Comedian vs Judge Dredd -- Dredd's body armor and Lawgiver give him a clear edge in this fight. Eddie pops off his riot gun, Dredd sneers and blows him away.

Banshee vs Crow -- Banshee doesn't bring anything to the table that would help him against a supernatural opponent like The Crow, who could tear Banshee to pieces in any number of ways.

Batman vs Captain America -- Rematch 'em all you want, but Cap takes this. All day. Every day. Period.
AnungUnRama - 11/29/2012, 5:01 AM
#1: Tough one. Judging from the picture the Comedian wears a bullet proof vest, too. And he has shot guns with a lot of firepower. Maybe enough to break Dredd's body armor. But the Lawgiver is pretty badass. I think Comedian would instantly throw some grenades at Dredd which gives him the edge. If the arena would provide something to cover from the grenades, heat seeking Lawgiver bullets, would make Dredd win this one, though.
#2: If it was a death match, I'd agree. Banshee couldn't do anything against Crow, but since it's not, I have to disagree on this one, too. Banshee would take out Crow.
#3: This seems to be a controversial fight. So the super soldier serum brought Rogers instantly to the peak of human potential. Batman is at the peak of human potential, too. But not with cheating by using some drugs but by having an unbreakable will to go through a lifelong training. So Rogers has a great attitude (that’s why he was chosen for the super soldier program) but he hadn’t the willpower to hit a gym, bulk up etc. and become a soldier without that super drug. Batman has that willpower, which – after a tough fight (I’d love to see) - gives him the edge, I think. But as close as it can be.

Man your logic is laughable. It put you one step below Relentless.

Cap was sickly before his transformation, he never could achieve what you are proposing. Besides you may as well compare their tastes in tea, like that would matter.

Newsflash: Ignoring the facts does NOT make those facts disappear.

Cap is Batman's Superior physically, strategically, and in body efficiency. Batman's drive is focused towards Villainy and vengeance. Caps offers neither motivator for Batman.

Read the powers before trying to apply your pretzel logic.

And Btw, written honestly it would not be remotely close.
AnungUnRama - 11/29/2012, 9:43 AM
I didn't mean to offend anyone. I have to admit, I wasn't aware of Cap's pre serum sickness. Should have checked that better. Sorry. Anyway, still both are on physical peak. So it could go either way. And hence in the crossover it was about a draw (I know Batman stated that Cap might defeat him, but this still says he might lose). So both are toe to toe. And I thought Batman might have a tiny advantage. If you think Cap has. Fine to each his own.
Minato - 11/29/2012, 10:11 AM
If you haven't seen this its a pretty good fanmade fight between Cap and Bats...

SpideyQuad - 11/29/2012, 11:11 AM
But they are not equal, a fact you keep dismissing through ignorance. No normal human is capable of Cap's level of peak.

Cap would win on the fact his altered body does not produce fatigue poisons.

It isn't you are offending. You are talking like you "know", but your info is incomplete at best.

My problem lies with that and others that would assume you were accurate from not knowing themselves.

Cap can fight hours without tirering! (sorry for that misspelling) :-D

SpideyQuad - 11/29/2012, 11:21 AM
Here, I did the research for you... from wikipedia

Captain America has no superhuman powers, although as a result of the Super-Soldier Serum and "Vita-Ray" treatment, he is transformed from a frail young man into a "perfect" specimen of human development and conditioning.[84] Captain America's strength, endurance, agility, speed, reflexes, durability, and healing are at the zenith of natural human potential. Rogers' body regularly replenishes the super-soldier serum; it does not wear off.[85]

The formula enhances all of his metabolic functions and prevents the build-up of fatigue poisons in his muscles, giving him endurance far in excess of an ordinary human being. This accounts for many of his extraordinary feats, including bench pressing 1200 pounds (545 kg) and running a mile (1.6 km) in 73 seconds (49 mph/78 kph).[86] Furthermore, his enhancements are the reason why he was able to survive being frozen in suspended animation for decades. Rogers cannot become intoxicated by drugs, including alcohol, or by impurities in the air and is immune to terrestrial diseases.

