big guns on the big screen DC has 4? hopefully eventually DC will bring other heroes to the big screen, we have those within the JLA, JSA, Teen Titans etc IMO seems the Marvel empire has realized this and are trying to hit where DC truly shines, the pages of the monthly comic.