SkaarJones - 11/29/2012, 12:17 PM
Batman and Cap rate incredibly close on Marvel/DC wikia. Both are listed as bench pressing over 1000 lbs, able to dodge bullets at point blank range, exceeding physical attributes of any Olympic level athlete (running faster than Usain Bolt) and a ton of other similar traits. Both have genius levels of comprehension, but Batman appears to be on or above the Reed Richards/Tony Stark/Lex Luthor level of genius and able to use his strategic/tactical skills at that level as well. Cap on the other hand, has traits that make it hard not to call him superhuman. His cells are so healthy he can't get drunk, sick, immune to most poisons and barely ages. His bones and muscles are denser and harder than normal and he says he sees faster than bullets fire because his senses are peaked. Then you have Cap's shield which is capable of blocking Mjolnir, Hulk punches and adamantium weapons and can be used like a richocheting boomerang as well as a bludgeon. On the other hand, Batman is a gazillionaire who carries a ton of helpful gadgets and sneaky explosives normally and has the ability to sniff out vulnerabilities and build on a Reed Richards/TStark level to conquer almost any level of problem.
SpideyQuad - 11/29/2012, 12:39 PM
The Reed Richard's comparison is something new to me, but There has been multiple DC reboots and crises so I couldn't argue... but Reed Richard's level... Really?

No wonder he never loses.

Realistically people just broke the 1,000 lb barrior in the late 70's and they were sterioded soviet's that could barely move. Truley gigantic men. Comic Bane size guys.

But ok... why not... he's Batman

... farts don't smell either I'll wager
GuardianDevil - 11/29/2012, 2:17 PM
How is it that in Batman's wins it has Wolverine, Silver Surfer, Boba Fett and Thor? Is that a joke? Batman can't even take out Spidey...
gravedigger9906 - 11/29/2012, 4:31 PM
sounds like batman haters to me. the fact is both men are nearly equal in every way. put perfect in quotes all you want, but peak level is peak level. there is no higher than peak "human" performance. all stats describe both as just that, not superhuman. yes, cap does have the stamina, but batman has mastered every martial art known to man, so i think that is a non-issue. put them on a treadmill and cap wins, there happy now? in strategy i believe it could go either way, but this isnt chess. its about skill, weapons and the drive to win. both also have an abundance of that.i would say this match up would have different results almost every time. the thing that gets me is the cap wins all day everyday mentallity, and i'm sorry but loudlon is sorta biased when it comes to cap. this is probably the most hotly debated of any match up, but if people were really honest i believe this match up should be called a draw. if not, check out stat pages that compare both marvel and dc comics, batman is almost always rated higher {my bias there} dont believe me? check it out here... http://www.superherodb.com/
GuardianDevil - 11/29/2012, 5:49 PM
May I suggest that you guys get better photos, that picture of Lobo looks like my fat uncle who went out and got drunk and then tried to start a fight and lost horribly. Please get some better photos.
rottencotten - 11/29/2012, 7:54 PM
^^Newbies lmao...

Alright I get to choose a character for three different companies...

Judge Dredd- I have to agree with the majority on this one. Dredd would see the Comedian as nothing more than another criminal. Verdict-execution.

The Crow- I think @Loud said it best...Flying wouldn't help Banshee in the least...Eric gets his hands on Sean it's over...

Batman- I have to disagree with the majority and agree with @Anung and Grave...Batman gets the knock-out...

Sub-Zero for the battle...

Suggested Fight: Fire vs Storm
LoudLon - 11/29/2012, 9:45 PM
@gravedigger -- if you read these Fight Club discussions regularly, you'll see we don't hate Batman. I've said myself on numerous occasions he's a great comics character and deserves a huge fan-base. What we hate is how this very HUMAN character has been built up by blindly allegient fanboys to where he can beat guys like Silver Surfer for no other reason than that he's more popular. You know there are real-world martial artists who spend their entire lives mastering ONE form of martial arts, and we're to accept that Batman, once again, very HUMAN, has mastered 127??? That shit don't float.

Anyway...

@Anung -- I believe in the movie they had Comedian wearing body armor, but he never did in the comic. Personally I always go by the comic version, but fair enough.

As for Bats and Cap...

Again, to clarify, there's a difference between peak physical condition and peak human condition.

Bats is peak physical condition. As strong, fast and agile as a man of his age, height, weight and build can be.

Cap is peak human condition. As strong, fast and agile as ANY human being can be regardless of age, height, weight and build without being considered super-human.

A thing about Bats' strength level:

As it stands right now, the world record in bench pressing is 1,075 lbs, set by a man who is 6'2", with a body weight which averages around 320 lbs.

Batman, according to webenglish, is 6'2", 210 lbs, but I say screw it; let's put him at 240 lbs. 6'2", 240 lbs makes him the exact same size as Arnold Schwarzenegger at his absolute best (Mr. Olympia 1973, according to most bodybuilding experts). Now, it's been suggested that Bats can bench 1,000 lbs. Arnold Scwharzenegger's max bench press, a record he held for a few years in Austria, was 440 lbs, according to wikipedia. But I read his first biography in high school back in the 80s, and he claimed a max bench press of closer to 500 lbs. So we'll go with that instead.

Do you see what I'm getting at, here? Even adding thirty pounds onto Bats and giving him the strength of Arnold Schwarzenegger at his strongest, he still comes nowhere close to the 1,000 lbs mark. We're being asked to accept that Batman is just as strong as a weightlifter who is also at peak strength for his age, height, weight and build and who outweighs Bats by no less than 80 lbs (we can assume at least 80% of that 80 lbs is pure, raw muscle). And it's certainly plausible to assume this weighlifter is at peak strength because he record has remained unbroken for the last four years.

But since Cap is peak HUMAN condition, it stands to reason he is at the very least STRONGER than the guy who holds the bench press record, which would place Cap at over twice Bats' strength level. Also being peak human, it's a given that Bats, being completely unenhanced and without the benefit of the Super Soldier Serum himself, is not and never will be as strong, fast, agile, strategically and tactically adept or as proficient in combat, armed or no, as Cap is on his worst day. 'Cuz, you see, there's no such thing as a "worst day" for Cap because thanks to the SSS, he's ALWAYS operating at peak efficiency.

And let's not forget that the SSS enhanced Cap's mental and thought processes to the peak of human efficiency as well, and left him with an eidetic memory. This is why he can whip out a dozen strategies in the blink of an eye; adjust his strategies to adapt to any changes in situation just as quickly; legitimately memorize and master multiple forms of martial arts, and remember every move any opponent has ever made against him, granting him foresight into what that opponent will do before that opponent can even do it.

So what this all comes down to is that Bats is facing an opponent who, be this a first encounter or a 100th rematch, he has absolute ZERO chance of defeating.

That's not hating. That's just plain objective logic.
SkaarJones - 11/29/2012, 9:59 PM
Jake Prazak from Rock Falls, IA holds two all-time historical bench press records – 909 lbs. in the 220 lbs. weight class and 920 lbs. in the 242 lbs. weight class.
LoudLon - 11/30/2012, 2:58 PM
Franco Columbu, a former Mr. Olympia himself and one of Schwarzenegger's best friends and work-out buddies during their hey-day, is only 5'5" and had previously been a powerlifter with a personal bench press record of 525 lbs. Nine inches shorter than Schwarzenegger, but out-lifted him by eighty-some pounds. And it's all based on simple physics: shorter man have the potential to lift more weight than a taller, bigger man because, quite simply, with shorter limbs, they don't have to push the weight as far.

So much for that.

gravedigger9906 - 11/30/2012, 4:09 PM
superhero database describes them both at physical perfection. batman has been desribed as pushing himself to the "absolute pinnacle of human achievement" so i have found nothing that differs between the two heroes abilities. lets not forget, this is comics. if batman cant master all martial arts then cap cant drug himself with the sss without his heart exploding or suffering from a stroke. dont use "objective logic" on one and not the other. that kind of logic doesnt really fit into the world of comics, otherwise we would have no aliens, gods, lasers, superspeed, teleportation, other dimensions, world eaters... do i make my point?
AnungUnRama - 11/30/2012, 5:20 PM

A co-worker and I are having a discussion/argument about the Flash vs. Spider-Man. Can you do this? Or have you already? He says the Flash is superior in every way, can reverse time, run through walls, speed of light, etc, vs. agility, genius-level intelligence, spidey-sense, etc. I'd like to see other CBMers opinion on this. Thanks a lot.

"I've noticed that you sometimes use different pics of the same character, when that character has been portrayed in different approaches, e. g. in the Friday’s battle royal, you have a pic of Supergirl portrayed by Helen Slater (from 1984 movie) as well as a pic of Supergirl portrayed by Laura Vandervoort (from the Smallville TV series). So maybe for Lucifer you could use one pic of Peter Stormare (who portrayed the character in Constantine) and one pic of David Bowie (as the character was drawn to look like Bowie back then in 1989). I'm not sure whether this is in line with your rules, and I'd be fine if you used only the Peter Stormare pic, but I think - given the history of the character’s design - using a Bowie pic, too, would be a nice idea. Anyway once again, thanks a lot."
TheWitness:For the time being I'll use Peter Stormare. Thanks for the suggestion though.
